The following are highlights from a recent interview with TNA president Dixie Carter:

On rumors of TNA being up for sale: “Since we have been in business going on 12 years now, this has been an ongoing (speculation). Oh, we’re going out of business. We’re not going to make it. Ever since we started, people were taking odds on how long we would last.”

On rumors that Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins was going to buy the company: “This last time I think a lot of it was perpetuated by a story that Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins was going to buy it. I texted Billy and I said, ‘Oh really, so you’re going to buy my company? Are you excited? That’s cool.’ And he said, ‘Oh, don’t you love rumors.'”

Ill bet thats the way it went. Its going to be funny to see if she trys to stay in the public eye.. and an even funnier thing is she wasnt with TNA in the beginning so I dont see why she acts like she was.

Dixie look at how you are doing right now do all the performers a favor find a qualified buy and sell you suck as an owner. Jerry and Jeff worked thier asses off to build the company. You bought it have your damnest to run it into the ground. Please sell it!

She kept Russo around for far too long. TNA has never recovered.

I love it how prominent employees of TNA skirt around the ‘sale’ issue whenever they’re asked about it.

On another interesting note, TNA’s site has a news piece up that acknowledges the rumours of Billy Corgen buying the company. Weird.
