-- TNA's Matt Morgan is set to guest star on FOX's The Good Guys on 9/24. He will play a Russian mobster that escapes from prison. Here is the episode description: When Jack and Dan's reckless police work gets them suspended, Dan "borrows" some money from the Narcotics Division to set up an off-the-books sting operation. However, the unauthorized detective work inadvertently finances a prison break, which Jack and Dan must put a stop to before the prisoners can get away and the department finds out, in the "Vacation" fall premiere episode of THE GOOD GUYS airing Friday, Sept. 24.

-- TNA's website has an interview up with Kevin Nash where he says he feels better than he has in about 5-6 years. "I am one injury away from another rehab stint, but then I am sure I would come back again haha. Right now, I feel better than I have in about 5 or 6 years. I've lost a ton of weight and feel great. I don't see myself stopping right now. I would stop when it stops being fun. I still get nervous when I haven't wrestled in a while, but once I get going, I'm back into it. The other week on iMPACT!, I wrestled Jeff Jarrett in my first TV match in months and the next day, I felt great and really cared about what I do out there."

-- A big promotional push for Mick Foley's new book "Countdown to Lockdown" will begin in the next few weeks.

All-Female NXT Season Due To Unhappiness With Current Divas - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
All-Female NXT Season Due To Unhappiness With Current Divas

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
The decision to make the third season of NXT an all-women’s show was likely made very recently because last week, WWE filmed twelve wrestlers at Florida Championship Wrestling, eight men and four women. Initial plans called for four men and four women to be featured in the abbreviated season, but it was later changed to six women.

There is hope that the show will garner better ratings with women prominently featured so they can reach a television deal with another network. There is also hope that Aloisia’s “freak of nature” persona will increase ratings so Syfy will change its mind and renew the program.

Another aspect revolves around unhappiness with many of its current female performers, resulting in the company looking for replacement Divas. Talent relations were unhappy with the behavior of several of the women in recent weeks, particularly when much of the roster was situated in Los Angeles for SummerSlam. It is said that Tiffany and the recently released Serena were not the only ones who made embarrassing scenes in public. Officials are very strict regarding the public image of its talent because of promises to corporate sponsors that World Wrestling Entertainment is a wholesome company.

As things stand now, the show will end its current season on October 1, with a live episode in Oklahoma City as part of a three-hour programming block that will include the network’s debut of Friday Night SmackDown.

Teddy Hart In WWE-Sponsored Rehab - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Teddy Hart In WWE-Sponsored Rehab

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Teddy Hart, the youngest wrestler to be signed to a WWE contract, recently entered a Texas area rehabilitation center on behalf of his former employer. He is staying at the same facility as former WWE performer Scott Hall.

Hart is claiming that he entered rehab at the urging of his uncle, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, who said that if he successfully completes the center’s program, would persuade WWE to give him another shot.

During his last run with AAA, Hart managed to unite the entire locker room against him due to his reputation of changing match finishes and spots to put himself over. His mentality is to perform as many flashy maneuvers in his matches as possible, whether they make sense or not.

Kane Speaks: Not Retiring Any Time Soon, & More

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: Pwinsider.com

World Heavyweight Champion Kane did an interview with the Baltimore Sun's Kevin Eck where he talked about the state of his career and how he feels he's at his peak: "I'm still having fun...I'm really at the height of my career, and I don't have any plans of packing it in, at least not in the near future."

He also talked about how WWE Superstars are overlooked by the general public as performers... "Honestly, I think we in the WWE are very underrated as performers...What we do would be very difficult for even an experienced actor. To go out and sometimes have 15 minutes of verbiage, sometimes have to ad-lib and then, of course, have other variables such as the interaction with the audience, it can be challenging."

TNA Officials Not Confident In Mick Foley, Knockouts PPV In Oct - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
TNA Officials Not Confident In Mick Foley, Knockouts PPV In Oct

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
-- While Mick Foley is expected to return to the squared circle in October at TNA Wrestling’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view event, he is no longer considered a long-term in-ring option by those within the organization. It's a little late for them to be realising this just now that Foley's best days in the ring are behind him, to say the least.

On the night of the company’s big angle where Fortune assaulted EV2.0, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion was instructed to lie down when the lights went out to give the audience the impression that he was laid out during the sequence. While it’s possible this will play into the storyline, there aren’t many people within TNA who feel they can count on him to put on a good match at this point.

-- A new TNA Knockouts-themed pay-per-view broadcast featuring previously aired matches is scheduled to debut Saturday, October 2.

Entitled TNA Wrestling Knockouts: Mad Sexy Vol. 1, its description reads: “TNA Wrestling Knockouts: Mad Sexy Volume 1, hosted by Playboy centerfold and TNA Knockout Christy Hemme, will feature top matches from the past between TNA Knockouts like Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Gail Kim.”

Future Of WWE's NXT Series In Question

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

World Wrestling Entertainment is expected to rush through the current season of WWE NXT with the final episode airing on October 1 just before the premiere of Friday Night SmackDown! on Syfy. The third season of NXT will feature five episodes in total.

While company officials adore NXT and have vowed it will continue, they have been unable to land a new home for the show. With that being said, there was a discussion this past week of moving the show to WGN America. Vince McMahon said that ideally, they would keep both NXT and WWE Superstars.

DDP Suing Band, Celeb Host Unhappy With RAW Appearance - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
DDP Suing Band, Celeb Host Unhappy With RAW Appearance

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- DDP has filed a lawsuit against the band 3OH!3. The suit is for unauthorized use of his Diamond Cutter symbol. You can see the symbol in question in their video at this link on YouTube. DDP has previously sued Jay-Z for his "diamond" hand sign.

-- Actor Justin Long, who hosted WWE RAW on August 16th with “Going The Distance” co-stars Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day, tells MetroNews.ca that the experience was a disaster.

“In no way am I being self-deprecating when I say that was a disaster,” Long said. “It was just not the audience to be promoting a movie like that to. We were so out of place. It was just awkward. They’re all fired up to see guys pummeling each other, not to see three nerdy comedy guys do some bits. They played the trailer for this crowd and it just silenced them — and not in a good way.”

Long continued, saying the crowd in Los Angeles looked like they were ready to attack him and his fellow co-hosts.

“We were in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, and the only time we really had the audience on our side was when we were praising the Lakers. And before that I think the majority of them were contemplating throwing things at us. There were a few homophobic remarks. I don’t want to generalize it, I know some wrestling fans. But it’s just not the audience.”

-- The December 20th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW is scheduled to take place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Tickets go on sale September 25th.

Negative Backstage News On John Cena, Locker Room Unhappy

Posted on 09.02.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch

Vince McMahon noted in a recent interview with the Boston Herald that he held a talent meeting a few years ago urging his performers to "reach for the brass ring" regardless of whom they have to step over. He particularly recalled John Cena approaching him at the end of the meeting to say, 'I'm your man.'

The interview caught the attention of an anonymous wrestler who attended the meeting. He said there were actually five wrestlers who came over to McMahon following the meeting to say they were the right man for the job.

"The only difference is that Cena did his 'stepping over guys' in the locker room more than the ring," said the wrestler.

The anonymous wrestler feels McMahon was looking for a "backstabbing asshole/stooge" to serve as his top WWE Superstar.

"It has zero to do with in-ring talent," the wrestler said. "Cena stepped on guys like the Spirit Squad and others who were only there for less than six months."

Locker Room Pissed Off, Kurt Pushing For Young Wrestler

Posted on 09.01.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- Kurt Angle made a pitch to the TNA office for an on-screen feud with X Division wrestler The Amazing Red, following a match the two had on an episode of iMPACT a few weeks ago. According to a source within the company, Kurt was really excited about doing it, but TNA turned it down. Kurt feels that he and Red could do a lot of cool stuff in the ring together.

-- There was what has been described as "significant dressing room unrest" from several key stars within TNA who felt it was a big mistake to push the EV2.0 group on television, more specifically as the top babyface group. A good number of top main event performers in the company were strongly against TNA bringing them and even doing the "Hardcore Justice" themed PPV in the first place. They were especially pissed about the payday the ECW guys got. Meanwhile, others in the company are happy.

WWE Star Injured, Out Several Months (Contains Spoilers)

Posted on 09.01.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Joey Mercury will be out of action for several months after undergoing surgery over the weekend to repair a torn pectoral muscle. It's considered a six month recovery process.

SPOILER ALERT:

Despite the injury, Mercury is expected to remain on TV. Many feel that with Serena's recent release, it wasn't a good time to remove Mercury from television since the Straight Edge Society wouldn't be much of a group with two people. However, Punk and Gallows broke up at the following last night's SmackDown !television taping in Albany, NY, so the injury may have been the catalyst to disband the group. It sure seemed like it last night - the S.E.S is ending.

The Rock In 3D, PPV Posters For Hell In A Cell & Bragging Rights

Posted on 09.01.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- Cable provider iNDEMAND has released the promotional posters for WWE's October pay-per-view events, Hell in a Cell (10/4) and Bragging Rights (10/28). The posters are different from the unofficial posters that have been circulating online in recent weeks, which were fan creations. The Hell in a Cell poster features The Undertaker (view here) and the Bragging Rights poster features The Miz (view here).

-- The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been cast in the lead role of "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," the sequel to 2008's "Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D." Johnson will play "the boyfriend of explorer Josh Hutcherson's mom, who Hutcherson is forced to bring on a trip to a mythical and monstrous island to find his missing grandfather."

The first "Journey" movie starred actor Brandon Frasier, but he and the studio were unable to agree on the sequel's filming schedule, so he was replaced. Frasier was the star of the movie which launched Johnson's movie career back in 2001, The Mummy Returns.

Jim Cornette Challenges Vince Russo To A Fight - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Jim Cornette Challenges Vince Russo To A Fight

Posted on 09.01.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Kayfabe Commentaries sent out the following today…

CORNETTE CHALLENGES RUSSO TO CHARITY FIGHT AT RING ROASTS

Jim Cornette's seemingly endless, diabolical ploy to plague Vince Russo's dreams seems to know no bounds. Earlier in the year, TNA involved local authorities in warning Cornette that he had crossed a line. After some silence, it seems the jabber-jawed Ring of Honor GM has thought of a resolution to this (rather one-sided) war, once and for all.

Cornette has challenged Vince Russo to a fight at the third annual Ring Roasts, which is being held this October 15 at the Crowne Plaza in Monroe, NJ. In a promo released today on the Ring Roasts website (www.ringroasts.com), Cornette offers to donate his end of any purse money to the WHAS Crusade for Children in Louisville, an organization that helps disadvantaged children.

Cornette and Russo worked side-by-side on WWE and TNA's creative team. Cornette had developed a distaste for Russo, his booking style, and generally anything north of Delaware.

Ring Roasts is an annual comedic tribute co-promoted by Kayfabe Commentaries and Legends of the Ring. Tickets and more information about the roast is available at www.ringroasts.com.

WWE SmackDown SPOILER Results - September 3, 2010

Posted on 09.01.10 by Jason Stone | Results |
*Smackdown opens up with the ring decorated in balloons, a pinata wearing a Rey mask hanging in the middle of the ring, red/white/green streamers, a table with champagne and servants with hor dourves. Alberto Del Rio comes out and talks about destroying Rey Mysterio. He takes a stick and hits the pinata. He says Rey is just like the pinata, a burro. Christian interrupts him and says he knows who he is, he's JBL - Juan Bradshaw Layfield. He says he's joking and knows he's Enrique Iglesias. Christian starts to sing 'Hero'. He tells Del Rio he saw what he did to his friend Rey and came out to confront him. Del Rio tells him to leave before he ends up like Rey. The two stare off but Del Rio tells him they'll meet another place and time. He leaves Christian in the ring, who is attacked by Drew McIntyre (Drew came through the crowd, he tried to jump the barricade but tripped and fell; that will be edited out). The two have a match which is now in progress....

*Christian pinned Drew McIntyre.

*Michelle McCool pinned Kelly Kelly. Layla El was on commentary.

*WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler pinned Chris Masters.

*The Big Show defeated CM Punk and Luke Gallows in a handicap match. Punk nailed Gallows with the GTS after the match.

*The VIP Lounge is the All American American Lounge since Jack Swagger gets to host, since he beat MVP last week. Swagger comes out with his father, who is still in a wheelchair from the injuries Kane caused several months back. Swagger Sr. said that he was proud of his son and wants him to do pushups for a minute. Swagger is doing them when MVP comes out. They argue back and forth and Swagger Sr. falls out of the wheelchair. MVP tosses Swagger out of the ring and nails Swagger Sr. with the Ballin' elbow.

*Cody Rhodes pinned Matt Hardy. Before the match, Rhodes made fun of Hardy's appearances and said if anyone needed a tire, Matt has a spare.

*WWE World champion Kane cut a promo on the Titantron, saying he would defend his title at the Night of Champions and destroy the Undertaker once and for all. The Druids come out with a coffin. Kane pops out and says he was always the "other brother" and the "afterthought" but now the roles are reversed and Undertaker is in his shadow. Kane says Taker is weak and Kane saw his weakness when he left Taker comatose. Kane says their saga is over. Taker will be no more and nothing will stop him from destroying Taker. The lights go out and when they return, Taker is in the ring. The lights go out again and when they return, Kane is gone. Undertaker goes to the coffin and opens it but there's nothing inside. Kane appears on the Tron and promises he is going to destroy the Undertaker at the Night of Champions.

John Cena Says UFC Is Too "Over The Top"

Posted on 08.31.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE RAW star John Cena was interviewed this week by The Boston Globe and said despite its growing popularity, he's not a fan of UFC and mixed martial arts. "It’s just not something that particularly interests me,’’ Cena said. "UFC is where boxing was years ago, and I was never really into boxing, either.’’

Cena says he prefers pro wrestling because it’s “regulated entertainment that’s safe for anyone to enjoy.’’

As for UFC ... “It is what it is. It can be pretty over the top, and it’s not something I’d want my children to watch.’’

-- The Undertaker , Bret Hart, Chris Jericho and Katie Vick trended last night on Twitter during RAW.

-- Chris Jericho said on his Twitter account Monday night that he was asked to be a contestant on the new season of Dancing with the Stars but declined due to scheduling conflicts. He added he hopes to be a part of the show in the future.

-- WWE officials were reportedly upset with some of its female performers following the company's recent tour in California, which resulted in the suspension of Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) and the release of Serena. It is said that there was "too much drama" amongst the Divas during its West Coast swing. Paging Dr. Phil.

Backstage News On Jericho's Future: Contract Not Signed

Posted on 08.31.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer

On Monday's RAW, Chris Jericho announced that he will be leaving WWE once and for all if he does not win the WWE Championship in the 6-pack challenge match at Night of Champions. With Jericho's WWE contract expiring soon and talk that he's strongly considering leaving the company to pursue his career in the entertainment industry, it appears WWE has begun setting the stage for his possible departure.

As of this past weekend, a WWE source stated that Jericho still has not signed a new contract. It's still entirely possible that Jericho re-signs, but since Jericho has acknowledged in several recent interviews that his contract is expiring and he's considering moving on, WWE has incorporated the real situation into WWE storylines.

Jericho has said he wants more time off to to spend with his family, record music and tour with his heavy metal band Fozzy and pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry.

What You Didn't See On RAW: Major Cage Match

Posted on 08.31.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Following tonight's edition of WWE Raw from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, Sheamus defeated The Undertaker and John Cena to retain the WWE Championship in a steel cage match in the dark match main event. Undertaker used the Hell's Gate submission hold on Cena.

After the match, Kane ran out followed by The Nexus. Kane and The Undertaker fought while The Nexus attacked Cena. MVP, Mark Henry, John Morrison, Evan Bourne and Matt Hardy (who was selling a limp) made the save.

After the other four members of The Nexus were taken out, everyone hit their finishers on Wade Barrett to end the taping and send the crowd home happy.

WWE Monday Night RAW Results - August 30, 2010

Posted on 08.31.10 by Jason Stone | Results |
Event: WWE Monday Night RAW
Airdate: Monday, August 30th, 2010 (USA Network)
Location: The TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts
Results by 411 Mania

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

-And we kick things off with a video package highlighting Raw through the years. It's a feat so monumental it's never been done before. Stone Cold's beer bath. Jericho's debut. Show throwing Mayweather. The Game's return in 2002. 900 episodes. It's record breaking dammit. We then cut to the normal Raw opening video package (for those of you wondering, there's no new WWE symbol or anything). Coleslaw and Lawler welcome us in, hyping up the evening. Tonight we'll see Cena, Sheamus, Jericho, Edge and Orton face The Nexus in an elimination tag team match.

-And we're kicking things off with an appearance from Bret Hart. Hart says hello to Boston. 17 years ago a new show debuted called Monday Night Raw. He confesses that even back then he wondered if Raw would catch on, but thanks to the fans, 900 episodes later it looks to be doing pretty damn good. In fact, Raw has the most shows in the history of prime time television. Since the very beginning. There was only one other wrestler whose still here who was there back then. And that's the Undertaker. So he thought it might be appropriate... and here comes Kane.

Kane says there is no Undertaker anymore. Thanks to him physically decimating him and leaving him to rot in a vegetative state, Undertaker is a phenom no longer. He's not phenomenal in any way. He's just a man. A man that Bret once knew. He's like Bret. Weak, feeble, straggly, over the hill, irreversibly damaged. His brother ended the career of Shawn Michaels. Bret must have loved that. A man Bret seemingly made amends with but really demised seen laid to rest. Bret says he's going to love it when Undertaker gets his hands on Kane and beats him like he always does. Kane says the only thing he's only ever wanted was to break out of Taker's shadow and to prove he's the best. The Undertaker took out an icon in Shawn Michaels, that means Kane needs to do the same. He needs to take out an icon of his own. He needs to take out you. Kane goozles Bret. And here comes the Hart Dynasty, but Kane attacks them first. Bret starts fighting back but to no avail. Lights out bitch. They're back on, and Taker's in the ring. He and Kane stare down. Kane starts laughing and bails out. Kane says not yet. Coleslaw's got an email. Cole says he's seen this iconic moments taking place. The GM has decided to make Bret Hart vs the Undertaker. What? The crowd really doesn't know what to think of that. Taker stares at Bret as Bret leaves the ring. Lawler says this is going to be awesome.

-We're shown highlights from the first episode of Raw.

-Did you know that Raw has aired more episodes than Survivor, Amazing Race and American Idol COMBINED? Also, does anyone care?

-We're shown highlights of Austin driving the Zamboni into the arena and taking out Mr. McMahon.

Match 1: Michael McGillicutty and Kofi Kingston vs Kaval and Daniel Bryan vs Alex Riley and WWE United States Champion/Mr. Money in the Bank The Miz - Triple Threat Tag Team match

Riley and Kofi and Bryan start off. Riley takes out Bryan. Kick by Kofi to Bryan. Bryan with a kick to Kofi and he slaps Miz. Bryan with forearm shots to Riley. And now kicks in the corner. SOS to Bryan by Kofi. Pin but Riley breaks it up. Sitout scoop slam to Kofi. Pin but only two. Knee lift by Bryan to Riley. Kofi gets back in control. Boom Drop to Riley. Pin but Bryan breaks it up. Kofi ducks a clothesline and both guys crossbody each other. Kaval and Michael get the tags. Michael in control. Dragon Sleeper out of a head scissors by Kaval. Riley breaks it up. Miz gets the blind tag. Kaval with a huge dropkick to Riley. Michael rolls up Kaval but only gets two. Kaval with a rolling Liger kick. He heads up to the top. Warriors Way connects. Miz runs in and hits Kaval with the Skull Crushing Finale. Forget about it.

Winners: The Miz and Alex Riley (Short but pretty entertaining. Still, the team of Bryan and Kaval was pretty random, but I'm not gonna complain. Still, this was a nice way to get the NXT guys some air time, but it could have used some more time)

Bryan takes out Riley. Miz runs in and clocks Bryan with the briefcase. Miz and Riley celebrate their win as they walk off.

-Later tonight, Bret Hart and the Undertaker will face off. Also, the 5 on 5 Tag Team Elimination match is still yet to come.

-WWE Slam of the Week, presented by Mafia 2, is Melina defeating Jillian Hall last week, only for LayCool to announce their appearance on Raw next week (which would be now).

Match 2: Co-Women's Champions Team LayCool vs Eve Torres and Diva's Champion Melina

Michelle and Melina start off. Forearm shots by Melina. Michelle with a belly to belly. Pin but only two. Layla gets the tag and slams Melina's face into the mat. Layla now taunting Melina. Melina pushes Layla into Michelle. Roll up and it's over?

Winners: Melina and Eve (Uh... whatever)

Michelle and Layla grab mics. Michelle says the victory was a lot like her. Completely forgetable. Layla says Melina's gonna cry. They need to find out who the real champ is in the WWE. So, they're challenging Melina to a unification match at Night of Champions. One of them will face Melina. And when they win, they unify the titles. Yay. Melina says she had a feeling they were going to propose something like that, and she came prepared. She accepts, but it'll be a lumberjack match. LayCool agrees, and no one cares. All the Diva's show up on the stage.

-We get highlights of the epic NXT rookie attack on Cena.

-The Nexus is in the back. Tarver says because they kicked out Young and Sheffield is injured, they're low in numbers. Barrett says they're going to be 5 of the biggest superstars in WWE history. They need to do something tonight unforgettable. And Barrett knows exactly what that is.

-WWE.com is looking back at the 900 episodes of Raw, if you actually care.

-We're shown highlights from the Price is Raw.

-Matthews is in the back with Jericho. Jericho asks if when he says he's the best in the world, do you think he says it as a gimmick. He says it because it's true. But people don't believe that to be the case. Chris had an epiphany. He knows he's the greatest, and if he doesn't win the WWE Championship at Night of Champions, that's it. That's the last we'll see of him in the WWE. Do you think he's joking? Do you wanna see how much confidence he has? He's going to prove tonight that he's the best in the world at what he does.

Match 3: John Morrison and R-Truth vs "Dashing" Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre - Number One Contenders match to WWE Tag Team Championship

Rhodes' jacket has a mirror on the back of it. Tremendous. Coleslaw says this match will be a slobber knocker. Truth and Rhodes start things off. Rhodes with a kick to the gut, runs off the ropes but gets hit with a hip toss. Rhodes knocks Morrison off the apron, and Truth goes on the attack. All four guys are in the ring now and it's madness. The ref rings the bell and this just won't stop.

Winner: No Contest (This was pretty random and overall served no purpose)

Truth dives over the top and takes out Rhodes. Big boot by McIntyre to Morrison. Morrison slides out of a powerslam attempt and dropkicks McIntyre in the back. Truth and Morrison walk off with Truth's music playing

-Bret Hart will face Undertaker next.

-Did You Know, Jersey Shore will reach it's 900th episode in 2083, and Snooki will be 83 years old at that time. I'm actually more curious as to who in the fuck thought that was interesting.

-We're shown highlights of the January 4th episode of Raw, where Shawn and Bret made amends.

Match 4: Bret Hart vs Undertaker

Both guys get ready to go, but here comes Wade Barrett. He says this match is not going to happen. People don't want to talk about two legends, they want to talk about the future, and the future is Nexus. He said he was going to do something unforgettable. And he's going to do that by taking out Taker. He runs in and attacks Taker. Big mistake. Big boot by Taker. Taker clotheslines him over the top. Lights out. They come back on and Kane is in the ring. Both guys trade rights now. Kane with the upper hand. Goozle by Taker, and the lights have gone back out. They're back on, and Kane is gone. And here comes the Nexus. They surround the ring. Taker goes after Tarver and the rest of them. Taker's in control. He goozles Barrett, but the lights have gone back out again. They turn back on, and Barrett has Taker on his shoulders. Wasteland by Barrett. Kane stands on the ramp watching on. They position Taker in the corner. Gabriel to the top. 450! Taker tries to sit up, but can't. Kane laughs at the top of the ramp as we head to commercial.

-We get a recap of the events that just occurred.

-And here comes Jack Swagger. All hail a returning, conquering, all American hero. When he left Raw, he was an all American American. Now he returns a former world champion. He can understand why Johnny Damon wouldn't want to come back to Boston, but he has no problem being a little swagger back to Raw. And here comes Evan Bourne.

Match 4: Jack Swagger vs Evan Bourne

Kick by Swagger, and he goes on the attack with clubbing blows. Swagger throws Bourne into the turnbuckle. Kick to the leg by Bourne, and some more. But here comes Albert Del Rio. In the limo. He's beeping the horn like crazy. His announcer introduces him. The match is still going on though. Old school Randy Orton like pyro goes off on the stage. Swagger shoulder blocking Bourne in the corner. Bourne goes for the running powerslam, but Bourne slides out the back. Spin kick by Bourne. He heads up to the top. AIR BOURNE MISSES! Swagger chop blocks the leg. Ankle Lock applied. Bourne has no choice but to tap.

Winner: Jack Swagger (Really unncessary, but it did give Swagger a win while getting Rio some on screen air time on Raw, so it did accomplish some stuff. Still, there was literally nothing to the match other than the angle)

Alberto Del Rio introduces himself. He says next to me, the little kiwaya Rey Mysterio isn't going to be here tonight. In fact, the only place you can see Rey is in the hospital. What he did to Rey last weekk as phenomenal. Incredible. He's going to be honest though, he's not completely happy. The audience from Raw didn't see it though. So this is what he's going to do. He's going to recreate that magic moment, just for us. Right here, right now, but with a different kiwaya. He grabs a chair and runs into the ring. He puts Bourne in the juji gatame. Bourne starts tapping like a mad man. Rio releases the hold and kicks Bourne in the back. He brings the chair to the outside with Bourne. He locks Bourne's arm in the chair, and here comes Mark Henry to the rescue. Rio goes to hit Henry with the chair, but Henry runs right through it. Rio runs back up the ramp.

-Coleslaw and Lawler talk about their recent tour of China. We get a video package highlighting the events.

-THIS IS YOUR LIFE!! Best segment ever.

-And we're going to continue that awesomeness with CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society. It's really not the same without Serena though. Punk asks if we know who he's better than. The Rock. He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke and he doesn't make crappy movies like The Tooth Fairy. Do you people like The Rock? Do you people miss The Rock on Monday Night Raw? CM Punk doesn't miss the Rock. It's because The Rock epitomizes this septic tank of a show that is Monday Night Raw. 900 shows is a milestone, but for 900 shows Raw has promoted poor family values. He's got two words for us. Katie Vick. YES! And if you don't get it, that's fine, but youtube it and it will drive yout to drink and then see CM Punk and he'll save us. Punk here to show us some of the most atrocious acts by Raw superstars. Exhibit A: Property damage. We see Triple H invading Orton's home and beating the shit out of him. People acting like animals. Exhibit B: Irresponisble and Reckless Behavior. We see Cena throwing Edge into the Long Island Sound. Punk for one would never throw another competitor into any body of water (coughChavo Guerrero). Exhibit C: Trespassing. DX invading WCW. And last but not least, Exhibit D: Dumb, excessive use of alcohol via fire hose. Yeah, I think you all know what this one is. Punk can't find the words to describe that. He says we would all lie and empty our pockets to see Stone Cold walk down the ramp and spray CM Punk with beer via a fire hose. That's the kind of GLASS SHATTERS MOTHERFUCKER!

But there's no one there. Punk starts laughing on the ground. Did you fall for it? Are you dissapointed? Do you feel empty inside? Well good, because that's how dissapointed Punk feels when he sees each and every one of us. He's happy we're dissapointed. And he's going to show us one more clip and leave on a high note. This clip is from a good show, Smackdown. It's a clip of Lesnar superplexing Big Show through the ring. Punk says he can watch that clip over and over, because it represents everything he could never be. It represents being criminally obese, he doesn't know who the other guy was, but Big Show was so big... And here comes Show.

Punk says we get Austin's music and no Austin but get Big Show's music and instead get Captain Insano. Show said he lost some weight and then found it. If Show wants to embarass him, talk about something really embarasing, like Eddie Guerrero giving him that burrito that left him constipated for five days. Or the time he did the sum wrestling thing. If you really want to bring up something embarassing, video of him kissing Vickie Guerrero. Show loves to make people laugh, he does impersonations. Let Me Tell You Something Brother, They're Running Wild Brother, StraightEdge Society DUDE!! Punk says that was boring, that was not funny and no one likes you. Ha. Show raises his hand. He says that was mean. Punk says you want mean? There is nothing high about the Straight Edge Society, and that's what makes them better than you. Show says he's not high but just tall. Show takes out Punk and Gallows. Punk and Matthews bail out. Show clotheslines Gallows over the top as the SES backs off. For as terrible as this Raw's been, CM Punk just single handedly, with a little help from Big Show, saved it.

-If I see one more "Did You Know" fact, I'm gonna go crazy. STOP TELLING US IT'S THE 900TH EPISODE. WE GET IT.

-We're shown highlights of Triple H's return in 2002, only to be interrupted by Kurt Angle.

-Josh Matthews welcomes the WWE Champion, Sheamus. And here he comes. Sheamus interrupts Matthews. He says after 900 episodes of Raw, everyone is here to celebrate, except Triple H. He's never coming back. How is it fair that he has to defend his title in a Six Pack at Night of Champions. We're all just a bunch of plastic pladdies. The only real Irishman here is Sheamus. And in spite of the Six Pack Challenge, he has to tag with four of his PPV opponents. One of which is Randy Orton, a man who tried to end his career. Never in the history of Raw a champion has never been treated more poorly (coughRey Mysterio). Here comes Edge. He says Sheamus was giving him a headache fella. Since Edge debuted on Raw, he's been thrown in the long island sound, deranged ex employees run at him through the crowd, been thrown through tables and everything, but he's given back three times as many. He's won 29 championships in the WWE. He's won the Royal Rumble, KOTR, and MITB. He's going to win the Six Pack Challenge. He's going to become the new WWE Champion. Edge heads down to the ring. Their match will start next.

Match 5: WWE Champion Sheamus, Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and John Cena vs The Nexus (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver and Heath Slater) - 5 on 5 Elimination Tag Team match

Everyone makes their entrances and whatnot. This match will start after this next commercial break.

Jericho and Tarver start things off. Loud "Y2J" chant. Jericho bails out and walks to the back. The ref starts the count, and Jericho starts to second guess that decision. He goes to run back, but decides to leave anyways.

Eliminated: Chris Jericho via countout

Edge is now in. He shoves the ref and gets DQ'd.

Eliminated: Edge via disqualification

Cena's now in. Cena throws Tarver into the corner. Bulldog connects. Big right hands by Cena, and Sheamus gets the tag. Sheamus working down Tarver in the corner. Big short arm clothesline connects. Pin but only two. Slater gets the tag but runs into a clothesline. Suplex by Sheamus. Pin but only two. Sheamus with knee lifts in the corner. Sheamus brings Slater to the outside and hits him with a elbow to the throat. Back in the ring but only gets two on the pin. Otunga gets the tag. Headlock by Otunga. Sheamus pushes him off and no one gets pushes over on the shoulder block. Otunga poses but gets clotheslined. Big kick by Otunga but he gets drilled with an Irish Hammer. Otunga whips Sheamus hard into the corner. Mounted punches by Otunga. Slater gets the tag and starts stomping Sheamus. Gabriel gets the tag. Right hands by Gabriel, and here comes Barrett. Barrett works down Sheamus and tags in Slater. Bow and arrow submission applied by Slater. Sheamus fights back up but Sltaer goes for a backslide. Sheamus flips him over and goes for the High Cross, but Tarver pulls Slater down. Running forearm smash by Slater. Sheamus starts fighting back, but Gabriel drills him with a kick on the apron. Zig Zag by Slater.

Eliminated: Sheamus by Heath Slater

Cena's in and immediately rushes in for the 5 moves of doom on Slater. You Can't See Me. Five Knuckle Shuffle connects. Attitude Adjustment follows. Pin and he's out.

Eliminated: Heath Slater by John Cena

Barrett runs in and takes it to Cena. He throws Cena outside, and Nexus goes on the attack. Barrett takes Cena and throws him into the announce table. Back in the ring now as Barrett covers but only gets two. Gabriel gets the tag and hits Cena with a huge spin kick. Pin but only two. Gabriel with a splash in the corner. Pin but again only two. Otunga now in and goes on the attack. Suplex attempt countered into a suplex by Cena. Otunga takes out Orton before he can get the tag. Cena with a drop toe hold and locks in the STF. Otunga taps.

Eliminated: David Otunga by John Cena

Gabriel goes to the top and immediately hits Cena with a 450. He's out!

Eliminated: John Cena by Justin Gabriel

RKO to Gabriel!

Eliminated: Justin Gabriel by Randy Orton

RKO to Tarver!

Eliminated: Michael Tarver by Randy Orton

Wasteland by Barrett. It's over.

Eliminated: Randy Orton by Wade Barrett

Winners: The Nexus (Solid main event and a much needed win for Nexus. It wasn't anything epic, but it did a good job of putting over some members of the Nexus, such as Gabriel pinning Cena and Slater pinning Sheamus)

Team 3D's TNA Contracts Expire, Jarrett Marries Angle's Ex

Posted on 08.30.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
-- PWInsider.com has confirmed that Team 3D's TNA contracts expired on Saturday.

-- It would appear that Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle's ex-wife Karen have tied the knot as she recently changed her Twitter handle from Karen Angle to Karen Jarrett. She announced in April that she and Jarrett were engaged.

Following her October 2008 divorce from Kurt, Karen became romantically linked to the TNA Wrestling co-founder. The relationship was said to have started while Karen and Kurt were separated. The situation was revealed in July 2009 when a caller claiming to be a former TNA employee called The Bubba the Love Sponge Show.

Dixie Carter: TNA Has Signed A Top Free Agent

Posted on 08.30.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter has posted a message on Twitter.com/TNADixie announcing the company has signed a top free agent:

"Just signed a new talent contract on someone you guys have been asking about. Stay tuned!"

While we haven’t gotten confirmation yet about who has signed with TNA, the timing seems to coincide with the expiration of Carlito’s 90-day no-compete clause. Mickie James has to be another possibility here, as she’s available to sign with TNA and has met with Dixie Carter a few times in recent months.

Let the speculation begin...

WWE In Talks With 6-Foot 9 Diva - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
WWE In Talks With 6-Foot 9 Diva

Posted on 08.30.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE is currently negotiating to sign a woman would be the largest diva in company history.

We've received word that WWE has signed or is close to signing 6-foot 9-inch female independent wrestler Isis The Amazon to a developmental deal. You can check out her official website at http://www.isistheamazon.com/

She recently attended WWE's week-long talent search at Florida Championship Wrestling and has been spotted at a few developmental shows in recent weeks.

Isis is taller than any Diva to ever a grace a WWE ring and is bigger than most of the WWE roster. Standing at 6-feet 9-inches tall, the larger-than-life woman got a lot of attention at WWE's recent week-long evaluation at Florida Championship Wrestling. To put into perspective just show tall Isis is, she would tower over guys like John Cena and Randy Orton and is just a few inches shorter than the Big Show.

Besides wrestling, Isis has also done some modeling and acting work.

Fight Breaks Out At House Show Over A John Cena T-Shirt - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Fight Breaks Out At House Show Over A John Cena T-Shirt

Posted on 08.30.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

A brawl broke out involving a bunch of fans at Sunday's WWE RAW house show in Newark, New Jersey.

According to a fan who witnessed the incident, the melee lasted approximately 15 minutes before Prudential Center staff broke it up. If the report is accurate, a 15-minute altercation is totally out of hand and security obviously wasn't on their A-game that night. The correspondent noted that over 10 people were ejected from the arena and some children were hurt during the brawl.

Believe it or not, the whole thing was over a T-shirt John Cena had thrown to the crowd just before his Steel Cage Match with Sheamus.

Randy Orton Pulled From Match - Neck In Rough Shape

Posted on 08.30.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer

Randy Orton was pulled out of a planned cage match with Sheamus last night at a house show in Newark, NJ due to a stiff neck. He worked an angle with John Cena where Cena fought Sheamus and Orton was put in a six-man tag, allowing him to protect his neck.

Orton's injury is not immediately being considered serious, but he will likely have it checked out before RAW this week in Boston, MA. Sources say he'll be in the house for the show either way.

Vince McMahon On Cena: "He's An Extraordinary Human" - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Vince McMahon On Cena: "He's An Extraordinary Human"

Posted on 08.29.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
The Boston Herald recently interviewed Vince McMahon, where Vince put over John Cena big-time. "You have to start with the quality of the human being. John is an extraordinary human being; he's honest, he's loyal. He's full of himself, too. But he's like a throwback to the type of individual it's difficult find these days, someone with old-fashioned values," McMahon said. "In addition to that, he's a Neanderthal when it comes to strength."

“No matter how good you are as a human being, you need talent. You could tell that John had talent - very raw talent, mind you.‘

According to the article, Vince held a meeting with WWE talent years ago, saying he was looking for someone who was ready to reach for the brass ring.

"Step on people on the way over if you have to. Apologize later. I'm looking for someone with courage that wants to break out and be ballsy enough to take on the responsibility of being the top guy."

"At the end of the meeting, someone came over and said, ‘I'm your man,' and that was John."

UFC & WWE's Popularity, Sheamus vs. Orton, Carlito Speaks

Linda was a professional that got things done. I worked with her on "smackdown ur vote" among many other projects. She is smart, bright and a true leader. I am now in tna and it doesn't benefit me to talk about linda or what a great woman she is. I saw with my own eyes. She's honest, sincere and always looked out for what was best to her employees. Linda was the positiveness in wwe. She has the qualities that I would want in a politician. She listens to you, and always does the right thing. If I were living in connecticut, I would vote for her with pride and an eagerness to get the economy, real estate and health reform back on track. Remember, I'm in tna and I don't plan on leaving but I want what is best for this country, and linda mcmahon has that "IT" factor you rarely see in today's leaders. Good luck linda. GOD bless, kurt angle 1996 olympic gold medalist and proud AMERICAN

SyFy Filming At WWE Developmental – For NXT Season 3?

Posted on 08.27.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
The SyFy network once again had their TV cameras at the WWE developmental FCW tapings this week filming matches.

Based on who wrestled at the tapings, you could speculate as to who might be on season 3 of NXT.

Superstars that wrestled and haven’t previously appeared on NXT included Xavier Woods, Idol Stevens, Bo Rotunda, Richie Steamboat, Wes Brisco, Tag Team Champions Johnny Curtis & Derrick Bateman, Hunico & Epico and FCW Heavyweight Champion Mason Ryan.

There have yet to be Diva Rookies on NXT, but we’ve heard that the idea is being strongly considered for Season 3. Divas in action included Aksana, AJ Lee, Livianna and FCW Divas Champion Naomi Night.

The Florida Championship Wrestling website recently confirmed that it will be holding live events in the coming weeks featuring the stars of “NXT Season 3,” so perhaps we’ll see NXT Season 3 on SyFy in some capacity this fall.

Mike Benoit said Chris always wanted to be a wrestler. The show gives an overview of Chris Benoit's career. Michael Benoit said the Benoit we saw in the ring was not the Benoit he knew. He said he knew Chris as a devoted dad. The show goes over the June 2007 murder/suicide. The show reveals that Chris Benoit looked up the prophet Elijah on the internet.. One story from Elijah was about how a prophet could rise a child from the dead and lay him on his own bed. They reveal that Daniel was laying in his bed.

Michael Benoit then said he watched tv 24 hours a day waiting to hear someone say something nice about his son, and he said it wasn't happening. He said the event was a nightmare.

Dr. Julian Bailes wanted to examine Chris' brain, and he said that Chris Benoit's brain had a neurobehavioral change much like the athletes' brains Dr. Bailes studied. They went over Benoit's being hit with chairs, ladders, etc. Michael said his son told him that he had so many concussions, he stopped counting.

The show talks about the media coverage of the case focusing on "roid rage." Toxology reports revealed that Chris Benoit had steroids in his system. Dr. Bailes said since the murders happened over the course of three days, he didn't think that roid rage which is a snap judgement/emotions. He didn't think roid rage explained his behavior. Michael questioned the roid rage explanation, and wanted answers so he allowed his son's brain for research.

Michael Benoit then talked about his son's accomplishments and he said his son destroyed that image in three days.

When brain was examined, the examination revealed Benoit's brain was extensively damaged. They talked about how Pittsburgh Steeler center Mike Webster was a shell of himself when he retired. Webster died homeless. Webster's brain was examined. They talk about a condition called CTE, which the doctor wants to call "Mike Webster's Disease." Dr. Bailes said Webster's and Benoit's brains were similarly damaged.

Michael Benoit said the research gave him a good understanding of what happened to his son. He still gets emotional hearing that his son's brain was heavily damaged. He said he thought that is why Chris suffered from insomnia, mood swings, and drank heavily right before the tragedy happened. He said Chris was going downhill. He said Chris had become an extremely religious person who could quote Bible Scriptures and that is not how Chris was. Dr. Bailes said in some cases a person with this sort of brain damage can develop a religiosity and he thinks it is very likely the case with Chris Benoit

Michael Benoit feels that if his son had not become a professional wrestler, Chris would still be alive.

The show revealed that WWE has questioned these medical findings and said that Michael Benoit's claim that head trauma cause his son's behaviour is impossible and said if Benoit had brain damage, he would not have been able to perform as a wrestler.

Michael Benoit , in response to those who say his son's brain damage is an excuse said, "What's their excuse?" and reiterated that his son's choice of profession was the reason his son committed the tragedy.

Lance Cade's Father Says Linda McMahon Disrespected Cade - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Lance Cade's Father Says Linda McMahon Disrespected Cade

Posted on 08.26.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Harley McNaught, father of former WWE performer Lance McNaught (a/k/a Lance Cade), responded to Linda McMahon’s recent statements regarding his deceased son.

McMahon claimed to the Connecticut Post last week that she “might have met him once” when asked if she knew the former WWE Tag Team Champion.

Reiterating the details of the WWE’s Wellness Program, she then told reporters that World Wrestling Entertainment can no more be held accountable for deaths of performers “than a film studio could have prevented Heath Ledger’s death”.

“Who knows what causes people to have addictions and do what they do?” she added.

Her flippant response has left Harley and his family furious.

“I’ve been with him on two different WWE functions where she came up to him and knew him by name,” McNaught said in an interview with TheDay.com.

“She disrespected him,” McNaught said. “She disrespected my family.”

A McMahon campaign spokesman said it “certainly wasn’t Linda’s intent to diminish any additional interaction she may have had” with McNaught.

“WWE has nearly 600 employees and about 140 performers, and I think it’s understandable that Linda may not recollect every interaction she’s had, particularly given the fact that she’s personally met with thousands of voters since resigning her position at WWE in September,” said Ed Patru. “Linda’s a very kind and sympathetic person, but she is human.”

McNaught added that Lance, “would have cut his arm off for Vince McMahon, but it wasn’t there in return. [Vince] don’t care any more than the man in the moon for them, other than as dollar signs.”

Stacy Keibler Is Single, Alberto Del Rio's Push, HBK Video

Posted on 08.26.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- Great news for men everywhere. Former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler has split with longtime boyfriend, actor Geoff Stults, reports the New York Post. The story notes that Keibler and Stults discussed getting engaged last year, but they have since gone their separate ways.

-- WWE newcomer Alberto Del Rio made his SmackDown debut last week, defeating former World Heavyweight champion Rey Mysterio by submission. During the match, Todd Grisham said that won a gold medal in the 1999 Pan-American Games in Greco-Roman wrestling. This is actually false. Alberto, representing Mexico, placed 4th at 211 pounds, and was one match short of winning a medal. WWE has done something similar with Jack Swagger – calling him a two-time All-American when he really was a one-time All-American.

The plan is to push Del Rio all the way as a top heel, with the idea of eventually turning him babyface in the role of WWE’s top Latin superstar.

-- Shawn Michaels has a new YouTube video showing off his new glasses:

Batista Lands NBC Role, Chyna Bitten By Spider, MVP

Posted on 08.26.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- MVP noted on Twitter that his new theme song will debut on SmackDown within a few weeks.

-- Batista is the latest former WWE performer to land a role on the NBC show “Chuck.” Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello confirmed Thursday that Batista, Eric Roberts and Joel David Moore will appear in the upcoming season’s fourth episode as “Soldiers of Fortune who had a friendship with Casey dating back to the Clinton era.” According to the report, they have since gone rogue, and will be seeking revenge on their ex-comrade. Previous wrestlers who have appeared on “Chuck” include Steve Austin and Stacy Keibler. Austin will be reprising his role on the show this season as well.

-- Former WWE Diva Chyna was reportedly bit by a poisonous spider this week and performed surgery on herself with a swiss army knife to treat the wound. According to TMZ.com, Chya was allegedly bitten by while changing in her bathroom. She went to her doctor, who recommended that she visit the emergency room – but because hospitalization was too expensive, she opted to perform surgery on herself. That sounds about right.

The Real Reason RVD Is Off TNA TV - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
The Real Reason RVD Is Off TNA TV

Posted on 08.25.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Because of the new tournament involving the now vacated TNA World Heavyweight Championship (an idea done at the last minute), all previous booking plans for the Bound for Glory PPV in October has changed. The planned angle of having Kurt Angle go from No. 10 to No. 1 in the rankings leading to a title match and most likely title win at Bound for Glory is now off because of the tournament.

As reported earlier, TNA's deal with Rob Van Dam was running out of dates and they ran this angle to explain his absence. His contract with TNA called for him to earn more money per match if they started to go over the limit of dates he agreed to. So they decided to run the Abyss attack angle instead of paying more with costs being cut virtually everywhere in the company. You can read into that what you will. RVD will be back down the line.

Both Sting and Kevin Nash have been booked sparingly as well because of the company trying to keep costs low. Ric Flair has the same kind of deal with TNA and it is believed that that they are coming close to going over the amount of dates he agreed to. However, in Flair's case the belief is that will continue to pay his price for going over dates.

Report: The Sandman Already Gone From TNA?

Posted on 08.25.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
As noted yesterday here on the website, The Sandman missed this week's TNA iMPACT! tapings. Word is that he missed his flight on Monday, but he was then not brought in for the second day of TV tapings on Tuesday.

More than one source within TNA feels that he may already be done with the company. There were some totally against the company bringing in some of the ECW talent in the first place. So far most of th ECW guys are being paid on a per-appearance basis and don't have contracts.

Details On New Wrestling Promotion By NY Mets Owner - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Details On New Wrestling Promotion By NY Mets Owner

Posted on 08.25.10 by Jason Stone | MISC News |
Partial Source: Pwinsider

Here is the latest on the new promotion out of Florida that Milton Wilpon (of the family who owns the New York Mets), Peter Karoftis and Sean Davis (indy wrestler) are working on. The company has been named Worldwide Wrestling Promotion, and while it was planed for a fall launch, it has been pushed back to January of 2011. An email was sent out to talent this morning, explaining the delay. Davis wrote to the talent that the financing side of the company had told the wrestling side the following…

"Our original time table is not at all feasible. While we were all committed to launching in October we know now that has become an impossible goal. Our new goal is to start operations in the first part of the new year however we do not as of today have a firm date. That unfortunately means that contracts will have to be changed to a new starting date."

In the email, Davis states that the financial side feels that the delay is needed, and that he "fought this decision KICKING AND SCREAMING (literally)". He also stated that the move had to be made, because if it wasn't, the company would not move forward. Davis goes onto explain that WWP's attorneys will draw up contract addendums, and that if they didn't wish to sign them, he understood.

"You will still be welcome to come back to work for us in the future once we are up and running in the early part of the new year. For those of you that sign the contract addendums you will be receiving extra shares of company stock and the addendums will also spell out our full health and benefits plan that will be made available to you."

Davis also discussed that they have been through a lot already, and that there were forces out there that were trying to stop them…

"[These forces are] doing whatever they can to sabotage everything we are trying to do and doing everything in their power to make sure that this company will never launch. I can promise you though that no matter how many hurdles we have to jump over that there are people here dedicated to doing everything they can to make sure this company WILL launch and we will be a long time player in this industry."

Davis stated that WWP was not simply launching "a new independent promotion or something that is going to be on the long list of fly by night wrestling companies that have come and gone." He then went on to explain that they plan on "becoming over the next decade the premiere wrestling company in the world" but that "obviously does not happen overnight."

Davis promised to share details on several deals that the company had completed over the next few weeks. The promotion has also reached out to both Paul Heyman and Jerry Jarrett.

The roster is said to include Sean Waltman, Scott Steiner, Shane Douglas, Larry Zbyszko, and Vader.

*Impact opens with Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan and Miss Tessmacher coming out to the ring after the standard pyro goes off. Hogan praises the TNA locker room and then introduces each of the TNA World title semi-finalists individually. Hogan calls them the "Fatal four" and puts over that whoever wins has to raise the bar and don't let what happened to Rob Van Dam happen again. As Biscoff was talking, Abyss shows up from the crowd with Janice. Abyss says he has news from "They". Hogan says they are Fortune. Abyss says it is not EV2.0 or Fortune but on 10-10-10, "they" will be revealed to the world and they are taking over TNA starting with Dixie Carter, then Hogan and then the 4 wrestlers in the ring. Abyss screams 10-10-10 into the camera and leaves.

Rhino vs. Abyss in a Falls Count Anywhere Match and Dreamer vs. Styles in an I Quit match at the No Surrender PPV. Dreamer tells them not to wait for the PPV because they can do it right now. *Jeff Jarrett tries to convince Samoa Joe to help him but is blown off.

Strange Reason For Serena's Firing, Linda On FOX News Recap - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Strange Reason For Serena's Firing, Linda On FOX News Recap

Posted on 08.24.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch

-- As reported earlier, Serena has indeed been released from World Wrestling Entertainment.

While specific details surrounding her abrupt departure from the organization have yet to be disclosed, it is said that she was let go in a disciplinary measure. According to one source, she was not "living out" her Straight Edge Society persona in public and WWE was not happy about this.

The decision to cut the six-time Ohio Valley Wrestling Women's Champion was actually made a few days ago, but word had not surfaced until Monday night.

It would appear that an official announcement has not yet been made by WWE as she's due to make an appearance on this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown!, which was taped last Wednesday. She accompanies Luke Gallows to the ring for a match against Big Show.

-- On November 15th, WWE Monday Night Raw will be held at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Tickets for that event will go on sale on October 2nd.

-- On December 6th, WWE Monday Night Raw will be held at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:15PM.

-- Terry Bey of PWI sent this recap of Linda McMahon on Greta Van Sustren on FOX News last night:

During a segment on Greta Van Sustren called "Griff on the Ground," Linda McMahon is shown shaking hands with potential voters at the Milford Oyster Festival. She is shown playing a game and talking to the National Guard . A Blumenthal fan is interviewed. The Festival of Angels is next.

Again, she is seen talking to potential voters. The Bridgewater County Fair is next. She asked what she would do to get jobs created as there is almost 9% unemployment. She said that being a CEO, she realizes the impact of taxes and regulation on small businesses. She wants to keep money in the pocket of small businesses.

Linda was asked about the NY Times article talking about her being an unusual candidate in that WWE produced a lot of sex and violence. She says WWE is an absolute wonderful company and changed the industry over the past couple of decades and evolved from the sex and violence content to PG.

Video of Edge spearing Big Show and Edge taking on Miz is shown while Linda is talking. She talks about Smackdown Your Vote, being involved in the Make A Wish program, and the Special Olympics. A video of Triple H and Matt Hardy with Make A Wish kids is shown while she is talking.

Linda talked about Get Real helping libraries and literacy. She talked about how there were WWE fans who were supporting her. She said that a lot of them admire her for building a company from the ground up.

Linda was asked how she will overcome the 7 points that Richard Blumenthal (D) is ahead. She said she will keep talking to people. She said the more her opponents focus on WWE, the more she will move up in the polls.

-- “The Million Dollar” Man Ted DiBiase discussed his usage of steroids and cocaine during an interview with The Courier.

“I took steroids for a very short time,” says the WWE Hall of Famer. “It should be obvious by looking at me that I didn’t take them regularly because I was in good shape, but I was never massive. My strength was my ability to talk and my work in the ring. I always looked like an athlete but I didn’t look like Charles Atlas.

“The thing about the steroids was I was always afraid of them and I finally had a doctor tell me about the effects and that warned me right off them — that was it for me with that stuff. The only other drug I took for a while was cocaine. Now this doesn’t sound like the Million Dollar Man, but I stopped doing that because I was cheap — I didn’t want to spend the money on it!”

-- WWE’s first event at the new KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky will be the Superstars taping and live Monday Night Raw broadcast on December 6, 2010. The event begins at 8:15 p.m. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

Dark Match:

Madison Rayne defeated Katie Lea Burchill

Xplosion:

Eric Young defeated Jeremy Buck. Orlando Jordan got involved in the match at a couple points.

TNA X Division Champion Doug Williams won a four way match involving him, Amazing Red, Jay Lethal, and Brian Kendrick. Jay Lethal laid out Red for the pin, but Doug threw Lethal out of the ring and covered Red for the victory

Impact:

TNA World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns defeated Generation Me in a non-title match. After the match, the Guns raised the Buck’s hands

The Original Beautiful People of Angelina Love and Velvet Sky came out to cut a promo stating that they were a unit again. They trash talked Madison Rayne. This led to Madison and the helmeted biker bodyguard coming out, with the biker girl taking off the helmet to show the mask that she wore on The Whole F’n Show. Madison mentioned how she, Angelina, and Velvet were committing copyright infringement by using The Beautiful People’s music, which she wants to own the rights to. This led to verbal insults that turned into a pull-apart brawl between all four.

Rhino called out Abyss and the two brawled. The brawl went through the Impact Zone and ended up near the area by the Spanish Announce Table. Rhino laid out Abyss with a gore

Desmond Wolfe defeated Stevie Richards via Tower of London

Something happened backstage and Angelina Love came out again and called out Madison Rayne. They started brawling around ringside before a match started which saw TNA Knockout Champion Angelina Love defeat Madison Rayne in a non-title match following her bicycle kick.

Mick Foley came out to cut a promo on Ric Flair.

TNA President Dixie Carter came out for a promo and talked about the ups and downs of TNA at this time. She asked Ric Flair to come out. Flair ended up hitting on Dixie, including asking her to “come back to the hotel.” She told Flair that she was going to suspend him but not the rest of Fortune for his actions. This led to all of Fortune walking down to the ring, and Flair threatened Dixie. It looked like Dixie’s husband got in the ring to try to defend his wife, but he was beaten down by Fortune. Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy, The Pope, Kurt Angle, and Mr. Anderson came to the ring. Hogan says that he gets partial say due to running things with Dixie. Using this power, Hogan revokes the suspension for Flair. Hogan says it will be his four versus Flair’s four tonight. Flair and Hogan traded words before EV 2.0 ran out to brawl with Fortune.

Samoa Joe defeated Orlando Jordan with the Muscle Buster. After the match, Jeff Jarrett came out and put over how the people like Samoa Joe and himself helped build TNA. Jarrett asks Joe to be in his corner for his match with Kevin Nash later in the night. He wants Joe to prevent Sting from getting involved. Joe takes the mic and tells Jarrett that he doesn’t choose sides. Joe says that he has one side that he is on and it is his own side. Joe leaves as Kevin Nash walks down to the ring.

Kevin Nash defeated Jeff Jarrett. There was a ref bump and Jarrett had the match won with the stroke. Sting came down and laid out Jarrett with the bat allowing Nash to get the pinfall.

Eric Bischoff came out and asked Sting what he wanted. Sting said he wanted Hogan. Hogan snuck into the ring from the crowd and laid out Sting with a chair making the save for Jarrett.

Beer Money defeated the FBI (Tony Luke and Guido) with the DWI on Guido. FBI hardly got in any offense whatsoever during the match. After the match, James Storm and Robert Roode continued to beat down the FBI and hit Guido with the beer bottle, causing him to bleed. Roode and Storm then hit another DWI on Guido.

In the main event, Kurt Angle, The Pope, Mr. Anderson, and Jeff Hardy defeated AJ Styles, Kazarian, Douglas Williams, and Matt Morgan. The finish came when Kurt Angle hit the Angle Slam on Kazarian, but Angle did not know that Pope had made the blind tag and Pope covered Kazarian for the victory. Pope and Angle argued after the match and that led to Hardy and Anderson trying to break it up.

EV 2.0 came down to the ring to brawl with Fortune.

Spoilers: TNA Tapings Delayed Due To Late Arrival, More

Posted on 08.24.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Credit: ProWrestling.net

The following notes contain spoilers for this week’s episode of TNA iMPACT:

-- Last night’s TNA iMPACT tapings were delayed because Ken Anderson didn’t arrive to the building until long after the taping had started. Anderson was scheduled to be in the main event and was involved in an angle to set up the match. They ended up holding extra dark matches until he arrived. The word backstage was that travel issues were to blame.

-- Samoa Joe was scheduled to return at last night’s tapings against Orlando Jordan. This was the first time Joe was booked for iMPACT since he blew up at Vince Russo at others inside a production truck. Joe was upset that the ring announcer gave away the ending to his 10-minute time limit draw against Jeff Hardy. The incident resulted in all wrestlers being banned from the production truck.

Event: WWE Monday Night RAW
Airdate: Monday, August 23rd, 2010 (USA Network)
Location: The Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
Results by 411 Mania

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

-We kick things off with a pretty lengthy recap of last week. The Raw opening video follows, and here comes Sheamus.

We get a recap of Orton going crazy last week. Sheamus says that American's cry and cry until they get what they want. He starts pointing out at fans and goes to ringside. He points at one girl and asks what makes her think she deserves a ticket, she's a disgrace. Sheamus points out at some more kids and gets back in the ring. There's an even bigger spoiled child in the WWE, and his name is Randy Orton. Orton couldn't win the title at Summerslam, so he assaulted him the next night on Raw. The WWE Universe loved it, chanting "RKO, RKO". He's going to burst our bubble right now, because Orton isn't the champion, Sheamus is. The GM are on the same page as of late, but in 4 weeks time, Night of Champions is coming up. He spoke to the GM to not give in to Orton. Orton should be put in prison. He should never get another opportunity at the title. Not now, not ever. And Cole's got an email. The GM has no problem with Sheamus. Sheamus should be rewarded. Cole asks for the throne to be brought out. And two officials brings out the throne on the stage. Cole says the GM isn't going to decide his next challenger, Sheamus is. There will be a series of matches tonight. Sheamus will watch them, and at the end of the night, Sheamus will announce his opponent for Night of Champions. Sheamus thanks the GM and says he's going to enjoy himself tonight. Cole says the first of these matches begins right now. YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!!

And here comes Edge. He passes Sheamus on the ramp and the two stare down. Sheamus goes to sit down on the throne as we head to commercial.

Match 1: Edge vs R-Truth

Tie up to start, and Edge kicks Truth in the gut.Truth ducks a clothesline and nails a head scissors. Truth clotheslines Edge over the top and to the outside. Truth goes for a plancha, but Edge avoids it. Edge then proceeds to throw Truth back first into the barricade. Back in the ring now as Truth starts fighting back, but to no avail. Stomps by Edge. Choking in the ropes by Edge. Running crossbody by Edge. Pin but only two. Bow & arrow submission by Edge is applied. Truth gets back to his feet and fights out. Truth ducks a back elbow and both guys hit each other with crossbodies simultaneously. Both guys back up as Truth goes on the offense with clotheslines. Truth floats over, cartwheel and hits the hiptoss. Edge ducks a jumping kick and nails the Edgomatic. Edge now wants the Spear. Truth jumps over and Edge nails the turnbuckle. Edge avoids the Axe Kick and nails the Spear for the victory.

Winner: Edge (Nothing special about this, but it was pretty short and enjoyable. Truth looked to be on the same level of Edge and got in a solid amount of offense, while Edge got the win that he needed. No complaints here)

Edge says Sheamus can sit on the stupid little throne and brag about all the people he's beat, but until he beats a 9 time champion, the man who led Team WWE to victory at Summerslam, the Rated R Superstar, he hasn't beaten anybody.

-Tonight, John Cena faces off against The Miz.

-We get a video hyping Cody Rhodes on Warehouse 13.

-Cole and Lawler talk about WWE's recent trip to China.

Match 2: The Great Khali (w/ Rajinh Singh) vs Chris Jericho

Jericho slaps Khali. Khali catches a right hand, picks up Jericho and drops him back down on his back. Elbow in the corner by Khali. And a big slap follows. Big right hand by Khali. Leg drop misses. Jericho stats stomping the knee. Jericho elbows the knee and locks in the submission. Khali fights out but Jericho goes back on the attack. Jericho puts the leg on the rope and jumps on it. Walls coming up, but Khali locks in the Vice Grip. Jericho immediately falls to the outside of the ring. Jericho runs back in and goes back on the attack. Codebreaker countered as Khali just dropped Jericho onto the mat. Big clothesline by Khali. And another. Scoop slam by Khali follows. Jericho avoids a boot in the corner and chop blocks the leg. Walls of Jericho are slowly, but surely, locked in. Khali has no choice but to tap.

Winner: Chris Jericho (Meh, I didn't mind this that much. It was short and pretty inoffensive. Jericho's offense consisted entirely of attacking the injured leg. Jericho came out of this looking like the dickish heel while getting a much needed win)

Jericho asks if Sheamus saw that. Edge wasn't the first undisupted champ in the history of this business, he's not the man who just made a giant tap out, and most importantly, Edge is not the best in the world. Sheamus has to choose Jericho as his next opponent. Khali gets back up and chops Jericho. Jericho falls to the outside and cringes in pain. (Was that really necessary?)

-We get a recap of the Bryan/Miz happenings from last week.

-Matthews is in the back with Cena. Cena doesn't regret choosing Bryan over Miz at Summerslam. It was Miz who almost cost them the match. He showed his true colors last week again by attacking Bryan for no reason. Ever since Miz won MITB, his mouth has gotten bigger, so tonight, Cena will shut it with an Attitude Adjustment.

-Jillian Hall is in the ring. She says she's been Diva's Champion before, and she's about to do it again tonight. She starts singing, and here comes Melina.

Match 3: Jillian Hall vs Diva's Champion Melina

Tie up to start, and Jillian pushes Melina into the ropes. Forearm by Jillian. Melina with a kick. Jillian catches a kick and drops Melina down into a split. Melina goes for the knees in the ropes but Jillian avoids them. Pin but only two. Bow & arrow submission applied by Jillian. Jillian steps on the back of Melina. German attempt countered into a rolling facebuster. Melina matrix's out of a clothesline and pulls Jillian down by the hair. Pin but only two. Melina floats over in the corner by Jillian bum rushes her to the ground. Jillian drops Melina down again and heads to the second rope. Diving leg drop misses. Last Call by Melina, and it's over.

Winner: Melina (Decent match here, and you could tell they were both trying to put on a good match, but these two really don't have much chemistry together. Plus, that botch by Jillian at the end kind of hurt this)

-LayCool show up on the tron. The say they took out Melina because next week is the 900th episode of Raw and LayCool is going to be there, and they have an offer Melina simply can't refuse, because it's flawless.

-Miz is in the back. Matthews asks him if cares to respond to Cena's comments from earlier. Miz says he nailed Daniel Bryan in the back of the head, but what about Cena. He put Team WWE at risk, the minute he chose Bryan, a nobody, over him. Cena wants to talk about egos? Let's talk about Miz's egos. Sheamus was beaten down at Summerslam. But did Miz cash in MITB? No. He was thinking about Team WWE, the very least Cena could have done was talk to him backstage about his decision. But what did he do? Embarrassed him in front of the world. Tonight, Miz will show Cena there will be consequences for his actions. Miz doesn't expect Sheamus to pick him for Night of Champions. But that doesn't matter. Because Miz can pick Sheamus whenever he wants. Who knows, he might pick him tonight.

-Sheamus is shown sitting on his throne, and here comes the Nexus. Sheamus asks how they're doing? Cole's got an email. The GM requested Nexus to come out here because he was highly impressed with their performance last week. The ban that Nexus can't compete for titles has been lifted. Barrett goes up to Sheamus and stares at the title. He says to consider their truce over. The Nexus walks off as Sheamus looks worried.

-Up next, Miz takes on Cena.

Match 4: United States Champion and Mr. Money In The Bank The Miz vs John Cena

Miz boots Cena in the gut and starts working him down. Miz with a hard irish whip, sending Cena flying into the corner. Cena starts fighting back. Sidewalk slam by Cena. Pin but only two. Miz avoids Cena in the corner, and Cena went shoulder first right into the ring post. Backsuplex by Miz. Pin but only two. Cena whips Miz into the corner and follows with the fisherman's suplex. Pin but only two. Miz counters a backdrop with a kick, and then punts Cena in the gut. Leg drop by Miz. Miz covers but only gets two. Cena kicks Miz in the gut and hits the throwback. Cena goes up to the top, but Miz crotches him. Cena goes flying to the outside as we head to commercial.

We're back, and Miz has Cena in a sleeper. Cena drives Miz back first into the corner to counter out. Cena goes for a bulldog but Miz sends Cena flying. Boot by Miz. Pin but only two. Miz with a knee lift to Cena's head. Miz then slingshots Cena throat first onto the bottom rope. Pin but again only two. Miz hits that vintage clothesline in the corner. Pin but again only two. Miz goes for the clothesline again, but Cena avoids it. Shoulder block by Cena, and another. Big slam by Cena. You Can't See Me! Five Knuckle Shuffle connects. Five Moves of Doom almost complete. Attitude Adjustment countered into a reverse DDT/backbreaker combo, followed by the neckbreaker. Pin but only two. Miz now waiting on Cena. Skull Crushing Finale countered into an armdrag. Drop toe hold by Cena, and the STF is locked in. Miz fights his way to the ropes, and he's finally able to grab them. Cena charges Miz but gets killed with a boot. 1...2...2.9856! Miz goes for the Skull Crushign Finale again, but Cena counters into an AA attempt, but Miz slides out onto the apron. Miz bails out. Bryan runs out and blindsides Miz for the DQ.

Winner: The Miz (I really, really dug this match. Miz really looked on Cena's level and totally held his own. Miz has really come far since his battles last year with Cena, as this was totally the opposite of those. As in Miz was in control for a majority of the match. Miz's offense was great and there were moments you felt like he'd actually win, while Cena just did his thing. The crowd was totally into this too, making this a great TV match)

Bryan throws Miz back into the ring and Cena hits him with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena leaves the ring and Bryan enters. Crossface submission by Bryan. The officials are trying to pull him off, and they finally do.

-Later tonight, Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase and John Morrison do battle in a Triple Threat match.

Match 5: Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov vs Jimmy and Jey Uso (w/ Tamina)

Santino and random Jimmy kick things off. Santino goes for the Cobra and Jimmy backs off. Tie up, and Jimmy gets a knee to the gut. Jey gets the tag. Scoop slam, followed by a leg drop. Pin but only two. Tag to Jimmy, and Santino gets a hiptoss. Dropkick misses and Jimmy starts dropping forearms. Pin but only two. Front facelock applied by Jimmy. Kozlov yelling for the tag is hilarious. Jimmy takes out Kozlov, but runs into a backdrop by Santino. Kozlov and Jey get the tags. Headbutt by Kozlov, and a boot follows. Kozlov with a running powerslam. He's getting a little ahead of himself. Pin but Jimmy breaks it up. Santino clotheslines Jimmy over the top. Jey kicks Santino in the gut. Kozlov catches a superkick and nails the leg trap chokeslam for the win.

Winners: Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella (Wow, I never thought I'd say this, but a I think a team between Santino and Kozlov could work. Santino as the guy who gets beaten down and Kozlov as the guy to tear shit up. As for the match, it wasn't much, mainly just a way to show off Kozlov/Santino while continuing the Santino/Tamina story.

Tamina tells Jimmy to back off of Santino. She then goes to check up on Santino before leaving ringside. She blows a kiss to Santino. God this is ridiculous.

Match 6: Million Dollar Champion Ted Dibiase (w/ Maryse) vs John Morrison vs Randy Orton - Triple Threat match

And I'm once again obligated to remind you that Maryse is indeed looking damn fine. Orton comes out to a pretty sizable pop. This match will start after the commercial break.

Morrison with a Flying Chuck Dibiase on the outside, and we're down to Morrison and Orton. Shoulder block by Orton. Pin but only two. Sleeper locked in by Orton. Morrison fights out, but gets hit with another shoulderblock. Dropkick by Orton. Pin but Dibiase breaks it up, and tosses Morrison to the outside. Boot by Dibiase to Orton. Pin but only two. Dibiase choking Orton with his boot in the corner. Orton starts fighting back now.Orton runs off the ropes, and so does Dibiase. Orton turns around and gets killed with a clothesline. Backbreaker by Dibiase to Morrison. Morrison with a jawbreaker, and Orton hits Dibiase with a clotheslines. Scoop slam to Morrison. And one for Dibiase. Orton's going crazy. He goes for the rope hung DDT on Dibiase, but Morrison goes for the Flying Chuck, but Orton ducks and nails the DDT. He wants the RKO. Dibiase pushes him off and Morrison hits that jumping high kick. Dibiase low bridges Morrison, sending him to the outsid.e Orton counters Dream Street with an armdrag. Morrison goes springboard but Orton kills him with an RKO for the win!

Winner: Randy Orton (The winner to this match was never in doubt, but these three played up the triple threat formula well and put on a pretty good TV main event)

Dibiase goes after Orton, but gets nailed with an RKO.

-Sheamus is in the back with Matthews. Sheamus says he doesn't need to see more of Orton, because he's made his decision. He'll announce it out there in the ring. Sheamus walks off as we head to commercial.

-This Friday on Smackdown, Kofi Kingston challenges Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship. Plus, Mysterio takes on Kane in singles action. Also, Undertaker makes his return. Where have I seen all of this before?

-Sheamus is in the ring. He says he's been thinking about it for a while, and despite what happened last week, he's still a warrior. He has a huge announcement tonight. He's not going to wait until Night of Champions to defend his title, he's going to defend it right now. So bring out a ref. He's seen a lot of great competitors tonight, but the only reason he became champ was because of opportunity. Despite what he's seen tonight, he's going left field. He's making a new number one contender a superstar who's never held the title before. So his next opponent is... ZACK RYDER!!! Baw gawd!

Ryder has a mic and says he appreciates the offer, but Sheamus just made the biggest mistake of his life. You're looking at the new WWE Champion. Woo Woo Woo, you know it.

Match 7: Zack Ryder vs Sheamus© - WWE Championship

The bell rings, and Sheamus nails Ryder with the Brogue Kick. 1...2...3!

Winner: Sheamus (Fantastic main event here. Ryder looked like he totally belonged and got in a good amount of offense. MOTY candidate. The Guns and Beer Money had nothing on this)

Sheamus says that's another succesful retention for the Celtic Warrior. Now he'd like to take the time to reference some rules and regulations. He doesn't have to defend the title for another 30 days. At Night of Champions, this champion is taking the night off. He might even take the whole month off. He's gonna go back to Ireland and visit the family....Here comes Wade Barrett.

He says Sheamus is right, he doesn't have to defend the title for 30 days. Barrett was the winner of Season 1 NXT. So that means he gets a title opportunity at a PPV of his choice. And he's choosing to take it against Sheamus at Night of Champions. So his next title defense is against him. Cole's got an email. The GM would like everyone to know that he has upheld Wade Barrett's request. Sheamus will defend against Barrett at Night of Champions, but that's not all. Earlier tonight Sheamus spoke of opportunity. The GM is giving an opportunity to not only Wade Barrett, but four other deserving superstars. At Night of Champions, Sheamus will defend the title in a Six Pack Challenge. Sheamus will not only face Wade Barrett, but also Chris Jericho! And here comes Jericho to the ring. Randy Orton. And here comes Orton to the ring. Edge! And here comes Edge to the ring. And John Cena! And here comes Cena. The five guys surround Barrett. Cena attacks him, and its' a five on one beatdown. Sheamus throws Barrett out of the ring. Codebreaker to Sheamus. Spear to Jericho. Attitude Adjustment to Edge. RKO to Cena. Orton stands tall as we close out.

Source: PWInsider.com

The duo known as Team 3D, Brother Ray and Brother Devon, may have already made their final appearances with TNA Wrestling as their contracts are set to expire this week.

Though the team was not written into this week's shows, Brother Ray is backstage at today's television taping working as a producer. Meanwhile, it is unclear whether Devon is on hand for the event.

The two sides are negotiating, but sources say a deal is not close to being reached yet.

Team 3D's last appearance with the organization took place on Thursday's episode of ReACTION as they were featured in a segment concerning the beating Fortune laid on EV2.0 the previous week on iMPACT!.

Team 3D joined TNA in late 2005, and won both the NWA and then TNA tag team titles during their time with the company.

Nash Confirms That Scott Hall Is In WWE-Sponsored Rehab

Posted on 08.23.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
TNA star Kevin Nash has confirmed that his friend Scott Hall is back in a substance abuse rehabilitation facility.

Nash wrote on Twitter.com/RealKevinNash:

“Scott is under care in the WWE’s wellness program. God bless Ann and Vince for taking care of my friend.”

There had been some confusion lately as to whether Scott Hall had been hospitalized or was in rehab after statements were issued by independent wrestling promoters claiming both scenarios.

Much to their credit, WWE has an ongoing policy where it pays for drug treatment programs for any current or past superstar that asks for the help.

Jim Ross Speaks On Lashley's Loss, Batista In MMA, More

Posted on 08.23.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Jim Ross has posted a new blog on his website. Here are the highlights:

On Bobby Lashley: Bobby Lashley lost for the first time Saturday night by technical knockout in an ugly effort that Bobby's lack of MMA technique specifically Lashley's ability to utilize submissions. Bobby did not look good, seemed to fatigue, and was too heavy/thick from this fan's observation. I still think that Lashley has a shot at a successful MMA career but he's got lots of work to do in a high level training center and to mentally commit 100% to his new vocation. He also needs to physically downsize.

Lashley was hospitalized over night in Houston Saturday but has apparently since been released.

If Bobby decides to have one more go at it and loses again, I would be surprised to see him remain in MMA. That's pure, individual speculation.

On Batista in Strikeforce: If Strikeforce now signs Bautista and Dave then would fight Bobby Lashley then the fight would be nothing more than merely an "attraction fight" and will obviously not be a highly skilled MMA contest between two, finely tuned and experienced MMA fighters. Notice that I did not say that the fight wouldn't garner a TV rating or create a buzz within the MMA community and in the TV world if promoted properly. I don't see it as a PPV fight but perhaps not a bad choice for CBS, if they are still in play.

BTW...Bautista has no deal at this time with Strikeforce and as I understand it Dave is still healing from injuries from his last WWE bout even though he has apparently began some MMA training. The one thing that is obvious when it comes to MMA training is that it makes all the difference in the world what camp one trains in as it relates to how successful most fighters can become. Camps are every where but it seems that only a handful of MMA training camps produce 'money ball players.'

On WWE's Far East tour: WWE had a successful, 90 minute show (that time was requested by local officials) in China that went well by all accounts. A WWE TV crew was in China to get footage of the trip and the first ever, WWE China event. Obviously this was a long, grueling trip for the travelers but everyone from what I understand really enjoyed the history making experience. One would assume that there will be some footage of this trip in upcoming WWE TV vehicles.

WWE rocked Sumo Hall in Tokyo this past week, too, Both events were well attended including the 2nd night which was essentially sold out. WWE sold well north of $1.1M in tickets for the two nights in the compact Sumo Hall. Internet reports from fans in attendance said that a Rey Mysterio vs. Evan Bourne was off the charts in Tokyo.

Backstage TNA News: Diversity In The Locker Room, Hogan

Posted on 08.23.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

There is said to be a lot of divisiveness within the TNA locker room between talent who have been there for years and those new to the roster. One exception is Ric Flair who has been described as getting along with just about everyone on both sides. Hulk Hogan is not overly disliked, but many feel he hasn't improved business and isn't very dedicated to TNA.

Many of the talent who have been with TNA for years were not fans of bringing in the ECW talent and putting a lot of focus on them. One member of the roster new to the company, Rob Van Dam, has been very outspoken about the difference he feels he has made along with Jeff Hardy. RVD made some comments recently that some found had interesting timing now that he is taking some time off from the company.

Rob Van Dam wrote, "I'd imagine a lot of the old TNA guys are feeling like they're taking a back seat. The thing is..you can't argue with numbers. Last week TNA broke new all-time records for ratings! TNA needed a change. The 6-sided ring and the great technical wrestlersthat nobody knewwasn't working. TNA brought in two rock stars, and look at the company now! Dixie often points out how hiring Jeff Hardy and RVD started a whole new era, why do some of the wrestlers not see it? Too young, too green, too selfish to have the correct perspective. Whereas some of the TNA `stars' are lucky to get recognized walking around the studios, Jeff and myself live like actual celebrities, signing autographs and taking pictures EVERYWHERE we go. Without experiencing this, it's probably hard to imagine. In fact, very few wrestlers stick out in people's minds the way that Jeff and I do. WE love our fans and we love their love. TNA is blowing up. Good things will come our way and I see it all happening now. This is a very exciting time. More people watching TNA means more people to the other wrestlers on the card too...as long as they're good enough to hang around with the rising standards."

Balls Mahoney Says Axl Rotten Screwed Him Over In TNA - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Balls Mahoney Says Axl Rotten Screwed Him Over In TNA

Posted on 08.23.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Susan Frizzell sent this one along:

Recently Low Blow Radio was joined by former ECW original Balls Mahoney! Here are some highlights from the near 60 minute sit down interview...

When asked about TNA Hardcore Justice Balls said the following...

"Tommy called me and asked if I knew about the rumors of the ECW reunion show. I said no because I don't read the internet much. I don't even have internet. Tommy asked me to appear at the show and I would be teaming with Axl. I have some issues with Axl so I was a bit apprehensive but I wouldn't pass up this opportunity for anything so I said of course I'll do it. I asked if it would be like One Night Stand 2006 where I get a 20 minute match with Tanaka and they come to be before the match and cut it down to 8 minutes along with all the great spots and waste Tanaka's talent, time, money, and sanity??? Tommy said no you are going to be yourself. This is going to be you looking up north and giving them the finger. So obviously I said yea. So I show up at the building excited and pumped! If you saw the PPV you saw Axl and I with our new gear. For once we looked like a real tag team. No ripped jeans or anything. So we went and did it. We went put there as a 3 man unit, referring to Bubba, Devon, and I, and did what we had to do and I think the fans went home happy. We should have came back for TV the next night but thanks to a certain somebody I was f***ed over once again. But overall I had a great time and was treated very, very well."

When asked about possibly competing for TNA in the future as apart of EV2.0 Balls had the following to say (Also comments on being held back and screwed over by Axl Rotten)...

"I hope what Bubba, Devon, and I pulled off at the PPV was enough to save my ass for any work in the future. As I said I was f***ed over by a certain somebody but that's all I'm going to say about that at the current moment. I mean I'm also kind of nervous too. I have a wife, and a kid, and have to put food on the table and all this and that. I can't just keep working these indies. I think another thing is that the office doesn't understand my versatility. My amateur and actual wrestling ability. Just check out some classics I've had with Rob Van Dam in ECW. Speaks for itself. But nevertheless I hope to be a full time member of EV2.0 in TNA within the next month or so. This is really my only last opportunity to make some money and perform for a national audience again. I've just been f***ed over so many times dealing with Axl. I can honestly say now I will NEVER team with Axl Rotten again. If WWE or TNA called me up and said we want you to come in and team with Axl of course I'd have to say yes but otherwise it isn't ever going to happen again. I can't be his baby sitter anymore. I have a kid now. I have a family. I'm not going to deal with what I dealt with regarding Axl at Hardcore Justice at 12:00, 1:30, 4:00, and then again right before the match just to make sure the match would still be on. Axl has f***ed me over for the last time."

When asked if he thinks it would be successful for TNA to bring back a version of ECW Balls said the following...

"Yes. If it was done right. If done intelligently it would be a money making thing for TNA and the wrestlers alike. They could do what WWE failed to do."

Lashley Hospitalized Following Fight, More News

Posted on 08.23.10 by Jason Stone | UFC News |
Bobby Lashley was on the losing end of his sixth MMA fight last weekend at Strikeforce: Houston, when the referee stopped the contest at the end of the second round. Lashley had taken a barrage of hammerfists from opponent Chad Griggs to end the round, and was slow and shaky in getting to his feet. He was also visibly gassed and had a huge cut.

Lashley was taken to a local hospital after the fight, due to extreme dehydration and a laceration below his left eye. He was treated with several bags of fluid via IV and released.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said that the promotion would have a chat with Lashley to see if he wanted to continue in MMA, but indicated that he would love to have Lashley back. Officials with the promotion are now saying that Lashley vs. Batista is likely to happen, with Coker saying "That's going to be up to Bobby and let's see what Bobby wants to do."

Report: Balls Mahoney Arrested After Getting In Fight

Posted on 08.22.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Former ECW star Balls Mahoney and another wrestler, John "The Outpatient" Kissel, were charged with disorderly conduct following a fight between the two men at a restaurant in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

The two men claimed the fight was a work in order to build interest in an upcoming match, but after police reviewed the footage from the restaurant's security cameras, charges were laid.

Police were called to the scene after one of the wrestlers reportedly pulled a knife. The local NBC affiliate posted the following:

"OK, we know pro wrestling matches are fake, right? Right?

But when two pro wrestlers got it on at a restaurant in South Brunswick early Saturday morning, they were still faking it.

At least, that's what they admitted to police there but that didn't keep them out of jail.

It seems that 'Balls Mahoney,' aka John Rechner and "The Outpatient," aka John Kissell were trying to drum up some interest in an upcoming match to be staged(did we say pro wrestling is fake?) in Perth Amboy, according to a release from the South Brunswick police department.

But at the restaurant, one of them showed a knife, and that sent onlookers to their cell phones to dial 9-1-1.

By the time police got to the restaurant, the two wrestlers had gone.

But armed with a description of their car, police tag teamed the pair a short distance away.

There, the release said Rechner ("Balls Mahoney") , 38 admitted he "staged the fight with ... Kissell ("The Outpatient"), 45 ... because they were professional wrestlers and wanted to draw attention to their upcoming match."

After reviewing the videotape(the restaurant's) and talking with the fans(witnesses at the restaurant), police put both on the mat, charging them with disorderly conduct.

They were then sent to their corners(released) presumably to face off another day."

New Trish Stratus Pics, Serena's Debut, Strange Bryan News

Posted on 08.22.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- Some great new pics of Trish Stratus in some interesting yoga positions: http://www.24wrestling.com/imagery/index.php?gal=163

-- Serena made her SmackDown in-ring TV debut on last night's episode of SmackDown, teaming with Luke Gallows to take on Kelly Kelly & Big Show. Serena got the clean win for her team with a gutbuster on Kelly Kelly. The announcers played up that Serena had no wrestling experience and has been training for months for her debut. Serena Deeb is actually a former six-time OVW Women's Champion and made her wrestling debut in 2005.

-- A story on Beckett.com states that Daniel Bryan's trading card was not initially in the current WWE Topps set, but was added in July to the list. Of course Bryan was not under contract at that time, according to WWE.

Major WWE.com Mistake, Cena On Hannah Montana, Nowinski

Posted on 08.22.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- Alberto Del Rio's bio went live on WWE.com last night, but there was something strange on the page. It's safe to assume this line of text wasn't supposed to be there: "Are you ok with this for Del Rio's bio. Just asking because I know he's supposed to be a big deal, fairly quick." This was likely a note for another editor at WWE.com that wasn't supposed to be made public.

-- John Cena is set to guest star on the September 12th episode of Hannah Montana Forever. Here's the synopsis for the episode: "Lilly finally wants to ride Blue Jeans, however on the ride Blue Jeans gets bitten by a snake and falls to the ground ill. Lilly and Robby Ray help support Miley as Blue recovers. Meanwhile Jackson tries to impress Siena by reading her one of her favorite books, but get's sidetracked by his wrestling magazines. John Cena Guest Stars as himself to provide Jackson with real life motivation."

-- On Stan Lee's Super Humans last night, Chris Nowinski was shown in a piece on a pro wrestler named Gino Marino with a 16mm thick skull (the average is 7mm). Marino uses his skull to break things, hammer in nails and so on. Nowinski commented that he would like to study the man, saying that while it's not unusual for a skull to be able to take punishment it is very strange that the brain would show no effects of the damage.

Bobby Lashley TKO'd At Strikeforce MMA Event - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Bobby Lashley TKO'd At Strikeforce MMA Event

Posted on 08.22.10 by Jason Stone | UFC News |
Chad Griggs def. Bobby Lashley after two rounds last night at the Strikeforce event in Houston, TX live on Showtime. The referee called the fight following the end of the second round when Griggs landed a series of huge hammerfists to the side of Lashley's head. This was Lashley's first loss.

Lashley had won the first two rounds mainly with takedowns and wrestling. He suffered a huge cut during the first round and the fight was stopped during the second round with 30 seconds left when the cut began to bleed badly. When the fight resumed, Griggs stuffed a takedown attempt by Lashley, landed a series of big hammerfists and shortly after the second round expired, the referee called the fight to end. Lashley was tired during the final round and could barely stand. He was also bleeding badly throughout the fight.

Lashley is now 5-1 in his MMA career.

This Week's TNA iMPACT Rating Is In (Updated) - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
This Week's TNA iMPACT Rating Is In (Updated)

Posted on 08.21.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
The official rating is not out yet, but last night's episode of TNA iMPACT! was not in the top 50 cable shows last night. The lowest-rated show on that list scored a 0.98 rating. That means it's not good news.

As far as the demographics go, the show scored a 0.71 rating in both 18-34 male and 18-49 males, which were the lowest for the show in the last 5 weeks. The rating for males 12-17 was down to 0.85, compared with a 1.19 last week. The show was up against another series-high rating for Jersey Shore.

We should have the overall rating and viewership soon.

Update:

-- Last night's TNA iMPACT drew a 0.97 (1.0) cable rating, with 1.35 million viewers. This number isn't as bad as was expected.

-- TNA ReAction also dropped this week, with a 0.62 (0.6) cable rating and 824,000 viewers.

Samoa Joe's Return, Another Firing, Who Is The Biker Chick? - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Samoa Joe's Return, Another Firing, Who Is The Biker Chick?

Posted on 08.20.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
-- It was announced during this week's episode of TNA ReACTION that Samoa Joe would be returning to iMPACT! on next week's show. The program's narrator teased: "Where will Samoa Joe stand when he makes his return to iMPACT! next week?" The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion was reportedly suspended last month due to breach of etiquette.

-- Taylor Wilde nearly blew the biker chick gimmick on her Twitter account. She Tweeted Lisa Marie Varon (aka Tara) about getting together on Monday, when iMPACT was taped, to which Tara replied "What is Monday? I don't get it." Taylor then tried to help cover up by saying "I just thought I'd make Monday's the international smooshing day. I miss ya! Maybe I'll swing by your hood sometime soon." It has been scheduled to be 'Tara' for weeks now.

-- Rosie Lottalove, who was removed yesterday from the official TNA Wrestling website's roster page, confirmed her departure from the organization this morning on her Twitter account.

"Ok guys. TNA days are done for now," she wrote. "Not a bad thing, so don't speculate. Thank you 2 the guys and girls, & agents. It was a blast!"

A student of the Team 3D Academy, she worked a tryout match on April 20, during which she accidentally injured her opponent, Daffney. She received a contract a few weeks later. The portly performer was used once more on television following her June 3 debut on iMPACT!, in a match against Taylor Wilde on the July 9 episode of Xplosion.

General Skandor Akbar and “Nightmare” Ted Allen Pass Away - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
General Skandor Akbar and “Nightmare” Ted Allen Pass Away

Posted on 08.20.10 by Jason Stone | MISC News |
Very sad to report the deaths of two more wrestlers on the heels of Lance Cade’s death last week.

Legendary wrestling manager General Skandor Akbar (James Wehbna), 75, best known for his work in World Class Championship Wrestling and Mid South/UWF, was found dead yesterday at his home in Texas. He remained active on the independent scene until his death and had just recently made an appearance at the NWA Legends Convention, which Jim Ross talked about in a recent blog. Ross even noted that Akbar greatly influenced a young Steve Austin during his time in Dallas.

Also, “Nightmare” Ted Allen, 54, a staple of the southeast wrestling scene for nearly 35 years, was found dead in his home earlier this week. The cause of death is believed to have been a massive heart attack. Allen is perhaps best known for having trained the likes of Arn Anderson, Scotty Riggs and the late Ray Traylor (Big Bossman).

The Latest On Paul Heyman & TNA's Negotiations

Posted on 08.19.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Regarding Paul Heyman, there was no movement this past week in the former ECW creative director joining TNA Wrestling. The feeling among many in the organization is that as long as television ratings hold up, Spike officials won't feel the need to pressure the organization in bringing him in.

Heyman insists he won't join the organization without the ability to rebuild the company, and without complete control over marketing, talent and the office, he won't be able to. TNA president Dixie Carter doesn't want to give up control of her company, not to mention that she bears strong loyalty to certain employees, thus explaining why things remain at a standstill. Even some people within TNA who were pulling to bring in Heyman find his demands to be a little much.

Honky Tonk Man Replies To Bischoff, Defends WWE

Posted on 08.19.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
The Honky Tonk Man sent out the following today, in response to Eric Bischoff's comments on the WWE youth movement…

"Eric Bischoff calls the WWE youth movement a flop!? My what a short memory you have Eric. In 2000 you and Vince Russo called anyone over 35 (with the exception of Hogan) a non draw as you killed WCW. Ouch!

My reply is simple, if no one is watching WWE, how in the hell do they draw 75,000 people to Mania and demolish TNA in the ratings each week. WWE must be doing something right!

You bash the internet wrestling community yet post comments directly aimed at them and the sites you obviously visit. Don't be a mark for yourself Eric!

If wrestling fans, reporters or anyone else want to talk TNA, WWE, ROH or any other wrestling show, it's their right to do so. It's called free speech.

HTM"

Eric Bischoff Blasts WWE's "Youth Movement" - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Eric Bischoff Blasts WWE's "Youth Movement"

Posted on 08.19.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Eric Bischoff is back at it again, with this new blog entry from his website:

"FACTS HURT!

On the heels of the big "youth push" in WWE during the past several weeks, here are some facts from this week in the business:

"Raw's demographic ratings among males 18-34 and 18-49 were the lowest in seven weeks."

"Raw scored a 1.86 rating among males 18-34, which was down from a 2.03 rating last week."

And during this months conference call to investors Vince McMahon admitted that:

"Basically, we had a lousy quarter," and then when on to pin the loss of Shawn Michaels, Batista, Triple H, and Undertaker (all 40 + years old) as the reason for the hit to PPV and live event revenue.

Now one could suggest that McMahon is insane enough to be intentionally misleading Wall Street with excuses that are not substantiated by financials that wouldn't hold up under either SEC or Sarbanes Oxley Act 404 scrutiny, or maybe that he has no idea what he's talking about despite the massive success of his business model.

Or one could recognize the direct connect between what TV ratings, PPV buy rates, and ticket sales have proven time and time again, as well as what legitimate focus groups conducted by credible media companies in the business of such have clearly identified: the TV audience (including 18-34 males) rate with ESTABLISHED (and yes older) stars!

Admittedly, these facts are kind of dry compared to the subjective opinion of those with their own agenda or the inflamed rhetoric that appeals to those perpetually pre-pubescent, parasitic internet "experts" who neither have any legitimate experience or success as executives in the television or wrestling industry, and the rants of the terminally irrelevant trying desperately to hold on to their last 200 fans.

But they are facts non-the-less.

In my opinion Vince Russo, Dixie Carter and the team at TNA have done a great job of utilizing veteran stars to help elevate some of the young emerging talent in TNA and at the same time gaining awareness and credibility within the media industry.

That's just my opinion. And my opinion is backed up by facts.

OUCH!

Sorry."

WWE Signs 2 New Wrestlers, Details On WWE's Major Tryouts - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
WWE Signs 2 New Wrestlers, Details On WWE's Major Tryouts

Posted on 08.19.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- WWE has also released George Murdoch from his developmental contract. Murdoch has been working under his G-Rilla and Brodius Clay gimmicks in FCW.

-- WWE has signed Bradley Jay, who wrestled on SmackDown! as Ryan Braddock from August to October in 2008. The contract is believed to be a developmental deal.

-- Florida Championship Wrestling, the official developmental territory of World Wrestling Entertainment, held its annual Talent Evaluation Clinic three weeks ago. The FCW Clinic is the only clinic where WWE producers, WWE scouts and WWE Superstars are in attendance to evaluate potential WWE talent. The camp was attended by 63 dreamers and it is believed that only a select few would imminently land contracts with the organization.

The company reaction was that of the 63 people who tried out at the clinic, paying $1,000 to be seen, that approximately 50 of them had no business being there. In particular, AAA Women's Champion Sexy Star received harsh reviews as company officials felt her work was terrible, her English was terrible, and that she was overweight. They also felt she wasn't pretty looking without her mask on. John Laurinaitis told those in FCW that when it comes to hiring female talent, the standard is if they aren't pretty enough to appear in Playboy, then they shouldn't be hired.

The only wrestler known to have been offered a developmental contract is Mattias Wild, who was trained by former WWE performer Lance Storm. Company officials were said to be impressed with his fundamental ability. Others wrestlers notably taking part in the tryout include independent women's grapplers New York Knockout Nikki (also known as Toni the Top in Wrestlelicious) and She Nay Nay. Regarding Nikki, it said that she 'absolutely' doesn't have the look company officials like.

Renee Dupree Says He Was Miserable In WWE, Shocking Pic - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Renee Dupree Says He Was Miserable In WWE, Shocking Pic

Posted on 08.18.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |

Former WWE superstar Rene Dupree (above, before and after), who held WWE gold as part of “La Resistance” tag team, recently spoke to Slam Wrestling about the latest chapter in his career, wrestling in Japan and Europe. Dupree had some very harsh things to say about his time in WWE and Vince McMahon in particular.

“I was miserable the last three years I was in WWE, I was miserable, I hated it, because it’s all politics,” Dupree said. You have to kiss ass. In Japan, all you’ve got to do, is you’ve got to work hard, you’ve got to look good, and that’s it. And that’s what wrestling is all about. It’s about the performance. It’s not about how big you are, or how good of a promo you can cut. It’s about if you can deliver in the ring.”

Rene Dupree has dramatically changed his look since we last saw him in WWE. He’s now sporting a goatee and is covered in tattoos on his chest, arms, shoulder and back.

“I’ve always wanted tattoos, ever since I was a little kid. Mind you, when I was 18 and I signed with WWE, and they had a strict policy, ‘Oh no, you can’t have tattoos without permission. Oh no, you can’t do this, you can’t do that.’ Basically, when you sign a contract with WWE, you sell your soul. You can’t take a sh*t without asking their permission. That’s the bottom line, that’s the truth. The hell with that shit. No. Here in Japan, I get a new tattoo, and the boys are like, ‘Oh, sugoi (which means awesome), new tattoo.’”

He also had some choice words for Vince McMahon.

“I don’t care how much money Vince McMahon has, Vince McMahon put my father out of business, for a lot of people. That was a very, very hard time in my life. That is very hard to forgive, very hard to forgive.”

Undertaker News: His Physical Condition, Plans With Kane

Posted on 08.18.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
If you saw the Undertakerfs return at SummerSlam, you may have noticed that the Dead Man seemed to be out of shape and less muscular than the last time we saw him. The Undertaker only received medical clearance to get back in the gym just a few weeks ago, which explains his appearance. Taker has been nursing a broken orbital bone, among other injuries. He was still experiencing vision problems as recently as last month but is expected to fully recover from the vision problems. He also suffered a concussion in the match where Rey Mysterio broke his orbital bone.

Undertaker will be feuding with Kane over the World Heavyweight title over the next few months, with current plans calling for matches at Night of Champions in September as well as Hell in a Cell in October. The first Undertaker vs. Kane match (of this chapter of their feud) has been booked for WWEfs return to Madision Square Garden on September 25th.

Herefs the updated card for the 9/25 MSG show:

- Kane vs. Undertaker for the World Title
- Bret Hart and The Hart Dynasty vs. Nexus
- Christian vs. Matt Hardy vs. Dolph Ziggler for the IC Title
- Big Show vs. Jack Swagger
- CM Punk vs. Kofi Kingston
- MVP vs. Cody Rhodes
- Kelly Kelly & Rosa vs. Michelle McCool & Layla.

Other names scheduled include Alberto Del Rio, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Masters, Drew McIntyre and Teddy Long.

WWE SmackDown SPOILER Results - August 20, 2010

Posted on 08.18.10 by Jason Stone | Results |
Thanks to reader Adam Woods for sending in these results from Tuesday's tapings from Bakersfield, California.

Smackdown results for Friday:

- Rey Mysterio comes out and lets everyone know that he is glad his name was cleared in the Undertaker saga and say that he knew all along who was responsible for taker’s vegitative state. He is interupted by Alberto Del Rio who tells Rey that he is from a well known familly in Mexico and while in Rey’s bloodline are no deeper than a common Tijuana bario steetrat. Del Rio sticks his chin out berating rey daring him to hit him. They start going to to blows when Rey gets the upper hand and hits the 619 it’s annouced that later tonight we’ll have Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio.

Intercontinental Championship match

- Kofi Kingston beats Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrerro by DQ. Ziggler attack Kofi after the match and beats him down so bad that he needed to be helped to the back.

We are treated to backstage footage of C.M. Punk and his Sraight Edge Society.

Punk feels that his group is unraveling and after watching what the Nexus did with one of their own he lets Gallows and Sereena that if they don’t with their match against Big Show and Kelly Kelly that they will be ousted from the S.E.S.

Sereena and Luke Gallows beat Kelly Kelly and Big Show

-Christian beats Drew McIntyre with dashing Rhodes ringside. After the match both Rhodes and McIntyre gang up on Christian which leads to an injured Matt Hardy comming in to make the save which doesn’t happen as Drew and Cody run roughshed on Hardy’s injured ankle/foot. Cody and Drew servey the damage and look at each other pleased with themselves that hint that there might be a potential alliance between these two.

-Kane explains why he put his brother in a vegitative state. So to sum it up Kane feels that Taker’s ego contributed to his untimely foreboading as he spent years and years pineing until the time was right for him to lead into a false sence of security so he can stake claim as hell’s number one demon and World Heavyweight Champion.

- Alberto Del Rio beats Rey Mysterio clean via submission with a spinning armbar variation. Del Rio was perfect in his role as a better than thou heel complete with his own ring announcer (who introduced him en espanol), Gold tunk/white pattened leather boots and Pyro which is simular to Chrisitian’s when he first broke away from Edge after Edge won the King of the Ring.

Dark main event:

Steel Cage Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Title

Kane beats Jack Swagger and Rey Mysterio to retain. Before Kane could get out of the ring lights go dark and we get to see Taker who made his way to the ring. As Taker is walking towards ringside Rey leaves the cage with a fallen Jack Swagger and Kane in the ring. Taker and Kane exchange blows Swagger gets up and helps Kane. They double team Taker untill Taker gets the upper hand and Kane steps out the cage leaving Swagger alone with Taker who hits the chokeslam and tombstone piledriver and kneals with one knee and stikes his pose then leaves.

Update On RVD & Samoa Joe, Joey Styles Slams TNA - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Update On RVD & Samoa Joe, Joey Styles Slams TNA

Posted on 08.17.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
-- As we reported here last week, Rob Van Dam will be taking some time off from TNA due to the company using up most of his contracted appearances. It’s worth noting that RVD is still advertised for the September 23rd TNA house show event in New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Aside from that show, RVD is not booked for any other live events or television tapings.

-- After being kept of television for a few weeks following a recent backstage blowup a TNA iMPACT! taping, Samoa Joe is scheduled to return to action at a live event on September 9th in Windsor, Ontario. Joe has not been used by TNA since he went on a rampage backstage. Joe flipped out after Jeremy Borash announced that there was 30 seconds remaining in his match with Jeff Hardy. The match ended in a time limit draw and Joe felt the “time remaining” announcement gave away the finish for the match.

-- WWE announcer and ECW original Joey Styles was recently asked his thoughts on TNA’s Whole F’N Show edition of iMPACT. Styles said:

“I watched the Whole F’N show highlights online. I’ve seen wood chipper victims who were less of a mess than RVD. Who books that crap?”

Jim Ross Speaks On SummerSlam, Daniel Byran's Return - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Jim Ross Speaks On SummerSlam, Daniel Byran's Return

Posted on 08.17.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on last night's SummerSlam pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

Daniel Bryan's Return: "The return of Daniel Bryan was both a shocker and a very pleasant development on the PPV. The much traveled and highly skilled veteran made an impact on his few weeks of TV time prior to his release from the company. The MMA aficionado showed definitive signs of brilliance during his in ring time at Summer Slam. A very strategic maneuver by WWE to bring Bryan back into the fold and I'm anxious to see how Bryan evolves."

The Undertaker's Return: "The return of the Undertaker was a boost to the PPV. The Undertaker is one of the few, long term, incumbent stars WWE has on its roster and whenever the 'Deadman' is on a show it is a plus in my eyes as it relates to legit, 'star power.'"

Bret Hart's In-Ring Work: "Bret Hart kicking it up a notch was an eye opener. I don't ever expect to see Bret on the road much or even back in the ring as a wrestler that often but what I saw in Los Angeles Sunday night really surprised me and in a very favorable way. Bret's physicality and spring in his step was surprisingly good and I really enjoyed his time in the ring."

Nexus: "Nexus is still extremely relevant in my eyes contrary to what some fans have said in emails to this site. Too many people are taking for granted the fact that these 7 are essentially rookies in WWE, have miles to travel before they sleep....as main event stars, and were placed into an extraordinary position being thrust into the main event at Summer Slam. I did think that Nexus would pull it out and upset Team WWE going into the show. I was wrong. But I do think that this faction has healthy 'legs' and can do just fine going forward. It's easy for any of us to be a Monday morning quarterback but I like what Nexus has represented thus far and their upside. Nexus is in a marathon and not a sprint as the process to achieve resident, main event status still remains a multi year procedure."

Matt Hardy Says He Might Be Taking Time Off From WWE

Posted on 08.17.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Matt Hardy claims on his Twitter account on Saturday that he will likely be taking some time away from the squared circle as a result of WWE's 'stringent health and wellness policies'.

"Thx 4 everyone who has been concerned about my foot being jammed between the steel steps," Hardy wrote. "It was bad-it felt like my foot was bein cut off. Didn't plan to take my boot off, but I had to immediately see how bad my foot was injured. Keep in mind, it bled thru my sock & ankle tape.

"I will most likely have to miss some ring time due to WWE's stringent health & wellness policies. I'm sorry if I do guys & gals."

This is a strange update from Hardy, take it for what it's worth. We'll just have to wait and see what happens at the SmackDown tapings.

WWE Monday Night RAW Results - August 16, 2010

Posted on 08.17.10 by Jason Stone | Results |
Event: WWE Monday Night RAW
Airdate: Monday, August 16th, 2010 (USA Network)
Location: The Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
Results by 411 Mania

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

-We kick things off with the opening video package. Pyro goes off, followed by Coleslaw and Lawler introducing us in. And here comes the Nexus.

Barrett says that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Team WWE escaped with the win, but Nexus beat 6 of the best Raw had to offer. They are still here, still united, and still ready to dominate the WWE. Everybody was so concerned with what would happen if they won, but no one knew what would happen if they tasted defeat. They did taste defeat, and there are consequences for the Raw roster. There will be more suffering, more destruction and chaos, and more misery for anyone who gets in their way. And here comes Cena.

He says he's impressed. Wade Barrett talks such a big game, he has to because he's the fearless leader of Nexus. He's as tough as Snooki from Jersey Shore. Last night, Wade tapped out. He caused team Nexus to lose, and now he's out here talking about how the loss will make them stronger. It's a lie. Nexus are the expendables. And after that surprise last night, he bets their kicking themselves. When Daniel Bryan joined Team WWE, he eliminated half of the Nexus by himself. For weeks now, the Nexus has been viewed as an indestructible group, but they are human. They can be beat. So tonight, we're gonna do something different. They're going to be looked at as individuals. David Otunga is a below average man who clings to someones arm on the red carpet. Tarver looks like some bank robber who works nights as a male stripper. If those trunks were smaller they'd change the ratings of the show. Is that Heath Slater, or the chick from Wendy's? Picture is included with joke. We just got a Wendy's chant. Darren Young, the very existence of him has proven mother affairs with Buckwheat true. Justin Gabriel has an alternative way of thinking. Skip looks like it was over his head. Skip is thinking right now, mow mow mow mow mow mow mow mow mow. The Nexus is nothing more than human. The fear instilled in the locker room is gone. They lost last night, and Staples Center, Summerslam will always be known as the place where Nexus was history!! Young gave up in under a minute. His name shouldn't be Darren Young, but instead the weakest link.

The Nexus argues in the ring, and Coleslaw's got an email. Nexus may claim to be stronger than ever, but those words will be put to test. Summerslam will continue tonight. Each member of Nexus will compete against members of Team WWE in a series of matches. Outside interference will be met with consequences. Barrett says that's not punishment, that's an opportunity for redemption. And a chance to reexamine the Nexus. Cena says they need a whole lot of redemption because Wade tapped out. Barrett says it's a chance to examine the Nexus and see if there are any weak links. And if there are weak links, they will be weeded out. If anybody in the Nexus is not victorious, they will be exiled from the group. By the end of tonight, the Nexus will be stronger than ever. Otunga says that's fine, but that also applies to him. If Wade loses, any one of them would be more than happy to take over. Cole's got another email. One last thing, Nexus can choose who they face against Team WWE, except for Wade Barrett. Barrett will compete next against his former mentor, Chris Jericho. The Nexus talk in the ring as we go to commercial.

Match 1: Wade Barrett vs Chris Jericho

We're back, and Jericho makes his way to the ring with a good reaction from the crowd. Both guys stare down, and Jericho goes on the attack. Back elbow by Jericho, and he starts hitting Barrett with the kicks. Suplex follows. Barrett with knees to the midsection. He runs off the ropes but gets hit with a dropkick. Barrett goes to the apron, and Jericho takes him out with a springboard dropkick. Jericho goes to the outside and throws Barrett back into the ring. Jericho goes to the top but Barrett takes him out with a boot. Barrett starts ramming Jericho into the ring and then throws Jericho back in. Hard irish whip by Barrett, sending Chris flying into the corner. Chop by Jericho to come back, and now the right hands. Kick by Barrett to regain control. He now starts choking Jericho in the ropes. Bow and Arrow submission by Barrett. Jericho gets back up but Barrett hits him with a knee. Boot in the corner by Jericho. He nails a missile dropkick off the second rope. Pin but only two. Both guys trade shots. Shoulderblock by Chris. And another. Running bulldog follows. Jericho with a double leg, and Barrett counters out of the Walls attempt. Wasteland countered into a roll up and then into the Walls. Barrett immediately gets to the ropes. Jericho argues with the ref, and turns right into a boot. Pin but only two. Jericho counters a springing back suplex and hits an enzuigiri. Codebreaker countered into the Wasteland. 1...2...3.

Winner: Wade Barrett (First off, yeah, I'm gonna start playing around with the Heads a little more, and with Charlie Day guest hosting, what better time than now. Second off, this was a good match, and with a much needed win for Barrett. Both guys have some good chemistry and both got an equal amount of offense in)

-Justin Roberts introduces the guest hosts, Justin Long, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudekis. They all welcome us to Monday Night Raw. This is awkward. They say it's amazing to be in the Staples Center. It reminds them of the NBA World Champions. And of course it makes him think about next years NBA Champs, Miami Heat. Boo. Long says they're booing because it's the home of the LA Lakers. They're about to introduce the tag champions, the Hart Dynasty. And here they come.

Cole's got an email. He says from this moment forward, the Unified Tag Team Championships will be known as the WWE Tag Team Championships. And here to present the new titles, Bret "Hitman" Hart.

And here comes Bret, and he's got the new titles with him. Bret gives them the belts, and the Hart Dynasty hold them high. Barrett is on the titantron. Barrett says they've chosen Justin Gabriel to face Bret. Gabriel says Bret's might have experienced a lot of things in his career, but tonight he experiences the 450 Splash.

-Cole and Lawler talk about Miz wanting to be part of the tag match last night, but Cena instead chose Bryan.

Match 2: Michael Tarver vs Daniel Bryan

Tie up to start, and Tarver pushes Bryan into the corner. Shots to the gut by Tarver. Boot by Bryan, but Tarver doesn't let up. Flying knee by Bryan. Pin but only two. Bryan now works down the arm. Flipping front facelock by Bryan. Pin but only two. Kicks to the chest by Bryan. And he's not letting up. Daniels slides under the legs of Tarver and hits a dropkick. Diving basement dropkick off the top. Miz and Riley come running down to ringside. Roll up by Tarver, and he gets the three.

Winner: Michael Tarver (Decent outing here. It was pretty short, but both guys got in a decent amount of offense. This does a good job of continuing the Miz/Bryan feud while giving Tarver a much needed win)

Bryan with a suicide dive through the ropes, taking out Miz and Riley. Tarver runs out and it's now a three on one situation. Miz drives Bryan right into the barricade, and starts wailing on him with punches. Riley puts the briefcase on the ground. Miz with the Skull Crushing Finale onto the case. That looked brutal.

-Miz and Riley are walking in the back, and Matthews asks Miz to explain his actions. Miz said that since the moment Bryan arrived, he's been Miz's rookie, and they said Bryan should have been his pro. Miz went out to be part of Team WWE, and they put him on the back burner for Bryan. How dare them. How special is Bryan now? You want to see something special. Look no further than Alex Riley. Riley says he's not an overrated, underdeveloped nerd. He's the next winner of NXT, and he owes it all to his pro, The Miz.

-Nexus are in the back, and Young has something to say. He says he wants John Cena. He brutally attacked him last month, and he's taking him out. Otunga says tonight is about redemption. Young's stepping up, and Otunga respects that.

-Gabriel makes his way down to the ring, and he faces Bret Hart next.

Match 3: Justin Gabriel vs Bret Hart

Cole's got an email. He's sorry for Justin, but Hart won't be competing. He doesn't like Bret Hart, and never wants to see him on Raw again. OK, it's definitely Triple H. He has decided to make this last minute substitution, and Justin's new opponent is on his way to the ring.

Match 3: Justin Gabriel vs Randy Orton

Gabriel shoves Orton. Orton drives Justin into the corner. Gabriel ducks a right and hits a kick to the leg. Headlock by Justin. He flips over a backdrop attempt and hits some kicks. Orton's got a cocky grin. Kick by Orton. Oton catches a kick and just stares at Gabriel. Clothesline. And another. Vintage scoop slam follows. Hangmans DDT connects. Five Moves of Doom are almost complete. Orton's hyping the RKO. Sheamus makes his way to the ring and Orton starts taking it to him. Orton clotheslines him over the barricade and they brawl through the crowd. The ref counts to ten.

Winner: Justin Gabriel (Too short, and really didn't do anything for either guy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Orton storms back into the ring after hearing the decision. RKO to Gabriel! Orton goes to the outside and picks up a chair. He starts taking out Sheamus with it. Baw gawd. Orton starts to walk away. He second guesses that, and runs back to Sheamus. RKO!

Match 4: The Nexus (David Otunga and Skip Sheffield) vs John Morrison and R-Truth

R-Truth comes down to the ring, doing his whole rapping and dance stuff.

No, not like that.

Apparently Cole's taking exception to that though. Morrison and Otunga start things off. Tie up to start, and Morrison works down the arm. Russian leg sweep by Morrison, and Truth gets the tag. Leg drop off the top by Truth. Pin but Sheffield breaks it up. Sheffield now gets the tag. Truth ducks a shot and hits some of his own. Truth goes for the float over, but Sheffield catches him and drills him with the powerslam. Stomps by Skip. European uppercut follows. Otunga gets the tag and shoulder blocks Truth in the corner. Reverse STO by Truth. Morrison gets the hot tag. Clothesline, dropsault and a flying kick by Morrison. Sheffield got the tag and takes out Morrison. He's setting up the clothesline. And he gets it. Pin and this one's over.

Winner: Nexus (Pretty short, but did a good job of making both Sheffield and Otunga look like dominant forces)

-We see Eve, Gail Kim and Melina walking in the back, and we got 6 diva tag team action when we come back. You can't miss it. Or else.

Match 5: Eve, Gail Kim, and Diva's Champion Melina vs Alicia Fox, Maryse and Jillian

The level of hotness is so high in this match that bums are probably masturbating in alleyway.

Jon Lovitz is in the crowd, yelling at Jerry Lawler or something. Maryse and Gail start things off. Drop toe hold by Gail, and she slams Maryse's beautiful face into the match. You bitch. Springboard crossbody by Gail. Pin but only two. Gail ties Maryse to the tree of woe. Melina gets the tag. Running guillotine attack connects. Maryse drives Melina into the corner. Melina fights them off, but gets drilled with a kick. Pin but only two. Alicia gets the tag. Northern lights suplex connects. Snapmare follows, and a chinlock is applied. She fights out and here comes Eve. Eve with dropkicks to Jillian. Scoop slam follows. Running senton, though horribly botches. Alicia's in, and so is Melina. They brawl to the outside. Maryse goes for the DDT, but Gail takes her out. Back elbow by Eve, and she nails a kick. Moonsault coming up, but Jillian pulls Eve down for the roll up and gets the win.

Winner: Jillian Hall, Maryse and Alicia Fox (Pretty bad and seemed really disjointed at some parts. I'm assuming Jillian is now next in line of the random lists of number one contenders. Whatever)

-Edge is in the back. He says their victory wasn't surprising. Heath Slater shows up. Slater says they're gonna face off, and maybe they could work something out. They both have the same haircut and rockstar good looks. Maybe Edge takes tonight off. Another member of Nexus winning by forfeit, it's no big deal. Edge says he doesn't want the record books to show him forfeiting to some Wendy looking ginger hair wannabe. Edge turns around, and Slater nails him from behind.

-Joe Manganielo from True Blood is in attendance.

Match 6: Heath Slater vs Edge

Edge goes straight on the attack to start. Stomps in the corner. Hard irish whip into the corner by Edge. Clothesline by Edge, and he poses to the crowd. Edge goes up to the top. Slater takes him down though, and then basement dropkicks him to the outside. Slater bumrushes Edge into the barricade. Pin back on the inside, but only two. Submission by Slater is applied. Edge fights out. He goes to run off the ropes, but Slater grabs him by the hair and yanks him down to the mat. Big right hand by Slater. Back elbow follows. Pin but only two. Edge avoids Slater in the corner and starts getting the clotheslines. Edgeomatic. Pin but Slater kicks out at two. Huge flapjack by Slater. Pin but only two. Running shoulder block in the corner by Edge, and Slater rolls to the outside. Slater avoids a baseball slide. Edge ducks a clothesline and nails a boot. Edge wants the Spear. He goes for it, but Slater slides back into the ring just in time for the countout victory.

Winner: Heath Slater (Edge did a solid job of putting over Slater, as both guys got in a good amount of offense. Why Edge couldn't take the pinfall finish is something I question, though it could just be to put over how smart the Nexus is)

Slater celebrates the win. SPEAR!!!

-All of the members of Nexus have survived. Cena will take on Darren Young later on.

-Khali is in the back with Justin Long. Long hypes up the Kiss Cam shit. Khali says some random shit. Singh says Khali's girlfriend lives in India and he's never had a long distance relationship. Singh shows Long a picture of her, and Long looks disgusted. Day and Jason show up, and freak out at the picture. They tell Singh not to translate. They start talking about how Khali doesn't speak English. Khali swipes the photo away and they run off scared. Long says the girl's not bad looking. Khali says she's ugly. The Bella's show up and walk off with Khali. God, that segment was like a car crash.

-We see clips of the WWE roster hyping up Summerslam.

Match 7: Darren Young vs John Cena

We get a recap of Cena destroying Young on Raw a month ago. Just before this match starts, the Nexus show up on the stage. Young with a roll up, but Cena kicks out quick. Backslide by Young, and Cena kicks out again. Cena works down the arm and hits a headlock takeover. Roll up counter by Young, but Cena kicks out again. Tie up, and Young locks in a headlock. Cena pushes him off, ducks under, leapfrogs over and hits a shoulder block. Another headlock takeover by Cena. Young gets up and hits a backsuplex to counter out. Clothesline by Young. Pin but only one. Suplex follows. Pin but only two. Cena starts to fight back. Kick to the gut by Young, and he hits a neckbreaker. Pin but only two. Sleeper locked in by Young. Cena fights out and goes back on the attack. Elbow in the corner by Young stops Cena. Elbow drop follows. Pin but only two. And a leg drop. And another. Pin but again only two. Northern lights suplex by Young, and Cena kicks out at two. Young throws Cena to the outside. He then dropkicks the steps into him. The count is on. Cena flies into the ring at 9. Young is furious. Cena avoids a leg drop. He starts fighting back with the rights. Five Moves of Doom have begun. Shoulder block, and another. Slam by Cena. You Can't See Me! Five Knuckle Shuffle. Attitude Adjustment countered into a roll up attempt, but Cena counters that into the STF. Young taps out.

Winner: John Cena (Decent match here, and I'm surprised Young got in as much offense as he did. The formula for Young was hit move, pin, repeat, but that's not necessarily a bad strategy, just kind of boring)

The Nexus runs down to the ring and surrounds Cena. They allow Cena to leave though. They surround Young. Otunga takes him out from behind, and it's now a 6 on 1 assault. Clothesline by Sheffield. Wasteland by Barrett. Gabriel goes up to the top. 450 connects. Nexus poses to the crowd as we fade out.

Melina Injury Update, HBK Talks Daniel Bryan, HHH On TMZ

Posted on 08.16.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- Melina posted the following on Twitter today about her knee injury: "Im still overwhelmed. Reading all these tweets from all of u. Thank u! U guys r the best. My knee is ok. Just a tweak. Thank U 4 ur concern."

-- Former WWE superstar Shawn Michaels has commented on his former student Daniel Bryan’s return to the company at SummerSlam. Michaels wrote: "So Bryan is back. All I can say is wise move by WWE. You just don’t leave that kind of talent out there. Happy for all parties. By the way, was this whole thing a scam? It got me. At the end of the day, who cares? Things are as they should be. That’s far more important."

-- TMZ.com caught up with Triple H over the weekend in Los Angeles at an event for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which he is now working with. Triple H told TMZ that back in 2005 when WWE was overseas in England, the WWE crew got into a big brawl with a group of drunken kickboxers. Triple H says when the WWE superstars got back to their hotel, the kickboxers were waiting for them and wanted to fight. Local newspapers reported on the story in the days after the incident and wrote that the WWE superstars destroyed the kickboxers - which Triple H says is absolutely true.

Paul Heyman On TNA: "They're Not Ready For Me" - 24Wrestling.com 24Wrestling.com - Pro Wrestling News
Paul Heyman On TNA: "They're Not Ready For Me"

Posted on 08.16.10 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
In an interview with MMA Hour Live, Paul Heyman talked a bit about working with TNA, saying the following:

"They're not ready for me. They're not there yet. I kind of have self-justified my own interest in TNA as a network of stock and ownership. I left pro wrestling in December 2006 and I haven't done one shoot DVD, one convention appearance, one cameo. I haven't done anything on wrestling."

Heyman confirmed that TNA has reached out to him many times in the last year but he didn't take it seriously until Dixie Carter contacted him and offered him potential ownership points and stock, as well as potential side projects with Spike TV. He concluded though that they weren't ready for his ideas, particularly using things from MMA to influence wrestling. He also said that TNA is not looking long term and only wants short term solutions and that they don't have their own vision for what they want to be.

Heyman added that he would get rid of everyone over 40 in TNA if he was in charge, saying their place is to be used for promotional events, autograph signings, and video games, but not as the core, noting that TNA's focus seems to be on former ECW guys in their 40s, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair.

"If you were over 40, I'd chop your f***ing head off. I want a guy who is entering the prime of his career and shape him and mold him."

"Imagine if all they did the entire show was promote the Beer Money vs. Motor City Machineguns match and had Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and the ECW guys saying they needed to see that match and said these guys are the future now. Then, if you put that match in the main event - as opposed to the middle of the card with no follow-up - and produce and present them as the main event. Then, if 'you buy this product, this is the progressive type of presentation we are going to present to you.' Instead, you have Hulk Hogan in his 50s thanking ECW guys in their 40s before the ECW guys are beat up by a group led by Ric Flair in his 60s."

Backstage News On Daniel Bryan's Return, More SSlam News

Posted on 08.16.10 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- WWE.com actually spoiled the Daniel Bryan return by posting an article on his return shortly before it actually happened at Summerslam. The plan now is for Bryan to be on the RAW brand going forward and will also finish out his previously announced independent dates.

According to our sources, the decision to bring Daniel Bryan back for SummerSlam was made a few days ago. While some people within the company suspected that he might be brought back at the final member of Team WWE, his presence in Los Angeles was kept a secret until just before SummerSlam went on the air.

-- Instead of confiscating signs during the show like they usually do, WWE had people confiscating signs at the door for Summerslam last night. Any signs related to Daniel Bryan or Bryan Danielson were taken and pre-made signs were given out in exchange.

-- To keep the main event surprise secret, WWE did not allow anyone except those in the match itself view the run-through before the show.

Event: WWE SummerSlam Pay-Per-View
Airdate: Sunday, August 15th, 2010 (Pay-Per-View)
Location: The Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

WWE SummerSlam Opener:

We get a video package to open the show that highlights the main feuds heading into tonight, especially the Nexus vs. Team Cena feud.

The pyro hits and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show proper. He touts the sold out crowd at the Staples Center in LA before introducing his partners Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker who send it to the ring to kick things off with a title match. Dolph Ziggler’s music hits, and the champion makes his way to the ring being accompanied by Vickie Guerrero.

Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

Vickie grabs the mic and does her ‘Excuse Me’ schtick. Kofi’s music hits to interrupt her however.

Ziggler looks hot, and Kofi is ready, the bell rings and Kingston wastes no time. Kingston punches and kicks at Ziggler before clotheslining him over the rope. Kofi tries for a suicide dive, but Vickie pulls Ziggler out of the way and Kofi crashes into the barricade.

Kofi is able to make it back into the ring where Ziggler brings the attack right to him with a big neckbreaker that’s good for a near fall. Ziggler locks in a sleeper hold, but Kofi is able to fight back up to his feet. Ziggler hits Kingston with a boot to the stomach and chokes him on the bottom rope, but Kofi is able to mount a comeback with a series of kicks. Ziggler is able to send Kofi face first into the middle turnbuckle for another near fall. Ziggler locks in a rear chin lock, continuing to work Kofi over.

Kofi tries to fight out, but Ziggler continues to put on the pressure, not letting up with the rear chin lock. Kofi fights up to his feet and pounds at Ziggler’s midsection, making his way out of the hold. Ziggler also missed a splash in the corner, allowing Kofi to catch his breath. Kofi hits Ziggler with a series of strikes before hitting a big dropkick. Kingston hits a Thesz press and punches away at Ziggler before going for the boom drop.

A series of pinfalls leads to a series of near falls, and Ziggler is able to connect with a rocker dropper to put Kingston down. Ziggler goes for the pin, but he still only scores a two count. Kofi goes to the top rope and connects with a single axe handle smash. Kingston goes for Trouble in Paradise, but he misses and Ziggler is able to lock in a sleeper hold. The Nexus make their way out to the ring and take out both Ziggler and Kingston.

Ziggler is sent out of the ring and the Nexus surround Kingston. Kingston tries to fight his way out, but the Nexus just lay waste to Kofi, taking him down and just c
