Following Vince Russo’s demotion from TNA head writer, the company has added a former WWE writer and ROH director to their creative staff. Dave Lagana, a former Friends writer who wrote for WWE for 6 years, announced today that he has signed with TNA:
“I leave Ring of Honor Wrestling to tackle new challenges. I’ve accepted a position as Director of Creative Writing with TNA Wrestling. My duties will be to focus solely on the development of new wrestling shows beyond the Impact Wrestling show. I’m excited to see what the future holds and thank everyone for the support over not only the last nine months of this site but through my entire career.”
There was talk in 2010 of Lagana joining the TNA creative team, around the same time as Paul Heyman was in discussions to join. Of course, Heyman never joined due to TNA president Dixie Carter not willing to meet his demand of firing Vince Russo, whom she is said to be very loyal to.
With Bruce Prichard taking over Vince Russo’s old job as head of creative, and now this, it’s clear that there is a real overhaul going on in TNA right now and Vince Russo’s position may not be as safe as it once was.
