Floyd Mayweather Says Victor Ortiz Lied About Life Story

In one of 2011′s most anticipated fights, Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41–0, 25 KO) makes his long-awaited comeback versus “Vicious” Victor Ortiz (29–2–2, 22 KO) in a 12-round bout for Ortiz’s WBC welterweight title this Saturday on HBO PPV.

At today’s press conference, Floyd Mayweather stated that Ortiz’s story about his father abandoning him on HBO’s 24/7 series was fake, among other inconsistencies with his life story. Mayweather also stated that he is betting $2.5 million each against both Ortiz and Oscar De La Hoya, that he will win his fight on Saturday night.

The press conference otherwise went smooth, aside from Mayweather placing a box of tampons on the podium, which was quickly removed.

Bodog betting odds have the bout currently set at -650 for Mayweather and +450 for Ortiz. Mayweather is the 8-to-1 favorite to win.

Mayweather is reportedly receiving a guaranteed minimum payday of $40 million for the fight.
