This week’s episode of RAW aired live from Bankers Life Fieldhouse arena in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was the second-to-last episode of RAW before WWE TLC 2017 on October 22nd. Here are 3 winners and losers from this week’s WWE RAW:
The Miz kicked off this week’s episode of RAW and gave out a couple of Mizzie awards. The Miz awarded Curtis Axel, Sheamus and Cesaro awards. Finally, The Miz gave himself an award and stated that he is dedicating it to his unborn child. Roman Reigns interrupted and came to the entrance ramp. He was quickly followed by Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
The Shield then made their way to the ring and beatdown Sheamus, Cesaro and Curtis Axel. The Miz escaped outside the ring but was chased by Ambrose and Rollins. The Miz got back into the ring and was greeted with a Dirty Deeds from Ambrose. The Miz then fell victim to a Triple Powerbomb from The Shield.
Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins have been attacked by The Miz, The Miztourage and The Bar on recent episodes of RAW. However, they got some revenge tonight and officially reunited to beat down The Miz, Axel and The Bar. The crowd was pumped when the trio reunited on the entrance ramp and were even more excited when the came down to the ring.
It was later announced that The Shield will face The Miz and The Bar in the main event of WWE TLC. I knew that the crowd would be hyped to see The Shield reunite, however I was expecting this loud of a reaction. It was one of the loudest pops I’ve heard in a long time and this will only help Reigns get over with the crowd even more.
Braun Strowman easily defeated Matt Hardy tonight on RAW. After the match, Strowman carried Matt Hardy up the entrance ramp. The Shield emerged from backstage and stood in Braun’s path. Strowman dropped Matt Hardy and charged at Reigns. Strowman shoved Reigns into the screen on the entrance ramp but was attacked by Rollins and Ambrose.
Reigns then connected with a massive Spear. The Shield brought Strowman over to the announce table and slammed him through the table with the Triple Powerbomb. Strowman has still been a dominant force since losing to Brock Lesnar at No Mercy, but it pretty clear that The Shield is running RAW right now. Strowman later joined The Miz and The Bar in the main event against The Shield at WWE TLC.
Mickie James cut a solid promo tonight on her opponent at WWE TLC, Alexa Bliss. She was quickly interrupted by Bliss and Alexa continued to poke fun at Mickie’s age. Mickie then told Alexa to “bring her biscuit butt” down to the ring and say it to her face. This started a very loud “biscuit butt” chant in the arena.
Bliss refused to come down to the ring and started heading up the entrance ramp. Mickie attacked Alexa on the entrance ramp and got in a few shots before Alexa retreated up the entrance ramp. As Alexa was heading back up the ramp, the crowd once again started to chant “biscuit butt!”. Not only did Mickie pick up some momentum heading into her RAW Women’s Championship match at TLC, she also created one of best chants I’ve heard in a long time.
Bray Wyatt has been locked in a terrible feud with Finn Balor for months now. Sister Abigail has been introduced the feud and she is essentially Bray Wyatt with a Snapchat filter on his face. Sister Abigail cut a promo tonight and it was absolutely terrible. She said that Balor should fear her and that she was worse than anything that Balor has read in his Irish mythology books.
It was painful to watch and even worse to listen to. The crowd didn’t enjoy it at all. I was hoping that Sister Abigail would turn out to be an actual person. I’m already tired of the ominous Bray Wyatt promos and now they are even worse with the addition of the Sister Abigail character. This feud isn’t helping Wyatt or Balor at all and hopefully it will end at TLC.
Kalisto faced Enzo Amore tonight for the Cruiserweight Championship in a Lumberjack Match. It also happened to be the main event of the show. The match was very entertaining and featured a terrific spot where Kalisto Suplerplexed Enzo off the top rope and the two Superstars landed onto all the lumberjacks ringside.
Enzo Amore had the match won but Mustafa Ali dragged Amore out of the ring. Enzo leveled him a Clothesline and then got back in the ring. Kalisto wound up hitting the Salida del Sol off the second rope for the pinfall victory and became the new Cruiserweight Champion. Enzo’s title run was very short-lived as he lost his first defense to Kalisto.
I’m sure Enzo will have his rematch for the Cruiserweight Championship, but it looks like Amore is heading into a feud with Mustafa Ali. Kalisto can put on a great match with pretty much everyone on the 205 Live roster, so there may finally be a reason to tune into 205 Live every week.
