According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks like WWE’s developmental system is on the verge of undergoing major changes soon. The biggest change will be to the way they call up talent to the main roster.
WWE feels that Florida Championship Wrestling has one of it’s best rosters ever right now, and that recruiting talent is not an issue. FCW is WWE’s current developmental territory.
The company feels that first impressions are absolutely crucial, and that introducing a new wrestler before he’s ready is detrimental to his career. WWE feels that improper introductions lead to the wrestlers being left as “filler” after their initial intro to the audience.
Due to this, Triple H is trying to make sure that developmental talent is not brought up to the main roster until the WWE creative team not only has characters ready for them, but also long-term ideas on how to use them.
Some members of WWE management have stated openly that there are several FCW wrestlers who have more potential that guys currently on the main WWE roster. WWE is reportedly holding off on calling up these FCW stars until their characters are more polished
