Negative Reaction Among WWE Wrestlers To A.W.’s Firing; Could He Be Rehired?

Wrestler reaction to A.W.’s firing by WWE on Friday for what a company spokesman said was due to his continued use of offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media after making a rape joke on the July 30 episode of Raw is said to be as negative to any termination in a long time.

Upon learning of the news, A.W. posted a barrage of Twitter messages roasting the sports-entertainment organization for what he perceives are double standards, such as Big Show making a similar remark referencing NBA player Kobe Bryant’s sexual assault case years ago and Vince McMahon reneging WWE’s anti-bullying campaign on Raw weeks ago by ridiculing Jim Ross’ affliction with Bell’s palsy. Though it would appear that he is squashing any chance of a return to the organization with each scathing tweet, Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer sees things otherwise.

He posted on the F4WOnline.com message board, “The more he says, the better his chances of being brought back in a while.

“Vince has no respect for people he bullies and don’t fight back.

“He hired Bischoff, Bret (spent ten years begging for him to comeback and even brought him back after Bret walked out on him the day of Mania), Sable, Billy Graham, yet never touched Heenan except for one shots. I doubt even he knows it but he’s playing it smart in the long run.”

so the wrestlers liked AW and feel strongly about him being let go. Only problem is that if they did speak out and diss the boss then we all know what would happen. I’m sure they have seen many friends over the years come and go, it’s just how the business works unfortunately and theres nothing that can be done, except every one of them going on strike, which would never happen.

lol i bet you’ll see vince on his knees crying and telling them he’s sorry, if all the wrestlers go on strike. He would be losing money, since fans won’t get to see their stars and wont bother watching.

That would hurt WWE and the fans who want to watch wrestling would go watch TNA or ROH to get their Wrestling fix and WWE would be hurting because of it too.If they went on and could not settle the strike.

The whole thing surrounding AW’s firing is severally lame but not a huge surprise as the WWE is famous for the mistreatment of their talent.

I liked AW now then when he had a stupid show on ECW. He was entertaining and trying to turn his career around as being a manager while being mic’d up, and it was never done before. But much like WCW, when WWE sees something or someone with potential, they stop it dead in its tracks. It’s funny how WWE brags about how they killed WCW, when WWE can’t realize they are doing the same exact damn practices today, that WCW did, that would eventually put them out of business (one of the reasons was not trying to push new talent). GET A F****** CLUE WWE!!!

I read that over 15 wrestlers are supposedly gonna go on a social media frenzy talking about how wwe is a multi million dollar company but are low balling the wrestlers with certain pay outs and basically treating the wrestlers like sh-t. Wwe should be worried, even heard a rumor about a wrestlers union. Wwe better start making things right and kiss the wrestlers a–es cuz it sounds like this could get ugly. I heard of a sports league locking out players, could wrestlers do something similar to the wrestling companies?. And could the wrestlers afford to do it? Thanks jtg you started this and the belated firing of aw fueled this.

  • Joe momma

i’m not necessarily a huge AW fan but his termination does seem unjust when alot worse has been done before, this year even.

I would have LOVED to see Michael Cole get released and have AW take his place on commentary. Now it’ll never happen. WAY TO SCREW THINGS UP WWE!!!!!!! And i hope that Leprechaun Remake w/ Hornswoggle FLOPS !!!!!!!

    • yes indeed

      It will flop, don’t worry
