Backstage News on a Kofi Heel Turn, Change In WWE Developmental

Posted by Matt Boone March 21, 2013 12 Comments

- There have been discussions about turning Kofi Kingston heel with the idea that he’s talented but has been booked in a way where they will never be able to get him over as a babyface without a heel turn and push first.

– A new change in WWE developmental is to give the talents bullet points instead of scripts and teaching them to do promos like they used to be done.

It’s been noted that Triple H is far more old school in his thoughts on pro wrestling than Vince McMahon and when he’s in full control, we will likely see the storylines evolve back to a more believable and serious approach.

kofi as heel? meh, i don’t see it working. he’s much too like ricky steamboat IMO, meaning he was always meant to be a babyface. why not turn cena heel instead? oh yeah, it makes too much sense. lol.

Lord knows something needs to be done. He’s getting nowhere as a face. Actually, he’s just nowhere.

As much of a slimeball I think HHH is for how he ascended in the business, I have to give the Devil his due. His moves since assuming control of WWE have been brilliant, and weaning the wrestlers off of scripts is long overdue. I could be wrong, but the guys in the Monday Night Wars often didn’t use scripts. I know Stone Cold didn’t, and neither did Jericho.

Kofi is such a good midcard face that seems like a risky move. but it is a shame his big push with Orton just fizzled out.

The WWE should have let that feud go on longer. The match Kofi & Orton had at MSG a few years ago was awesome. That was the peak of Kofi’s career. Kofi as a heel would be hard to buy

Well with Triple H getting ready to take full control, I highly doubt that he will lose against brock since the end of his career would mean he would not get to make tv appearances once full control changes after vince leaves it to him.

I actually think WWE is planning to swerve us, and have Lesnar go over HHH again. It’s just a hunch I have.
HHH could very well retire at this year’s ‘Mania. I believe this is possible because:
1). Being COO simply requires too much time for him to continue worrying about an in-ring career. It seems like everyday HHH is shouldering more and more responsibility.
2). His body is breaking down.
3). HHH winning is way too obvious.
Of course, it’s possible he may get his revenge against Lesnar at the PPV, and everything will continue as usual…but I don’t think HHH having Lesnar retire him isn’t outside the realm of possibility.

I agree with all of you. Kofi as a heel would be hard to believe. But after his fued with orton went nowhere he just kinda faded in with the mid carders. I hope this heel turn boosts Kofis career cuz he has too much talent to just go to waste

It’s already hard to deal with Del Rio face turn but it’s slowly working so one can say Kofi will be fine.

    • Kage

Yet another reason why Paul needs to takeover ASAP…

Kofi as a Heel? I would have to see it I hope he can pull it off……..Del Rio as a face is actual true if you followed him in Mexico he was a face till he came over to WWE
