WWE Champion CM Punk will not wrestle at WWE’s upcoming Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.

It was announced at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings that Ryback will now team with Daniel Bryan & Kane in a match against The Shield: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

CM Punk was reportedly willing to wrestle less than two weeks after undergoing emergency knee surgery, but WWE did not want to risk putting his match against The Rock at the Royal Rumble in Jeopardy.

CM Punk and Paul Heyman are scheduled to remain on WWE television while he recovers. Punk will not be stripped of the WWE title.

I actually thought this was real for a little bit. The sudden change in the PPV tells me this was planned, and I doubt the surgery happened.
