Mr. T Saddened That His Hall Of Fame Ceremony Speech Was Cut Short

WWE Hall of Famer Mr. T is speaking out about his Hall of Fame ceremony being cut short on Saturday night. In reaction to Kane coming out and interrupting his rambling speech, Mr. T tweeted:
Mr. T took to Twitter and wrote the following about his 2014 WWE Hall of Fame speech being cut short:

“To my fans: Thank you very much for all your support! I am very disappointed and saddened that you couldn’t hear the rest of my speech… I was told my speech went too long? Really? Seriously? Matthew 10:32-33?

“All the inductees were told that you, “the fans, wanted to hear our stories”, to take our time and enjoy the moment but something…”

“I was deeply moved by the outpouring of support you showed me after my HOF speech was cut short.”

“Soon I will post the remainder of my speech for you to read. Thank you for your support.”

“My mother taught me to stand up for what I believed in. I put a lot of care and love into my speech… I wanted it to inspire and motivate people when they are hurting. Since my mother taught me to always try and take the high road, I will. If my speech helped just 1 mother & 1 son out there, thank you GOD!”

Really a shame they did him like that. Just because he wasn’t a true “wwe celebrity” doesn’t mean they should’ve cut him off like he was giving his speech at the oscars or something. smh

While it would have been nice to hear a complete speech where he got to fully enjoy the moment, it’s not as if they cut him off at the 3 minute mark or something. He went on FOR-EVER, and it was quite redundant. He should have edited it down to a more concise presentation.

That being said, Lita is partially responsible for having kicked off the show with a 40 minute storytelling session. She’s probably my all time favorite female ever in WWE, and I enjoyed all of her stories, but it felt more like what would be appropriate during a comic con panel that’s all about her than a speech at a ceremony like that with multiple speakers on the line up.

I’m all for letting them take as much time as they want to enjoy their moment, but there has to be some self control on behalf of the inductees. Enjoy the moment, but don’t overstay your welcome. Of this year’s inductees, I think Jake probably did the best job of finding that balance.

I really felt bad for Mr. T that they cut him off too. He looked like he felt bad at the time. At the same time, I do understand it was the night before Wrestlemania so the speeches couldn’t last all night. I just hope Mr. T. understands at the end of the day. Kudos for his motivation and his message though.

P.P. Johnny is thankful Kane came out to cut off that foo’. Mr. T’s speech was so long I think his mohawk was starting to grow back in & his gold chains were turning green.
