Breaking News: Christian Appearing At TNA Slammiversary

Posted by Michael Bluth June 8, 2012 60 Comments

TNA President Dixie Carter announced on Twitter this morning that WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian will be appearing at TNA Slammiversary this weekend:

“On a plane headed to Dallas for the big PPV this weekend. Very excited @Christian4Peeps is joinin us for the night. He’s one of my favorites”

Dixie Carter’s announcement could be a sign that Christian will be the first person announced for the TNA Hall of Fame at the pay-per-view, but that is just speculation at this point.

While this is also not confirmed, it’s possible that WWE allowing Christian to appear at Slammiversary is payback for TNA allowing Ric Flair to appear at WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony this year.

* COUNTDOWN: The Top 5 People Who Belong In TNA’s HALL OF FAME

  • Deathdaisy

At least TNA knows that Christian isnt there just to be there

    • tedhammersley

I couldnt agree more, tna actually knew how to use Christian the right way

  • Boris

Could it be the first hint to the pirchase of TNA by WWE???? There was rumours about it not to long ago!

    • afan

if anybody is buying anybody, its going to be tna buying the wwe

      • http://www.facebook.com/AltonDevir Alton DeVir

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you think that would ever happen, you are completely simple minded and delusional. But, you are entitled to your own opinion. Even if it’s completely fucking wrong.

        • chris masters

hahaha your just another wwe fanboy

          • ScorpionKing

hahaha YOU’RE just another 14yo tna fanboy…i bet he goes and cries in the corner and cuts himself watching sparkly vampire movies like a good lil emo because i made fun of him/her/it….prolly gonna kick the cat on the way.

      • Ice

TNA dont got enough power nor cash to do that, plus their going down the drain so you can never see that happening

        • thefan

lol another idiot, wwe is the one going down stupid, tna aint kissing wwe’s ass-wwe is kissing tna’s ass, you need to get your facts right!

          • theWWEfan

Please enlighten us with how WWE is going down and TNA isn’t. If anyone is acting like a fanboy here, it’s you.

          • thefan

ive explained why numerous times and im not explaining it again, if you cant see wwe going down then I dont know what to tell you. WWE in 2012 is WCW in 1999. Its plain and simple, im not saying this because im a TNA fan im saying this because I was a WCW fan when it went down and I didnt wanna believe it either, I thought because WCW has all this money and good ratings that there was no way they would go out of business, well guess what? I was wrong and so are alot of fans that think WWE is doing fine.

          • ScorpionKing

you retard….when wwe finally sinks you can be sure it will be long after they either buy tna, or tna goes out of business because nobody cares about wrestling anymore…tna is barely better than fcw hahahaaa if wwe is wcw 99 then tna=awa 91…you are probably a 14yo so you wouldnt even know what awa is…google it.

          • thefan

Wow are you serious? I was watching wrestling when you were still sucking on your mamma’s tit! You cant handle the truth, its all good though, AWA in 1991? really?! wake up! AWA in 1991 did not have a national deal dumbass, I didnt have to google that dipshit its a fact! If your going to compare TNA to anything its more like WCW 1994, you see im not a tna fanboy what I am is a wrestling fan, im not going to argue with some guy who claims to be a wrestling fan but clearly doesn’t know the first thing about wrestling.

          • ScorpionKing

bitch please, i watched randy and lanny poffo wrestle the convertable blondes in a highschool gym in lexington kentucky in 1981 for the ICW tagteam titles…you are a dumbfuck kid…wwe will go down when wrestling itself goes down.

          • thefan

This shows how immature some people can be. You call yourself a wrestling fan? Well anyways, I gotta get back to work-yeah I actually have a job. And Im not a dumbfuck kid, im a US Veteran who bust my ass so people like you can sit on your ass. The bottom line is you know im right and you know your wrong, and no in 1991 awa did not have a deal dipshit, they weren’t even making profit.

          • Peter

Calls someone immature for calling him names when you’re the one going around here calling people idiots and fanboys. How pathetic.

If you think WWE is dying and TNA isn’t then you got some major issues to deal with.

          • ScorpionKing

“AWA in 1991 did not have a national deal dumbass” this isnt 1991 dumbass, a national deal doesnt mean shit in 2012 . people are getting tired of wresting period, not just wwe or tna…tna could lose 4 guys and be crippled.

          • stevemarrow

What is going on guys? this clearly isn’t the place for this. ScorpionKing are you serious? ive read what you wrote on here and on other blogs, you must be the most ridiculous wrestling fan since david arquette, you’ve been bringing up the awa, really? that company cant even come close to tna and that isn’t saying a whole lot. Plus your bashing @the fan bringing up vampire movies, this isn’t 24twilight so get out of here with all that shit. thefan your sorta right, your more right the the twilight dweeb. Id have to say tna has a bigger chance of beating the wwe then people think I mean after all there is an alternative now.

          • ScorpionKing

look at the thumbs and get off my nuts…you and thefan should get a room.

          • thefan

wow thats really clever, you a fucking kid

          • Scorpionking

yeah, 5yo,1981,live,lexington kentucky, highschool gym, randy/lanny poffo vs convertable blondes for the ICW tagteam titles…come better than that kid.

          • ScorpionKing

and actually, i shouldnt even compare tna to awa…awa was good! tna is comp for fcw.

          • ScorpionKing

you arent talkin shit now are you?!?! ive been watching wrestling since ’79!

        • Kindred1313

WWE has more money they can buy TNA three time over with all the talent they have they will never make enough money to buy out WWE. Your forgetting WWE is not just a wrestling organization any more.

  • TRazor

It makes no sense for anyone other than Jarrett to be the first inductee. You could say AJ, but he still has a long career ahead of him. Putting Christian in there would only solidify their reputation as being unable to create their own stars. They could maybe put Macho Man just to shove it in WWE’s face…

    • http://www.facebook.com/josemzenteno Joey Zenteno

And Jarrett Does He Is A Product Of WWF And WCW

      • Mr. Me

        Jarrett founded TNA

        • Wrestlehead

Not only that, but Jarrett will have a tough time getting into the WWE HOF any time soon. And I totally agree with TRazor – Jarrett is the ONLY guy who makes sense as their first inductee. Macho Man only made one appearance for TNA so as much as I like Randy it would be a slap in the face to a few other people who put their time in.

        • ring monkey

His father technically founded TNA not Jeff. And really Christian inducted into TNA HOF lol his stay was to short to matter enough. This is just the return favor for Flair being at WWE HOF nothing more. I agree however it will most likely be Jarret who is inducted first him or Sting.

      • GhostDistortion

Well technically he’s a product of USWA because that is where he actually got his start, but you’re right though he didn’t achieve stardom until the WWF and didn’t become a world champion until WCW.

    • Chunnia

What about Sting. I only heard about TNA when searching for Sting.

  • CM Drunk

If Christian is the first inductee it proves how ,meaningless their HOF Is, rather then pay tribute to one of their own wrestlers they’re choosing a WWE made product as payback for flair

    • thefan

      shut the hell up dude!

      • Troof

you shut up, doooode…tna sucks old wwe dick, ask nash, hogan, flair, and bischoff, steiner, booker, bully, i mean, bubba, i mean brotha, i mean bully ray…eric has run awa, wcw, and tna into the ground….their top knockouts are christy hemmie, and that horseface country/wigga/hillbilly bitch, trishs stalker…what a joke, christy doesnt even wrestle hahaaa

        • kurt angle

lol another wwe fan, you guys are so stupid!

  • Peeperooni

Awesome!! Hopefully WWE see his value and worth outside of them – and give him another run at the top! He deserves it!!

  • tedhammersley

    HELL YEAH!

  • SJP315

I’m guessing Christian is gonna answer the crimson open challenge and get squashed to make a TNA guy look better than one of WWEs champions but who knows, now it makes sense as to why the first flashback was the debut of Christian.

  • Booker T

When Christian came to TNA, It was he perfect Fit. Plus Dixie may not be done, you really think TNA is going to Induct ONE PERSON! Come on, you know Double J is going to be announced as well. LMAO Guys what if Christian Shows up and pulls an Alundra Blaze and ends up facing crimson? That would be awesome! Of he course the WWE would sue his ass to pieces, but it would be fun to see.

    • ……

Jeff jerett sucks…now that that’s out of the way…I agree the Christian match would be pretty cool…especially if the title is on the line…

    • Kage

Though it likely won’t happen, I’d like to see only one person inducted into the TNA HOF per year. Because:

A: TNA has nowhere near the alumni WWE has for multiple inductions per annum

and B: It would seem more important, only having ONE person chosen each year.

  • John Laryngitis

so he’s the superstar that WWE allowed to go to TNA for a moment.

  • ……

Cool….good choice…would have been hella cool if taker randomly showed up and won a match to be undeafeted at TNA’s version of Wrestlemania ….

    • thefan

oh yeah! tna all the way!

  • CM Drunk

I’m not saying that Christian doesn’t deserve to be there because he obviously does, all I’m saying is that it’s cheap by TNA to induct him now just because WWE took flair, he should be inducted in a couple of years, now should be someone who’s built the company, so undoubtably aj styles

  • CM Drunk

I’m not saying Christian doesn’t deserve to be there because he obviously does, but for TNA to induct him now just because of flair seems cheap,in a couple of years yes but now someone who’s built the company so it has to be aj

  • Kage

It’d be so awesome to have him as the first member of the TNA HOF (aside from Christian, I would think it’d be Jerry Jarrett, if we’re talking about retired/non-wrestlers).

Failing that, a promo in the ring (talking about his memories of TNA) would be good enough :)

Either way, this is so surreal!

    • thefan

Oh yeah, its going to be good

  • Papa Georgio

CHristian deserves a spot in the TNA HOF. The man is on e of the best in the business and should have several more WWE World Title reigns before he retires.

  • Peter

Christian did carry the company for quite some time. It seems like everyone forgot that before Kurt Angle, Sting, Jeff Hardy, RVD and Hogan were the face of TNA, it was Christian. Christian didn’t turn his back on TNA, TNA did. When all the other stars came, Christian became nothing more but a backdrop.

I still don’t think its smart to induct a WWE star as the first member of their hall of fame. It should be Jerry Jarret.

    • Kindred1313

I would agree with that if it wouldn’t give a bit of credibility to TNA as a WRESTLING promotion. It would bring wrestling all together rather then how WWE acts like wrestlers don’t exists if there not under the WWE banner or if they don’t have a job

      • thefan

How is it gonna give credibility to TNA?Their FIRST hall of fame inductee will be one of the rival company’s champion? It just doesn’t sound right. What will give TNA credibility is if they induct someone that helped establish TNA, from TNA, made by TNA and made TNA what it is. Whether it be Jeff, Jerry or AJ, their inductions make a lot more sense than Christian. This won’t make TNA look credible, it will make TNA look opportunistic. Taking advantage of a situation to create a buzz.

        • Kindred1313

I mean that TNA would be giving credit to the biz. as a hole and not segregate themselves like WWE. Its like Marvel comics and DC comics do with there ‘UNIVERSE”. TNA would say “hey these guys are better then just as a use for money, to the company they are singed to. We all know how unless the wrestler is on the roster to WWE or is affiliated to WWE and is not working they don’t get the credit for there accomplishment deserve. This way TNA makes the Wrestling Hall Of Fame actually can live up to its name. the WWE’s WHOF is just for them. Last year they would have done it right if the Sting contract negotiations came through. we would have had him in there and him being the first one that never worked for the company

  • BOTTOM LINE

AJ Styles should be inducted first into the hall of fame for all he has done. He deserves to be the first ever. Macho Man should be another one because he deserves it for the long WWE snub and to shove it in the face of WWE.
