John Cena’s Worth To WWE, WWE’s PPV Plans, More

– ESPN’s financial expert Michele Steele says that John Cena was worth $106 million dollars in retail value to WWE in 2010.

– WWE will be going back to 12 pay-per-views this year. WWE has reportedly decided to nix the second October pay-per-view – Vengeance. This means there will be several weeks of build between the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view and the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

– Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown (1/6/12) drew a 1.8 cable rating, with 2.58 million viewers. The show was down from a 1.92 rating with 2.82 million from the week before. It’s the lowest number of viewers since August 5th and the lowest rating since mid-September. The show ranked #8 among cable shows for the night in overall viewers, #5 among in the male 18-34 demographic and #4 in the male 18-49 demo. The show was up against the series finale of “Wizards of Waverly Place” on Disney, which drew 10 million viewers, as well as the Cotton Bowl Classic on Fox.
