TNA taped an episode and a half tonight and the matches were ALL OVER the place so other than the Series matches, I am not sure what order the show will go in.
For the Thanksgiving Episode they did away with the Turkey Bowl and will be doing a Championship Series with the winner getting a shot at the respective titles in their Division, meaning if you primarily wrestle in the Tag Division, you get a Tag Title Shot.
IMPACT TAPING RESULTS
Bobby Lashley vs. Abyss Championship Series Quarterfinal When they take the fight to the outside Abyss accidently throws an elbow and hits Krystal. Abyss doesn't realize he hit Krystal and when he has his back turned looking outside the ring at her Bobby Lashley hits a spear for the win.
Suicide vs. Desmond Wolfe Championship Series Quarterfinals Desmond Wolfe pins Suicide after the Tower of London.
Kurt Angle vs. The Pope Championship Series Quarterfinal Kurt pins Pope after an Angle Slam. Both men were TOTALLY over, Pope is now entering through the Face Tunnel.
Homicide vs. Robert Rude Championship Series Quarterfinal Rude won after he hit Homicide with a spinebuster.
Tara won a Knockout Battle Royal for a title shot at Final Resolution which included The Beautiful People, Taylor Wilde, Sarita, Daffney, Hamada, and Tracy Brooks. ODB was out at ringside as a "special ref" to watch the action. After Tara won ODB got in the ring and raised her hand, Tara went to shake her hand but ODB slapped her hand away and walked out of the ring.
Daniels (Who is 100% heel now) vs. Abyss AJ started out sitting at commentary but ended up standing next to the table with his arms folded just watching the action. Daniels pinned Abyss after a low blow and a roll up when Abyss was distracted by the Beautiful People attacking Lauren in the Ladies Room on the big screen. Daniels motioned for AJ to get in the ring and after some taunting AJ took off his watch and emptied his pockets, before he could make it in the ring AJ was attacked by his masked assailant.
Bobby Lashley vs Desmond Wolfe Championship Series Semifinal Lashley beat Wolfe when Referee Earl Hebner DQ'd Desmond for not breaking the submission he had on Lashley in the ropes. Wolfe worked over the arm of Lashely for most of the match.
Robert Roode vs. Kurt Angle Roode beats Angle by Countout after Wolfe came out and the 2 brawled on the entrance ramp. Angle tried running into the ring before the referee's 10 count but just missed it, which is a shame cause the two had a great match.
Jesse Neal vs. The Pope In his re-debut match on Impact, Jesse Neal took the fall to Pope after the Dinero Express. After the match, Jesse "Gored" the Pope and then the lights went out. Suicide appeared on the top turnbuckle and dropkicked Neal. Team 3D and Rhino charged the ring and the 4 surrounded Pope and Suicide. This brings out Morgan and Hernandez who quickly clear the ring. After a stare down and the heels attempting to get back in the ring, the heels make their way to the back and the faces celebrate in the ring.
AJ Styles comes to the ring and first has a message for Sting, he says its the holidays and he is worried about Sting cause he hasn't heard from him, so he asks Sting to get in touch with him. Then he moves on to Daniels who comes to the ring and runs down AJ about being selfish and not being a good friend. I really couldn't hear everything cause the crowd kept telling Daniels to shut up and it was really loud. Nothing physical though, Daniels just leaves the ring.
Hamada vs. Sarita These two had a really good back and forth match which ended with Hamada hitting the Michinoku Driver.
Bobby Lashley vs. Robert Roode Championship Series Finals Some really good wrestling with the crowd being split...Lashley gets the win after a spear. He now receives a future TNA World Heavyweight Championship match, they didn't say anything about it being a Final Resolution.
Xplosion Match Kiyoshi pinned Kip James after spraying mist in his eyes and a short DDT.
Some additional spoilers notes to add to JD's TNA Impact spoilers for the episode that will air tomorrow:
*During the opening 8 man tag, the MCMG got the win using the Neckbreaker/Frog Splash combo. Rob Terry cost World Elite the match when Sabin ducked a clothesline and Terry hit a member of the British Invasion. After the match the World Elite were all having words with Big Rob.
*When Daniels pinned Styles during the tag match he celebrated as if he had won the title, screaming "I told you"
*In the Alex Shelley vs Doug Williams match the referee sent all teammates at ringside to the back, Brutus and Big Rob sucker punched Sabin on their way to the back, the teammates were not at ringside during the match.

Backstage Heat On Michael Cole
Posted on 11.17.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Partial Source: PWInsider
Sources say that Michael Cole has some major heat on him right now from within WWE. The feeling is that he isn't taking his job seriously anymore and officials aren't happy with some of his "stupid" comments made on TV lately. They also feel that he is no longer putting the company first.
There may be another shuffling of announcers soon as Jerry Lawler being attacked on RAW Monday night and Matt Striker filling in for him was done so WWE could test the waters to see how the different announcers work together. Vince is said to be very high on Matt Striker at the moment.
Word is that several people who had been trying out for the new WWE announcer spot were contacted this past week and thanked for applying but were told that someone else had been hired.

TNA taped an episode and-a-half of iMPACT this week, with a total of 11 matches.
The tapings start with Desmond Wolfe coming to the ring and he wants to set the record straight about his match with Kurt Angle at Turning Point. Wolfe says that Angle used an illegal submission hold last night to beat him and that Angle did not beat him. Desmond claims that he kept Angle from winning the belt and he says that he will end Angle at Final Resolution in a Two Out of Three Falls Match where the first fall will be for a pinfall; the second fall will be submission; and the third will be inside a cage.
Kurt Angle comes out in his gear and Angle talks about how they are compared. Angle storms the ring and climbs teh cage. Angle and Wolfe brawl inside the cage until Desmond uses brass knuckles on Angle. Wolfe throws Angle into the cage a few times and then Wolfe taunted Angle before he left the ring.
Match Number One: Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money defeated British Invasion, Sheik Abdul Bashir, and Kiyoshi. The finish was a neck breaker and splash combination on Magnus. Eric Young was at the announce table for commentary and Kevin Nash was also at ringside for the match. During the match, Rob Terry tried to interfere, but Sabin took care of him. Beer Money had a verbal altercation with Eric Young during the match.
They play the opening Impact video with pyro.
Mick Foley and Abyss come to the ring and Foley has a patch over his eye. Foley says that due to the Hogan situation, he now has to present an ID to get into the Impact Zone. Foley says that no one messes around with them. Foley says that they will exact revenge tonight. Abyss starts to speak but he is interrupted by Raven, Dr. Stevie, and Daffney. Stevie makes jokes about burning Mick Foley and then he hands the mic to Raven. Raven says that he wants the old Foley back and he says that Foley is more worried about Hulk Hogan than anything else. Foley says that he will wrestle tonight and it will be Foley and Abyss versus Raven and Stevie.
Match Number Two: Amazing Red defeated Scott Steiner by Disqualification in a Non Title Match. Steiner hit the Steiner Screwdriver on Red and then he grabbed the 'Big Poppa Pipe' and hit Red with it to cause the disqualification.
Bobby Lashley came out to make the save for Amazing Red. Steiner went up the ramp and Lashley said that Steiner will be sorry at Final Resolution.
Match Number Three: Hamada defeated Taylor Wilde with a Ki Krusher.
Match Number Four: Abyss and Mick Foley defeated Stevie and Raven by disqualification. Mick Foley never came to the ring for the match. Raven was going to throw a fireball in Abyss' face, but Abyss kicked the lighter out of Raven's hand. The referee saw the lighter and called for the disqualification. After the match, Raven and Stevie beat down Abyss and chokes Abyss with a cable.
Match Number Five: Daniels and Desmond Wolfe defeated Kurt Angle and A.J. Styles. Desmond hit the Tower of London on Styles and got a two count. Then he tagged in Daniels who hit the BME for the victory while Angle and Wolfe brawled to the back.
Match Number Six: Team 3D and Rhino defeated D'Angelo Dinero, Matt Morgan, and Hernandez. Hernandez had the match won with Rhino pinned after a GORE but Ray pulled the referee out of the ring. Jesse Neal came to the ring with a new look. Jesse hit Hernandez with a chair and he put Rhino on top of Hernandez to get the three count.
Match Number Seven: Sarita defeated Alissa Flash with a kick to the face. After the match, Traci Brooks runs to the ring and attacks Flash on the ramp. Security has to separate Flash and Brooks.
Bobby and Kristal Lashley come to the ring. Bobby says that he has nothing to say to Steiner and all of his talking will take place at Final Resolution. Kristal calls Steiner sick and says that she has never been disrespected like this at Bobby's MMA fights. Kristal says that when she barks, Bobby bites.
Match Number Eight: Eric Young and Kevin Nash defeated Beer Money after a low blow and piledriver on James Storm.
Mick Foley comes out after the match and says that Nash knows who Hogan is bringing in. Foley says that Nash needs to tell him why Hogan is coming. Nash says that Foley is being paranoid. Nash tells Foley that he should contact him. Nash says that when the boss, Hogan, gets here, there may be a possibility of the band getting back together.
Match Number Nine: Suicide defeated Homicide by backslide. After the match, Homicide attacked Suicide and tried to remove Suicide's mask. D'Angelo Dinero ran to the ring and Homicide left the ring. Dinero offered his hand to Suicide but Suicide refused to shake it. The lights went out and when the lights went back on, Suicide was no longer in the ring.
Match Number Ten: Alex Shelley defeated Doug Williams with Sliced Bread #2. Brutus and Rob came to the ring with Williams while Sabin came to the ring with Shelley. Brutus and Terry attacked Sabin during the match.
Kurt Angle comes out to the ring and Mick Foley enters the ring too. Foley says that he told Angle that he would give Kurt his match with Desmond Wolfe, but because Angle did not tell Angle everything he knew about Hogan. Since he didn't tell him everything, Angle will be wrestling Stevie and Raven.
Match Number Eleven: Kurt Angle defeated Stevie and Raven by making Raven tap to the ankle lock. During the match, Abyss came out and gave Stevie a Black Hole Slam on the ramp. After the match ended, Desmond Wolfe came to the ring through the crowd and gave Angle a hammer lock DDT.

WWE Monday Night RAW Results - November 17, 2009
Posted on 11.17.09 by Jason Stone | Results |
Event: WWE Monday Night RAW Airdate: Monday, November 16th, 2009 (USA Network) Location: Madison Square Garden in New York, New York Results by 411 Mania
“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”
-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler
-Roddy Piper welcomes us from Piper's Pit along with actor Luis Guzman. He has a guest for Guzman as he is a chef, and introduces the Iron Chef Bobby Flay. Instead we get the Iron Sheik, who goes on a profanity free Sheik rant on Hulk Hogan. We finish up with a LIVE FROM NEW YORK ITS MONDAY NIGHT!
-The set for tonight's show is more along the lines of the MSG pay per views rather than the standard Raw set.
Chavo Guerrero vs. Santino Marella Santino keeps up the theme of the night wearing a Rangers jersey to the ring. He takes off the Rangers sweater to reveal an Eli Manning jersey underneath. Next up a Knicks jersey, and then a Mark Sanchez jersey. Next up Santino reveals a Johan Santana jersey, and finally SWERVE a Phillies jersey. The crowd boos that, so last but not least it's a Yankees jersey. The Islanders are forgotten again. Chavo finally has had enough of these sheannigans, and delivers the three amigos to Santino. Chavo goes to the top rope for the Frog Splash, so Santino rolls across the ring. They repeat that spot two more times, and now here's Hornswoggle. He distracts Chavo long enough for Santino get a rollup victory at 2:48. I see what they were going for, but it misfired big time. Winner: Santino Marella (Pinfall-Rollup -**)
-DX are out now, and HHH starts by sucking up to the New Yorkers a little bit. HHH says they wanted to come out and do their normal schtick, but unfortunately it's not going to happen. Shawn says it's true, they're not going to let us know that on wweshop.com their book is available right now. HHH points them in the direction of a Borders book store adjacent to the building. HHH says instead they're going to talk about the triple threat match this Sunday. HHH says they've heard what Cena said about them turning on each other, but it's not going to happen. HHH says they're on the same page, and they're going to work together as a unit. He says it doesn't matter which one of them it is, as long as the belts are in DX. Shawn says it's not like they're going to compete with each other, as they surely will but you can't tear DX apart. Shawn says he has more important business to attend to, and that's a member of the Leprechaun community. HHH calls out Hornswoggle, and says this is America and even little people can live their dream. He says if Swoggle comes out now they'll consider allowing him in DX. Swoggle happily jumps in the ring with them, and crotch chops his way around the ring until HHH orders him to stop. HHH says if he wants to be in DX he has to get in line, and he asks if he's ready. That leads to the whole "Are You Ready?" spiel from Hunter, but he cuts it short and instead PEDIGREES HORNSWOGGLE. Crowd pleaded with HHH to do it, and then popped anyway which I'm not sure was the desired reaction. Shawn pulls a little stretcher out from under the ring, and carries the little guy away.
-Cool video package on MSG prominently featuring some of the great moments in the arena's history. No hiding from current TNA stars Hogan, Foley, and Angle either.
-Roddy Piper is still hanging out in Piper's Pit with the obligatory coconuts, before he is interrupted by Chris Jericho. Jericho starts complaining about the disrespect to him, but Piper just blows his nose in his face and says he's got something special for Jericho. He finds "Big Chris" (Masters) because he was so impressed by his dancing mobs two weeks. This week Masters does the pec flex to "Boom Boom Boom" by the Black Eyed Peas which impresses the Bellas and disgusts Jericho. This show is absurdly random tonight, but in a really good way thus far.
-"The Greatest Athlete in the World" Judah Friedlander from 30 Rock is out as guest ring announcer next, as this show continues to get more strange
-Roddy Piper comes out as Michael Cole gets ANOTHER Hulk Hogan mention in. This can't be by accident. Piper thanks the fans, and says he made his career on not being so nice. He says only New Yorkers would put up with that. He says he didn't do everything right, and he had some embarrassing moments right here in the ring. Piper says he took on Captain Lou, Bruno Sammartino, Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan (there's another one), and he says this is proof that if you mess with Hot Rod you're either going to be bald or dead. He says he loves them all, but mostly the dead ones. He then claims he's the reason Hogan has no hair. Piper says he did some unspeakable things, and loved every minute of it, but he has one more dirty deed before he checks out. He wants one more match with Vincent Kennedy McMahon. He says he knows Vince is a big fan of his, because when he did Real Sports with Bryant Gumble Vince fired him right here in this building. He says he knows Vince is back there, and that finally brings out the chairman. Vince exposes Piper's hair dye, and says he would suggest Piper did some awful things at MSG. He says the most heinous thing he ever did at MSG was show up here tonight. Vince says Mother Nature hasn't been too kind to Hot Rod, and asks when the last time he had his 100,000 mile checkup was. He says Piper still has the same skinny arms and legs, and his catcher's mit face. He says if he soiled his hands with Hot Rod his father and grandfather would be ashamed of him. Piper says there are plenty of things for us to be ashamed of Vince namely the suit that Mr. Gotti bought for him. Vince calls Piper "father time" and then says people tell him all the time they wish they could look as good as him when they're his age. He always responds they don't look better than him now, and that also applies to all of the superstars he's stepped in the ring with and beaten. He says unless he finds better competition he is officially retired from ring action. Piper says that's all the games he's going to play with him. He calls Vince a coward, and says he's been in 7,000 car crashes and 30 pro wrestling matches. He then says to reverse it around, and says he's not sane, he's been electrocuted, been in plane crashes, and has had cancer. He beat that, and he can beat Vince. He says for Vince to be accountable to the people who made him a billionaire. He says doesn't want this on pay per view, but instead he wants to do it tonight. He tells Vince he'll be back out tonight if Vince has the guts he'll retire him for good.
-Sheamus says he's been on Raw on for four weeks, and he's already put one man out of the business. Tonight he's issuing an open challenge to anyone who has the guts to step in the ring with the Celtic Warrior. No one answers so he attacks the timekeeper randomly, and throws him across the announce table into the guardrail. That leads to what looks like the obligatory Jerry Lawler save, but it appears Sheamus has seen this episode before because he gives Lawler the big boot as soon as he stands up. Cole goes off mic to check on Lawler along with a host of officials and trainers.
-Matt Striker replaces Lawler (best trade up in history) as he "lives in New York City and was hear for the show"
-It should be noted we're closing in on 90 minutes in and we've had 8:12 of wrestling tonight. TNA Impact thinks that's bad.
Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger Joined in progress out of the break with Bourne locked in a waistlock from Swagger. Bourne back elbows free, but Swagger delivers a clothesline to regain control. Swagger goes for a suplex, but Bourne knees his was into a counter and a rollup for two. Bourne hits a dropkick sending Swagger to the corner, and then delivers the double knee off the top rope for a two count. Bourne goes for a moonsault but gets caught by Swagger who drives him into both turnbuckles. Gutwrench powerbomb finishes for Swagger at 2:00. Much like all the wrestling tonight, far too short. Winner: Jack Swagger (Pinfall-Gutwrench Powerbomb *1/2)
-Roddy Piper awaits Mr. McMahon in the ring, but instead he is interrupted by Randy Orton. I knew something was missing tonight. Orton says he doesn't know if McMahon is coming out here or not, but he does know that Piper has a big problem because he is here. Orton says he can't think of a better way to relieve a little stress than to put him down right now. He attacks Piper with a kick to the gut, but Piper fights back with a cheap shot. That only serves to incense Orton who stomps Piper down. Piper who has apparently not watched much of Orton climbs to his knees, so Orton sets up for the punt. Orton goes to punt Piper, and the he has to stop as it appears that the sound guy missed the cue! EPIC TRAINWRECK. Kofi's music clearly starts AFTER Orton stops charging, and Orton even appears to visibly throw his hands up in the air in disgust as Kofi finally gets to the ring. That leads to a big brawl between Orton and Kingston which Orton gets the best of. Orton decides to set up Kofi for the punt, but Kofi explodes with a flying clothesline to go on the comeback trail. The brawl continues through the crowd, until FINALLY officials are out to break them up. The officials can't keep them apart though as Kofi chases Orton into the bleachers and dumps him over the railing into the production area. Kofi finally blasts Orton with a steel lid for the technical trunks busting Orton open. Kofi then tries to dive off the railing onto Orton, but officials pull him off. That's only temporary though as Kofi returns to deliver the boom drop off the guardrail through a production table to Orton. Horrible botch on the Piper Punt aside, everything after Kofi got to the ring was gold. Great segment.
John Cena is backstage. He cuts a promo on New York and the main event. He tries to be like The Rock. Sorry John, you're not him. Good try though. Cena says 'Taker is not easy to talk to. He thought he was dead. Really? A production assistant shows up and hands him a piece of paper. WWE Survivor Series in a Triple Threat Match. We know this John. He says he's ready. He'll win at Survivor Series. Yadda Yadda Yadda.
Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. DX vs. John Cena & The Undertaker
The WWE Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Chris Jericho make their way to the ring first and we take a commercial break as they enter. Back from the break and DX makes their way to the ring at 11:01. John Cena's music hits next and out comes the WWE Champion. Cena rushes the ring to a nice pop. The lights go out and druids come out holding torches. The crowd starts chanting for Undertaker. The bell tolls, the crowd pops and The World Heavyweight Champion begins his entrance. Taker enters the ring and stares down DX as we get ready to start the match.
The bell rings and Cena starts out with Jericho. Cena shoves Jericho to the mat and he tags in Big Show. Triple H comes in the ring to talk smack to Show. Cena tags in Undertaker. Triple H and Taker come face to face in the ring. They both turn and attack Big Show with right hands. Taker clotheslines Show over the rope to the floor. Taker rocks Triple H in the corner with right hands and drops him. Triple H catches Taker with a big spinebuster and tags in HBK. Taker sits up like he always does.
Taker swings but HBK ducks and hits him with chops. Taker tries to toss HBK over the ropes but he hangs on. Taker turns around to a spear from Big Show. Show tags in Jericho after laying out HBK. Jericho comes in and bulldogs HBK. He goes for the Lionsault but HBK counters. Jericho locks on the Walls of Jericho but Taker grabs him by the throat. Cena tags Taker out and bulldogs Jericho. Cena turns around to a big shot from HBK. Triple H comes in and goes at it with Jericho. Cena drops Jericho with a side slam and comes face to face with Triple H. Triple H crotch chops Cena and they trade blows. Show comes in and chokeslams them both. Taker comes in and rocks Show with rights before hitting the flying clothesline. Taker dumps Show back to the floor and goes out after him.
Show reverses a throw and tosses Taker into the fan barrier. In the ring, Cena gets a 2 count. Triple H tags in HBK. HBK goes at it with Jericho and hits a flying forearm and atomic drop. HBK with a scoop slam before going to the top rope and nailing the elbow drop. HBK gets ready for Sweet Chin Music but Cena ducks it and knocks HBK down with forearms and the big slam. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjuster but Triple H had tagged himself in. Triple H with the high knee and knee to the face on Cena. Triple H takes Jericho down and nails the spinebuster on Cena. Triple H goes for the Pedigree but Show comes in with a headbutt. Show turns around to Sweet Chin Music from HBK. Jericho hits the Codebreaker on HBK. Jericho turns around to a big chokeslam from Undertaker. Triple H gets up and clotheslines Taker to the floor. Cena nails the Attitude Adjuster on Triple H for the pinfall and the win.
Winners: John Cena and The Undertaker
- After the match, Cena starts celebrating when The Undertaker comes in and lays him out with the Tombstone. Taker poses in the ring with his belt as his music plays and RAW goes off the air.

TNA Turning Point Opener:
We get a video package highlighting the changes that have happened recently, namely AJ Styles becoming champion and Hulk Hogan joining the company. We get some hype for Daniels/Joe/Styles II, Angle/Wolfe, and Team 3D/Homicide and Matt Morgan.
Mike Tenay and Taz welcome us to the show and immediately begin hyping Wolfe/Angle and the main event of the night. The X-Division looks to kick us off tonight.
X Division Championship Match The Amazing Red (c) vs. Homicide
The crowd gets behind Red at the start of the match, and Red scored a quick kick to Homicide's midsection, but quickly falls to a shoulder block. Red hits an arm drag and a quick dropkick and Homicide bails to the floor, where he's caught with a hurricarana from the apron from Red. Red rolls Homidice back into the ring and hits a quick cross bode for a two count.
Red hits a monkey flip but Homicide lands on his feet. Red hits a hurricarana, but Homicide recovers quickly and hits a nasty lariat. Homicide bits at Red's face, but Red fights out of a belly to back suplex and hits a couple of kicks before a sliding clothesline. Red falls victim to a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Homicide that's good for a two count. Homicide ties Red up in the ropes but he breaks before the five count.
Homicide hits a spinning back elbow and uses his boot to choke Red, again taking advantage of the five count. Homicide hits a neckbreaker and goes for the pin but Red kicks out again. Red starts to fight back with a couple of right hands but Homicide puts him right down with a big right of his own. Homicide locks in a modified bow and arrow, but Red doesn't look like he's quitting.
Homicide breaks the hold and goes to bite at Red's ear. Homicide pounds on Red in the corner before putting him on the top turnbuckle. Homicide grabs Red around the throat before climbing to the top. Red fights out and sends Homicide to the mat and he jumps off with an arm drag. Red hits a dropkick in the corner before connecting with an explosive DDT, but it's still only good for two.
Red comes off the second rope with a nasty move tageting the head, but again it's only good for two. Red goes for a couple of kicks but Homicide counters with a dragon screw and follows it up with a Bronx driver that's only good for two. Homicide goes for the gringo killer but Red sneaks out. Homicide catapults him into the corner and goes for an ace crusher, but Red fights out and hits a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Red goes up top and hits a standing moonsault, but Homicide catches him with a cutter on the way down, Homicide goes for the cover but Red kicks out.
Homicide puts Red on the top turnbuckle and goes for a top rope hurricarana, but Red holds on, and connects with the Code Red. Red pins Homicide for the three count.
Winner and STILL TNA X-Division Champion: Amazing Red
Tenay and Taz discuss the implications for tonight's match between Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle. Taz says he thinks Wolfe has been playing mind games with Angle, and you don't see that much. Tenay shifts the topic to the Triple Threat Main Event, and the events surrounding the past few weeks.
TNA Knockouts Tag Match All Titles on the Line The Beautiful People vs. Sarita & Taylor Wilde (c) & ODB (c)
Wilde and Sky start things off but it's not long before the faces are using quick tags to work over Sky, but Sky is able to make the tag to Rayne. Rayne quickly falls victim to a shoulder block from ODB, and Sarita tags in. Sarita tries for a couple of quick near falls before hitting an arm drag and taker Rayne down with a back elbow. The Tag champs use some teamwork with a back suplex on top of Rayne. Wilde uses a step up arm drag, but Von Erich is in with a clothesline that takes down Wilde.
TBP use a double team Russian leg sweep to take down Wilde before Sky hits a snap mare and a quick running knee. Sky sends Wilde into the corner where she tags in Lacy, who gets a ton of 'you can't wrestle' chants and immediately tags out to Sky. Velvet Sky's bare ass is completely exposed here. iMPACT Rating, Frankie "Suicide" Kazarian's TNA Status
Posted on 11.15.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
-- TNA iMPACT! did a 1.1 cable rating on Thursday night.
-- As reported earlier, Frankie Kazarian asked for his release from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling at the last set of iMPACT! tapings in Orlando. The former X Division champion is reportedly unhappy playing the character known as Suicide and many say he's been complaining a lot in the locker room as of late about the way he's being used. Management initially accepted his request for his release from the company, but AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels talked him out of leaving, so no paperwork was drawn up.
Many felt Kazarian was making a big mistake by asking for his release since he's already burned a bridge with World Wrestling Entertainment by refusing to cut his hair when he was under contract to them in 2005.

J.R. On His Future As A WWE Announcer, His Health, & More

Jim Ross posted a new blog entry at JrsBarBQ.com, here are the highlights…
On His Health: Got positive results Friday on my latest CAT SCAN this time for a lung issue. Now waiting on blood test results which I hope to have next week. I was told that the nerve in my face will regenerate likely one inch per moth so that looks like it might be 3-4 months until I'm facially ready for TV....or not....it could be next week if Mother Nature decides to give this Okie a break.
On WWE In Europe: WWE's huge European tour is gong amazingly well with lots of dollars being generated before some big crowds. London grossed over $1M which is big time for a live event. WWE is re-establishing its brand in Germany with some successful events there. Leipzig did $500K in ticket sales with about 7,000 fans in attendance while Hamburg had over 12,000 fans on hand buying over $900K in tickets!
On His Status As An Announcer: I read where Sean Mooney interviewing with WWE to return "spelled JR's doom" which is laughable. No offense to Sean Mooney who seems to be a nice guy and is friends with Todd Grisham but Mooney nor any one else that interviews for a job will be the difference maker in when I return or what I do when I do return. This is a classic example of a handful of wrestling fans with WAY too much free time on their hands. I wonder if their last names are all "Stone" as in Oliver or they're just simply "stoned?"
On Appearing On The Food Network: I really enjoyed the Food Network presentation of Dinner Impossible Wednesday night. Chef Robert Irvine is a cool dude and many on his crew and staff are HUGE wrestling fans. Miz stole the show as I mentioned here several weeks ago. Santino was great, too. I had to leave early, I had been there 6 hours BTW after reporting for work at 6 a.m., to go back to the hotel and then head to the Staples Center to prep for Summerslam. That was an 18 hour day for yours truly but a fun day to say the least. I would love to do more projects with the Food Network in the future. Hosting BBQ Cook Off's would be a blast or any BBQ oriented shows.

Big Show Speaks On Retirement & Hogan, WWE vs. Twitter
Posted on 11.13.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- WWE is still telling their wrestlers to stop using Twitter.com so much. The message WWE is sending their roster is that if anyone says anything on Twitter that leads to bad press for the company, they're going to have hell to pay.
-- The UK’s Daily Star newspaper interviewed The Big Show and one of the questions asked was what he thought of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair returning to the ring in Australia:
“I just think it was a situation where two guys who love the industry wanted to go again. I don’t think Hulk has ever been to Australia and he wanted to go there. That’s the thing, no matter how long you do this for, or how old you are, you still have a love and a passion for the business. I wish them all the best.”
He had the following to say when asked if he was any nearer retirement:
“I get sore and a little lame and I have a bad attitude generally – but I still love coming to work. I’m the kind of guy who can’t sit still for longer than two or three days in a row anyway! If there comes a time where I can’t go out and entertain the fans then I’ll call it a day but that’s not here yet. I’m enjoying the moment.”

Joe Speaks On TNA Changes, TNA & Nash Returning To NY/CT
Posted on 11.13.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
-- Alex Marvez recently conducted an interview with Samoa Joe, which you can read at http://www.scrippsnews.com. Joe commented on the recent changes in TNA, saying: "Anybody who knows me knows I'm not worried at all. You can look at this as a challenge as far as my spot in the company. Call it arrogance or whatever, but I'm confident enough in my ability. I'm the only person who could stop me from being successful in this business. No matter who comes in, I'm going to do what I do to entertain and push forward."
-- TNA is set to return to the New York & Connecticut area in January, with the following shows:
* 1/8 - Westbury, Long Island @ Westbury Music Fair * 1/9 - Poughkeepsie, NY @ Mid-Hudson Civic Center * 1/10 - Danbury, CT @ O'Neil Center
Kevin Nash is scheduled to work those house shows. Having to work some house shows is part of his recent suspension.
AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Beer Money Inc., Desmond Wolfe, The Beautiful People, Amazing Red, D'Angelo Dinero, Daniels, Eric Young, Taylor Wilde & Sarita, Rhino, and Homicide are all scheduled to work those shows as well.

J.R. On Ultimate Warrior Rumors, His Status, Hogan, Kurt, Piper
Posted on 11.12.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some of the highlights:
His WWE Status: For the record, I don't have a burning desire right now, while addressing my present health issues, to get back on weekly TV whatsoever. I am much more focused on the medical tests that I will undergo tomorrow which are the results of previous tests done a week or so ago. Yes sir, I'm ready for this little journey to end and to be 100% ready to rock....and that will happen.
Roddy Piper Hosting Raw: Rowdy Roddy Piper will no doubt be at the top of his game Monday night in Madison Square Garden when he hosts Monday Night Raw. I know that Hot Rod considers "The Garden" hallowed ground, as most of us veterans do, and who knows how many more times the WWE Hall of Famer will be in such a key role in this arena? I expect all sort of Survivor Series oriented fireworks in NYC Monday evening.
Ultimate Warrior in the WWE Hall of Fame?: The WWE Hall of Fame class for 2010 seems to be garnering more interest as our email flow gets stronger. Lots of speculation that the "Ultimate Warrior" will be inducted this year. I have no clue but the fact that "Warrior" lives in Phoenix, the site of WM26, being a significant reason as to why makes zero sense to me. Either the man deserves to be introduced or he doesn't no matter his zip code. I personally feel the former Blade Runner is deserving and just because the guy is considered "controversial" should not exclude him from any accolade. Warrior's accomplishments and contributions to the business are what counts and hearing Warrior's acceptance speech live and in person would be classic and likely a "Wrestlemania Moment."
On Jericho vs. Taker: I'm told that the Undertaker-Jericho main event on Friday Night Smackdown, starring Todd Grisham and Matt Striker, is a dandy. Can't wait to catch it on TV Friday night or over the weekend on DVR.
On The Hulk Hogan DVD: The WWE Hulk Hogan DVD has some great, old bouts on it including some taped matches from live events that really put in some time. I love the atmosphere of the darkened arena and the focus being on the ring and the performers in the ring and not on fans looking to get their 15 minutes or seconds of fame especially those that would rather watch the 'tron instead of the ring. I know, I'm old school......so what? If you like old school wrestling and seeing some of the business' biggest names from back in the day I think that you will enjoy this DVD. It isn't a "tell all" type DVD but is heavy on classic wrestling bouts from a variety of arenas and TV shoots. Old schoolers might really get a kick out of JR and The King reuniting for some of these bouts that we narrate as opposed to doing "live commentary." King even reveals how Hulk invented a back shaving device that Jerry began utilizing himself. Seeing Hulk with the late, WWE HOF'er Classy Freddie Blassie was a hoot. I never realized Hogan was as hairy as George "The Animal Steele at one point in Hulk's career.
On Kurt Angle's Legal Issues: I'm happy to see that former WWE Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle's legal sagas have ended at least for the time being. I hate to read about anyone that I know having personal issues that are embellished and broadcast throughout the media. I've said it many times, "wrestling romances" rarely work over the long haul and those that do are simply meant to be and are the exception to the rule. Those involved in the one's that l do last are blessed individuals who are able to avoid the egocentric and paranoid fueled pitfalls that plague other couples who are usually in lust and not in love. I hope that Kurt can happily move on in his life in a healthy way.

-- Site reader Wrest Ill sent this in: There're major articles in the top Israeli newspapers today about what WWE have in common with Sal Bonpensiero and B. Arthur. Israeli fans were promised by WWE reps in Israel that WWE would come to tour Israel if the fans help keep WWE on Israeli television. The fans kept their end of the bargain - WWE didn't! WWE's excuse is the "Travel Warning" issued by the Department of State (even though they ignored that same warning upon trips to Iraq and Afganistan) and that resulted in Israeli fans launching the "WWE FEAR ISRAEL" campaign, emphasizing the fact that 407,000 americans (including artists seen in the poster) came to visit Israel, especially Tel-Aviv(where the tour was scheduled to be held) during the last year. Israeli wrestling fans are calling to boycott WWE in Israel until they come here ; fans will oppose the renewal of WWE programming in Israel and will call to boycott all WWE products in the country.

» Last night's edition of ECW on SyFy scored a 1.0 rating.
» Carlito is off WWE TV at the moment as creative has nothing for him. While this tends to be the last straw with some talent before they are released, Carlito has a history of being used, not used and then brought back suddenly again. One WWE source seemed to indicate that Carlito didn't really seem to care all that much and that creative was more interested in spending time with wrestlers who are actually contributing ideas.

Ric Flair Getting Married Today For The Fourth Time
Posted on 11.11.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is getting ready to walk the aisle once again. The recently-unretired legend is getting married once again this afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina. It will be Flair's fourth time getting married.
Flair and his fiance Jackie held a big party last night in Charlotte to celebrate the occasion. Flair will be bringing his new bride to Australia with him later this month for the "Hulkamania: Let the Battle Begin" tour, where he'll wrestle against Hulk Hogan in his first matches since retiring at WrestleMania 24.
Given Flair's public financial woes and his hefty monthly alimony payments to three ex-wives, it's interesting to see him giving the married life another shot.

TNA Releases Knockout, Champion Nearly Jumps Ship

-- Reigning TNA Women's Knockout Champion ODB recently inked a multi-year deal with TNA. Her contract renewal with the organization actually came as a surprise to friends as she had been discussing jumping to World Wrestling Entertainment when her previous contract expired in mid-November. She had been telling people the past two months that she didn't think management even realized her contract was coming due because no one had mentioned it to her.
-- It was reported last week that Sojournor Bolt's future with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling appeared to be in doubt. According to sources, she was released by the organization this past week as they opted against renewing her contract.
Further confirming her departure from the organization, her photo gallery was removed from the company website's Knockouts section last night. However, her profile remains on the roster page. The reason for this is because the company may opt to continue using Sojo on a pay-per-appearance basis, so there is a good chance we haven't the last of her in the six-sided ring.
The veteran women's wrestler had been sparingly used since Dutch Mantel's departure from TNA this past summer and the feeling was her days in the company were numbered.

Stacy Keibler Contacts WWE About Hosting RAW, TNA, More
Posted on 11.11.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Stacy Keibler recently spoke to Kevin Eck of BaltimoreSun.com and was asked whether she'd be the special guest host of WWE Raw when the show comes to her hometown of Baltimore, MD on 11/30. (Stacy Keibler pictures)
The former WWE Diva said she reached out to WWE about hosting, but never heard back. "No one has contacted me. I actually had my management contact them, and nobody ever got back to us [laughs]. So I guess they're not interested," she said.
Keibler recently won a contest to determine Baltimore, Maryland's biggest celebrity - beating out baseball great Cal Ripken, Jr. and Olympic hero Michael Phelps.
Keibler was also asked about whether she's heard anything from TNA Wrestling about working for them. "[TNA] hasn't [contacted me], but Mick and I talk regularly," she said. "They haven’t contacted me to do anything, plus I still have my deal with ABC, so I wouldn’t be able to do anything like that."

Hogan's First iMPACT Appearance?, WWE's Reaction, More
Posted on 11.11.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |

-- There’s no definitive word on when Hogan will show up in-person on TNA television. There is talk that TNA will film something in a private studio to keep the details of his first appearance on iMPACT from leaking to the internet. For what it’s worth, there’s speculation that he may not make his first real appearance for the company until January.
-- The decision to hold the Hogan press conference at Madison Square Garden was meant by the Hogan camp as a shot at Vince McMahon, due to the McMahon family’s long history with the building. A source claims Hogan did not inform MSG management that he would announce anything related to TNA, and simple told them there would be a press conference with television cameras.
There are mixed reports of Vince’s reaction to Hogan’s signing. Some witnesses say Vince was in a lousy mood at the Smackdown tapings following the news, while others say Vince was still the same old Vince with his “poker face on.” One source says that there was initially some curiosity within WWE regarding the signing, but that went away when TNA iMPACT drew a 1.3 rating with Hogan’s segment being the lowest-rated.

What Happened To Festus?, Tyler Reks, WWE On Food Network
Posted on 11.10.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- Drew Hankinson (a.k.a. Festus) is still under contract to World Wrestling Entertainment, but sitting at home because creative has nothing for him. He has not appeared on television since June. There had been discussions of pairing him with CM Punk on SmackDown as a bodyguard, with the storyline being that he behaves the way he does because he's always heavily medicated. It would have then been revealed that Punk got him off drugs and made him Straight edge. Another idea pitched was that Punk was using drugs to control him instead.
-- Tyler Reks will not be appearing on tonight's episode of ECW — or this week's edition of WWE Superstars for that matter — because he was not brought on the company's trip overseas. On his Twitter account he said he's visiting Florida Championship Wrestling headquarters today.
-- Tonight on 10:00 PM ET/PT, there will be a special WWE-themed episode of the cooking show Dinner Impossible on the Food Network. Here's a preview from the Food Network website: "WWE: A Mission on the Mat Robert is taken to the mat as he joins up with some of World Wrestling Entertainment Superstars at Summer Slam, WWE's biggest summertime event. Stephanie McMahon gives Robert his mission to feed 300 WWE VIPs a "Superstar" meal in just nine hours, this means every dish he creates must be based on some of WWE's Superstars' signature moves such as Frog Splash, Clawhold, and Knife Edge Chop. Stephanie is center ring joined by her seven foot tall, 400 pound "enforcer", Big Show, who's there to make sure Robert knows that failure is not an option!" (Thanks to Mackenzie)

Hulk Hogan Teases Steve Austin & Randy Savage To TNA
Posted on 11.09.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Hulk Hogan made one of his regular appearances on the Bubba The Love Sponge radio show this morning. During the call, he mentioned Steve Austin and Randy Savage as wrestlers who could possibly be joining him in TNA. He also mentioned The Nasty Boys as possible additions.
He joked that he wanted to know how serious Bubba is about having a role on the TNA creative team with him.
ProWrestling.net reports that there is still no reason to believe that Hogan is going to be booking the whole show at TNA, but rather will just have creative control over his own character. Sources feel that Austin going to TNA is a pipe dream, and there's no way of knowing whether Savage has any interest in working again or not since he doesn't keep in touch with many people in wrestling. As of last word, Savage was living in Sarasota, Florida taking care of his father.

Jeff Hardy Update: Not Talking To Anybody, Living In Seclusion
Posted on 11.09.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Gilbert Hardy, father of Matt and Jeff, spoke to the Fayetteville Observer newspaper last week and said Jeff has been keeping a very low profile in the weeks and months since his September 11th drug arrest. "He won't talk. He ain't talking to nobody," the senior Hardy said. "He doesn't even want to talk to me."
The newspaper tried getting a quote from Jeff, but he refused to speak to them.
Hardy was due in court last week for a probable cause hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to warrant indicting the former WWE champion on the various drug charges (including six felonies) he's facing. The hearing was rescheduled for December 2nd.
If convicted of the opium trafficking charge alone, Hardy faces nearly six years in prison, at a minimum, said Warren McSweeney, a Moore County prosecutor. "It could be substantially more," he added.
In his latest blog over at JRsBarBQ.com, Jim Ross commented on the news of Hardy keeping quiet by saying, "Smart move by Jeff Hardy keeping mum and not talking to any of the media. Jeff must have a helluva lawyer."

A number of wrestlers have been creatively frustrated in recent weeks and it is believed that this was her way of showing who's in control.
More than one source in the company says that the wrestlers were rolling their eyes at the speech and wondering why Dixie would want that to air on TV.

Backstage: Russo's TNA Future & Possible Replacement, Hogan
Posted on 11.07.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Regarding Vince Russo’s future in TNA, everyone close to the situation is saying that nothing has been decided yet by the company. Russo is under the impression that nothing has changed regarding his status since he feels he’s been doing his job, but there are a number of people who feel his position is in jeopardy. Those same people also feel the Hogan and Bischoff team will establish their own infrastructure and put their own creative people in place, and the duo will be in TNA for the long haul.
If Russo goes, the assumption is that Ed Ferarra will also be out of a job. The only remaining member of the current creative staff would be Matt Conway, who is the youngest member of the staff and is someone Dixie Carter sees as a bright young mind.
Kevin Sullivan has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Vince Russo, as well as Kevin Nash although Nash says he has no interest in the role. Nash is currently working to solidify his acting career for once he finishes wrestling.
Rumors that Hogan and Bischoff negotiated directly with Dixie’s father, Bob Carter, who owns TNA’s parent company Panda Energy, are false. Multiple sources closes to the situation say Dixie was in charge of negotiations, which lasted approximately five months.

He also said that his contract says nothing about wrestling, and that he will be running the show. Man Jericho Used Slurs Against Calls Him An "A**hole", GLAAD
Posted on 11.06.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
-- The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is effectively rejecting what they call Chris Jericho's "insincere and worn" apology for using anti-gay and racist slurs at a recent film festival. GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios issued the following statement to TMZ.com this afternoon: "Just three months ago Chris Jericho's boss and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon acknowledged to GLAAD that words matter. There is no time, context or occasion in which it is acceptable to utter racist and anti-gay slurs. Jericho's hollow apology 'if (he) offended anyone' is a template used by many and is insincere and worn."
-- The man who Chris Jericho used racial and homophobic slurs against at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival told TMZ that Jericho was an "asshole" and that Jericho's apology was "crap."
Mr. Lobo, the host of the film festival, said he was deeply offended by the insensitive remarks, saying that Jericho's claim that "everyone on stage was having a blast" was false.
"I don't think [Chris] has the capacity to give an honest apology," he said. "I don't think it's in his character."

J.R. On The PPV Business, Swagger, Jeff Hardy’s Legal Issues
Posted on 11.06.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry at JrsBarBQ.com, here are the highlights…
On The PPV Business: PPV business....it is and always has been attraction driven. It also is affected by the disposable income folks have for an expendable entity. For example, we don't HAVE to watch every PPV on TV but we HAVE to have housing and food. PPV's coming at us fans with such frequency is challenging to process, prioritize and to afford. However, with the PPV business being such a vital part of any wrestling organization's bottom line, I would be surprised to see the number of PPV's decrease. So, it will come back to providing the consumer with what they are willing to and can purchase which will always be attraction driven fueled by button pushing creative which is no exact science.
On Jeff Hardy's Legal Issues: I see the continuance of the Jeff Hardy legal issue as positive news for Jeff. I'm not an attorney nor do I play one on TV but one can make an argument that if the authorities thought that they had an overwhelmingly strong case that they would not be interested in postponing the proceedings. I strongly feel that Jeff Hardy is NOT a drug trafficker whatsoever and that he will be vindicated. I am also not unbiased in this matter as I am a Jeff Hardy fan and have been since signing Matt and Jeff to their first WWE contracts.
On Edge's Recovery: I think Edge being 100% by Wrestlemania 26 is going to be a photo finish and I hope that I am wrong on that assumption. Edge had taken his game to another level prior to his injury and he will no doubt return to the ring fresher and ready to turn more heads if he makes sure that he is totally healthy. Torn Achilles obviously cannot be taken lightly. Edge would arguably need to be close to ready by January to really be able to capitalize on the promotional, TV build up for Phoenix or at least that's one school of thought.
On Jack Swagger: Interesting to read where Jack Swagger wrestled John Cena this week in Dublin. Swagger vs. Cena is new and fresh and it also is a good for the young Okie to hunt with the big dogs. I applaud the pairing of these two former college athletes.

Regarding discussion of Shane McMahon parting ways with World Wrestling Entertainment, his looming departure from the company has become the new "Randy Savage talk" backstage. By that, it means it's a touchy subject to be broached with Vince McMahon at one's own peril.
The WWE chairman is none to pleased with his son's recent resignation. Vince formally addressed Shane's departure from the company during this morning's conference call with investors. He said of Shane's decision to leave: "Shane has decided to pursue other opportunities in the marketplace." He also added that the strength of the company's management team is based on performance, not if an employee's last name is McMahon. "Some people perceive this to be a family business, but I do not," said Vince.

RVD Speaks On Possibly Joining TNA, Hulk Hogan, & More
Posted on 11.05.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Former WWE and ECW champion Rob Van Dam says he's considering joining TNA after Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff signed up with TNA to help build the company's visibility. RVD isn't sure Hogan should be booking storylines or making matches, however.
"It's more appealing because they raised the stakes," RVD told the Monday Night Mayhem radio show this week. "Hulk Hogan brings credibility & name recognition. A lot of people that don't watch wrestling and many who haven't watched wrestling in five or ten years, they all know who Hulk Hogan is. He is a great representative of what wrestling can be. Should he have the book? I don't know. Just because you have one talent in the business, doesn't mean you have something else."
RVD said in recent interviews that he has an "open door policy" with WWE to make infrequent appearances for the company, including the Royal Rumble earlier this year. RVD does not want to be on WWE's full-time schedule, which seems to open the door for TNA with their part-time schedule.
In the interview with the Mayhem radio show, RVD took an outsider's perspective on evaluating Hogan and Bischoff's alignment with TNA. He also played coy on whether he's ready to make the jump to TNA despite having conversations with TNA president Dixie Carter.
"With Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff now in TNA, it's a very interesting time in the wrestling business...and in a very positive way," RVD said. "I was at Bound For Glory saying hi to some friends. And part of that was 'Oh, hi Dixie, nice to meet you.' We have talked on the phone...Same thing with Vince Russo. Now that Hogan & Bischoff are there, it's definitely putting a lot of energy on TNA, a lot of focus and eyes. Now if they can follow up with that, they could really, really grow."
RVD said later in the interview that if he returns to wrestling, he wants to be part of something hip and happening, like in ECW's boom period under Paul Heyman that he was part of. RVD said he's tired of watching the same wrestling style on TV.
"Can we get the wrestling business fun with Hulk Hogan in TNA? I don't know but here's one thing, part of why it's not interesting to watch anymore is because it's so routine and mundane," he said. "Every match, we have to see the babyface cry and sell, and the heel do his stuff, and the babyface make his big comeback. Every match? I don't enjoy that."

Vince McMahon's Reaction To TNA Rating, HOF *SPOILERS*

-- At a WWE creative meeting this past week, TNA ratings were brought up for the first time in a while. Apparently Michael Hayes brought up the low quarter-hour of last week’s iMPACT with the Hulk Hogan announcement. Sources there say Vince’s response was simply, “Ouch.” As previously noted, footage of the Hulk Hogan press conference on iMPACT last week was the show's lowest-rated segment.
-- For what it’s worth, names that have been discussed the most lately for the 2010 WWE Hall of Fame are Ted DiBiase, the Road Warriors, Demolition and Slick. There are a lot of rumors about Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger and The Honky Tonk Man being inducted also. Ron Simmons is also said to be a possibility. Out of all these names, Ted DiBiase is considered the strongest possibility.

Jericho Apologizes For Homophobic & Racist Remarks (Video)
Posted on 11.05.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
Chris Jericho is apologizing for some recent comments he made at a film festival that many would consider to be racist and homophobic.
Jericho took part in a "Q&A" session at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival a few weeks ago following the screening of his movie, Albino Farm. Jericho referred to the session moderator as "Hadji", a racial slur used against Middle Easterners. After the host jokingly checked Jericho's drink for alcohol, the WWE Superstar used a gay slur towards him.
Jericho has since apologized and told TMZ.com, "After seeing the video I realize some inappropriate comments were made and I apologize if I offended anybody. Just know that everyone on stage was having a blast and we all shared a drink and a laugh after! The good news is I got my wish of being posted on TMZ."

The news of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff is being greeted with a “wait and see” attitude from within TNA. The expectations from those within the industry is ranging from a short-term deal all the way to an ownership stake of TNA.
At one point Hogan and Bischoff were seeking a stake in ownership during a previous negotiating stint with the company, however TNA turned that idea down.
There is a wide range of emotions amongst the wrestlers in the company about the news. More than one wrestler has expressed fear that TNA would become all about Hogan and friends, such as Brutus Beefcake and The Nasty Boys. However, others have expressed optimism that the duo of Hogan and Bischoff could open new doors in the business world for the company. Some wrestlers were excited by the possibility of working with Hogan in the ring, even if it means putting him over.
The biggest fear with most of the wrestlers in TNA is that the company will become like WCW, in that older wrestlers receive almost all of the spotlight. It’s been described as a “roller coaster” for the TNA roster by one source, since it felt like they were finally getting their chance to shine when Vince Russo was put in charge of creative and he made it clear he was going through with his youth movement. So far movement is being labeled a success within the company, as Russo has pushed the three names Dixie Carter gave him (AJ Styles, Matt Morgan and Hernandez) to create into new marquee names.

Pay-Per-View revenues were $14.5 million as compared to $16.4 million in the prior year quarter reflecting a 10% decline in total pay-per-view buys and a higher percentage of international buys, which are generally lower in price. For the comparable pay-per-view events which occurred in both the current and prior year periods, pay-per-view buys declined 22% in the quarter and 9% on a year-to-date basis.
Summerslam did 369,000 PPV buys, down from 477,000 in 2008. Breaking Point, replacing Unforgiven, did 169,000 buys, down from Unforgiven's 211,000 in 2008. Night of Champions did 267,000 buys.
WWE.com revenues were $4.5 million as compared to $4.0 million in the prior year quarter, reflecting increased sales of online advertising and expanded licensing of our website for international markets.
WWEShop revenues were $2.9 million as compared to $3.9 million in the prior year quarter. The number of orders declined by 21% to approximately 55,000 and the average revenue per order decreased by approximately 8% to $50.46 from the prior year quarter.
Television Rights Fees revenues were $28.3 million as compared to $24.4 million in the prior year quarter. This increase was primarily due to fees received from our new WWE Superstars television show and contractual increases from our existing programs.
Revenues from the Live and Televised Entertainment businesses were $77.9 million for the current quarter as compared to $68.7 million in the prior year quarter, representing a 13% increase.
Live Event revenues were $27.2 million as compared to $20.3 million in the prior year quarter. Revenues increased 34% primarily due to higher average attendance and an increase in the number of international events.
North American events generated $16.6 million of revenues from 77 events as compared to $15.5 million from 77 events in the prior year quarter. North American average attendance increased 9% to approximately 5,800 from 5,300 in the prior year quarter. The quarter-over-quarter increase reflected five additional events in the current quarter and a 38% increase in average attendance to approximately 9,100 fans. These factors were partially offset by a 19% reduction in average ticket prices to $65.59, in part due to changes in foreign exchange rates.
WWE Studios recorded revenue of $3.0 million related to four previously released films, including Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia as compared to $5.6 million in the prior year quarter related to See No Evil, The Marine, and The Condemned. In the prior year quarter, WWE recorded a $1.9 million charge related to revised expectations for our film See No Evil. During the first quarter of 2009, we released our fourth feature film, 12 Rounds, as well as a Direct-to-DVD film, Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia. 12 Rounds generated approximately $12.2 million in gross domestic box office receipts and was released on DVD on June 30, 2009.
Home Video net revenues were $11.2 million as compared to $11.0 million in the prior year quarter. The increase reflects the performance of our new releases and catalog titles.
Licensing revenues were $7.9 million as compared to $10.6 million in the prior year quarter. The decrease primarily reflects the reduction in royalties earned on the sales of toys and videogames, particularly in international markets.
Magazine publishing net revenues were $3.4 million as compared to $4.7 million in the prior year quarter. The decrease primarily reflects a reduction in subscription revenue and the publication of one fewer issue of WWE Magazine in the current quarter. WWE released the following press release today…

For those wondering if this is a result of Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff's affiliation and a sign that more early 90's wrestlers are headed to TNA, we're told this isn't the case as Neidhart was booked for tonight's show before the Hogan and Bischoff deal was signed.
The show that is taped tonight will air next Thursday, 11/12.

That's some list. What's WWE's main focus in the near future?
We are poised to take off like never before: becoming a truly global brand is the focus right now. Our television programmes are already in over 150 countries and translated into, I think, 30 languages. We have over 15 million viewers and over 15 million page-views per month on wwe.com.
For WWE to grow into a "truly global brand", I assume the company will have to stage more live arena events and television tapings outside the United States and Canada. But how about pay-per-views: do you envisage WWE promoting any from overseas markets?
There will definitely be more live events. The problem with pay-per-view overseas is finding the right times and dates to accommodate the time difference. It also helps if we have big stars from those areas of the world: that helps us make inroads into their countries; a lower-level wrestler does not make much difference. Look at The Great Khali, for example: he's revered in India because he's been the (WWE World) champion.
Does WWE need more headline stars in general to facilitate this expansion?
We have to be cognisant of not spreading ourselves too thin. It can be borderline. We're constantly building new stars, and now we have a five-star training facility in Tampa that should help with that. Steve Keirn is heading that up, and we have Dusty Rhodes helping with character development and mike skills.
I understand that you work long hours in the office and have to go on the road each week for WWE television tapings. Is it difficult to balance this work and travel schedule with being a parent to two young children? That you work for the family business alongside your husband Triple H helps, I imagine.
I take my kids with me on the road, as they are the most important things in my life: I don't like to be away from my kids, and that's part of the reason why you don't see me on-screen as much as before . . . You know, I was always forbidden to marry someone in the business by my dad. But, yes, it's helpful, given we both understand the rigours of our lifestyle.
Do you find it hard to leave your work at work? After all, you are technically your husband's boss.
We actually don't (argue) much at all, except in the business. Sometimes, you can take your work home with you and sometimes you don't. But we always work things out.
What about the schedule for the talent: are they working too many, too few or just the right number of live events?
I think we worked it out . . . I don't have the figures in front of me, but the average days worked per year was actually a lot lower than you'd expect. We always try to keep the balance right, and I know that's something John Laurinaitis is always thinking about. The brand extension means it's worse than it was, but it also means there are more opportunities available for the guys who want to work.
You've taken a lot of flak over the years for the role you play on the WWE writing team. Does it bother you?
It used to . . . But I decided that people are going to think whatever they want to think. I try to do the best I can do. I don't read the dirt sheets at all anymore: they used to really bother me. But the numbers — live event attendances, TV ratings — they tell me what I'm doing right and wrong. We're lucky in that way: we have a focus group in every town we go to every night, so if something's not working, we find out quickly and we can change it. We could be heading in the wrong direction and then completely change it.
Would you care to predict who WWE's next big stars will be?
You know, my dad always says he won't answer that question because he doesn't want to get into trouble, so I think I should say the same. I know who I've got my eyes on, though . . . There's a lot.
Your older brother Shane is WWE's Executive Vice President, Global Media. As driven people in positions of authority in the same company, is there any sibling rivalry between you?
Our roles don't exactly cross over that much. But I can't deny that we are, and always have been, competitive. Even now, as grown adults, after meetings we still play 'touched you last' - you know, like tag. We'll come out all serious, and then he'll tag me and shout, 'touched you last!' and then run away. (Shane's) the head of the International operation, so our paths cross when we do international live events - but we tend to work well together. I think our type of competition is a good kind: it drives us both on and makes the business better. But I cannot foresee a day when my dad (Vince McMahon) hands over the reins to either of us. He's still very much in charge -- and, trust me, everyone knows it.

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”
-Live from the DCU Center in Worcester, MA
-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler
-Sharon and Ozzy kick off the show in the ring with Ozzy sitting in a throne in the ring. Sharon says this isn't the first time Ozzy has been in a WWE ring, and we see clips of Ozzy at Wrestlemania 2 and also in a live performance on Smackdown in 2007. Sharon asks him if he remembers, and he says he absolutely does not. Miz interrupts right away, and mocks Sharon asking if its "really" going to be a crazy night. He says he plans on having a good time tonight seeing as he is a bigger star than the entire Osborne family combined. Miz says last week he was robbed in his match with Evan Bourne, and he asks that they strike it from the record. He wants the decision overturned, but Ozzy wants to know who bloody hell he is. He says he's the US Champion, and he's awesome, but he's then interrupted by Rhodes and Dibiase. Rhodes asks if Miz wants to really complain about losing by count out, and says they have a real problem. He says they bought Orton a special gift, but Dibiase corrects him saying he paid for most it. He says it was destroyed by Kofi Kingston, and Rhodes asks for a handicap match with Kofi tonight. Miz tells them to wait their turn as Ozzy and Sharon are going to deal with him first. That brings out Big Show, and he tells them not to listen to these whiners and complainers. He says last week on Raw he was betrayed and assaulted by the entire roster, and he demands an apology. Ozzy says he's so sorry, but Show says he doesn't want an apology from him. He asks the Osborne's to make the Raw roster to come out and apologize, and if not they're going to get a fist. Ozzy screams at him to shut up, and now DX comes out. Triple H apologizes for the interruption, but before this got out of control with the four ratings killer he thought he'd come out and make the save. He says the Osborne's have a lot in common with DX. He shills Ozzy's book, and uses that as a reason to shill their own book as well. Miz says this isn't a chance for a shameless plug, and says this is serious. DX says they're going to take control of things Wizard of Oz or should he say Blizzard of Oz style. Everyone is going to get what they want. HHH whispers in Ozzy's ear, and Ozzy says tonight Miz will face Evan "Braun" for the US Title. HBK tells Legacy he's going to help them out. He whispers in Sharon's ear, and now she books a match between "Kobe" Kingston and Randy Orton. HHH tells "Benedict Fat Guy" that they didn't forget about him, but Show changes his mind and says maybe he should get a triple threat match. He whispers in Ozzy's ear, and Ozzy books a match between John Cena, Chris Jericho, and Big Show. Show complains that's not what he said, but Sharon tells him the decision is final and if he's not down with that she's got two words for them. I'm just hoping a match is booked at some point between Kobe Kingston and Kofi Johnston.
-Josh Mathews catches up with Sheamus who says as far as he is concerned Ozzy Osborne's career should have been over a long time ago, and after tonight when he's through Jamie Noble's career will be.
Sheamus vs. Jamie Noble Here we go. One of the most anticipated rematches since Hogan and Andre faced off in Indianapolis. Its Bourne-Sheamus II. Sheamus attacks early and rams Noble into the buckle before dropping a series of knees on his head sending him to the floor. Sheamus chases him outside and rams him into the ringpost before chucking him back inside. Sheamus delivers a clothesline to the back of the head, and continues the assault with a series of boots to the head. Sheamus drives a pair of elbows to the forehead, and then hits a knee lift. Sheamus delivers a Rock Bottom into a backbreaker, and then hits a running big boot which gets two as Sheamus picks up Jamie at two. Sheamus pounds Jamie down in the corner, and the ref pulls him off an calls for the stoppage at 2:26. Now THAT is how you do a squash. Sheamus continues the assault delivering a big boot sending Noble crashing all the way to the floor, and then delivers a powerbomb on the floor as referees pull him off and Noble does the stretcher job. Appears to be a slight change in direction for Sheamus who now be getting a Sid Vicious circa 1989 type gimmick. Winner: Sheamus (Ref Stoppage ½*)
-Recap of the Kofi-Orton angle from last Monday
-Josh Mathews talks to Kofi Kingston, and asks if he has any regrets. Kofi says Orton lost his title at Bragging Rights, and any chance he has of getting it backs. He says Orton is like a classic bully who wants to blame someone else for his problems. He says he won't be bullied. He says he destroyed all of the car, but he didn't touch the mirror because it's the one thing Randy needs to use the most. He says he left the mirror so Randy could see exactly why is no longer Champion, and follows up with saying he doesn't regret a thing.
Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston Orton walks to the ring like he downed a pair of Five Hour Energy's before the match. By Orton standards that was an Ultimate Warrior like entrance. Orton smacks Kofi, but Kofi answers and that leads right into a brawl. Orton takes control throwing Kofi to the corner, and stomping him to the mat. Orton delivers a right hand, but Kofi ducks a second and delivers a standing dropkick. Kofi clotheslines Orton over the top to the floor and then heads outside after him firing Orton back inside. Legacy comes out to their aid, but Kofi throws Orton outside on top of them. Kofi then hits a suicide dive taking out all three on the floor, and heads back inside. Ozzy shows up on the titantron, and says he knew this was going to happen so this is now a six man tag. He then introduces Kofi's partners…MVP and Mark Henry. New Nation? They head to the ring as we head to break.
Randy Orton & The Legacy vs. Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, & Montel Vontavious Porter Back from break with Dibiase in control of a side headlock on Kofi. Kofi comes free and hiptosses Dibiase and then sends Orton and Rhodes to the floor. Tag to MVP who comes in and he delivers the ballin' elbow as Kofi hits the boom drop. That gets a two count so MVP tags in Mark Henry who is in with a headbutt for Dibiase. Dibiase ducks a clothesline, and then delivers a low dropkick allowing him to tag in Cody. They try to double team, but Henry delivers a double clothesline taking both guys out. Henry whips Cody to the corner, and tags in MVP who charges into a boot from Rhodes. Cody goes for a suplex, but MVP blocks it and goes for one of his own. Rhodes tags in Dibiase who makes the save and hits a Side Russian Legsweep for two. Dibiase puts MVP in the heel corner, and tags in Orton who pounds MVP down in the corner. Tag to Dibiase who delivers an elbow drop, and a boot to the face for two. Cody tags in and drops a knee on the forehead of MVP before locking in half nelson chinlock. MVP comes free, but hits the ropes running into a dropkick from Cody for a two count. Orton tags back in and puts the boots to the lower back of MVP. He picks up MVP to deliver a standing dropkick for two. MVP tries to fight back, but Orton hits a drop toehold. Orton goes for a running kneedrop which connects for a two count. Orton grabs a chinlock, but MVP elbows free. MVP delivers a clothesline, and goes for the hot tag but Orton stops it by knocking Kofi from the apron and tagging in Ted. Dibiase runs into a throw from MVP who finally makes the hot tag to Mark Henry. Henry comes in with a headbutt to Rhodes who is also now legal, and follows with an avalanche. Henry goes for the Worlds Strongest Slam, but Orton makes the save. Orton goes for an RKO, but Kofi is in with a dropkick sending him to the floor. Henry comes back to hit the Worlds Strongest Slam which finishes at 11:47 (including the singles match). This was great booking. Some might complain about the bait and switch, but what they did was make Kofi seem like a very legit threat to Orton without actually having them do much in the ring. Now it's a match you'd pay to see. Well done. Winners: Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, & Montel Vontavious Porter (Henry pins Rhodes-Worlds Strongest Slam **3/4)
-Jerry Lawler is in the ring with Ozzy and Sharon as they host "Raw's Got Talent." Oh lord, this will either be awesome or terrible. There's no real middle ground. Lawler brings out the third judge for the show The Great Khali which means we're already off to a good start for this segment. Khali blabs some jibberish which Lawler translates as having a huge crush on Kelly Osborne. Sharon says she'd love to have him as a son in law. Our first contestant to sing the classic Ozzy tune Bark at the Moon is Santino Marella. Santino comes out dressed as Santino who says he's not going to sing because he's not a dog, but says Ozzy and Harriet is big in Italy. He's going to bite the head off a bat…batman in fact. It's a toy Batman, and Santino does bite it off and gets buzzed off the stage. Chris Masters is out next, and he flexes his pecs to the tune of Crazy Train. Sharon liked it, and Khali found it oddly mesmorizing. Ozzy wants him to get a bra. Next up is Jillian and Chavo for a duet. Jillian is a huge Ozzy fan, and when she heard Chavo was singing she insisted on it being a duet. They sing the Ozzy/Lita Ford song "If I Close my Eyes Forever." They of course butcher it, and Ozzy wants to rename the song "If I Close my Ears Forever." Jillian takes exception to that, and tells Sharon she's always been jealous of Lita Ford. She then sings Brittany on the way to the ring as she's going to tell it to Sharon's face, but she gets a smack from Sharon. Chavo tells Ozzy to control his wife, and Ozzy tells him that he can do that because Ozzy can't. Chavo gets up in Sharon's grill, and Khali stands up for her giving her a brain chop. That leads to the obligatory Hornswoggle run in, and Tadpole splash to Chavo. This time however Swoggle is dressed up as Jack Osborne. Just in case you couldn't tell based on the description this would fall into the "terrible" category.
-British Boxer Ricky Hatton who just woke up from getting knocked out by Manny Pacquio will host Raw next week from England.
Six Diva Number One Contender's Battle Royal Participants-Alicia Fox, Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, and Eve Torres You guessed it…BIG BRAWL TO START. A Bella faces off with Gail while the other one ends up with Eve. Kelly is left to do battle with Alicia. Gail hits a neckbreaker on a Bella as Melina watches on from the back. Gail is first to be dumped by Kelly on accident when she tried to save her from a Bella. Jack Swagger randomly wanders out to get a closer look as Eve eliminates both Bellas. Swagger seems pleased with that, and Eve catches his eye only to get dumped from behind by Alicia. That leaves Kelly and Alicia. Kelly goes for a handspring elbow in the corner, but gets caught in a waistlock by Fox who throws Kelly out to win at 2:43. Battle Royals suck. Divas wrestling sucks. Therefore this match sucked. Winner: Alicia Fox (Last Eliminates Kelly DUD)
-Recap of everything Jamie getting killed, and all of the Osborne shenanigans from tonight.
-Recap of Rey and Batista from Smackdown. BREAKING NEWS…Dave Batista is about a billion times better heel than babyface.
-Chris Jericho stops by to talk to the Osbornes. Jericho says they are making a mockery of Raw just like all the other guest hosts, and says one of the reasons he's the best in the world at what he does is Ozzy. He talks about what a big fan of Ozzy he is, and talks about what a influence he was on him. He then realized that he didn't need to pander to the fans, and now says that he's better than both of them. He leaves but Ozzy then asks Sharon who the hell that was. That might have been a shoot comment.
-DX talks to Hornswoggle, and has him hung up on the wall. HHH says they've discussed this with their legal team, and they understand what this means. They need at least two weeks where he doesn't interfere with their intellectual property. Shawn says if they imitate them again he's in big trouble, but here's Cena to take him down. Cena says you can never hang a leprachan on a hook, and says his Uncle hung a Leprachan on a hook once. Cena says its Hornswoggle's idea that they are all fighting each other, but Shawn questions Swoggle's ability to know or care that he was responsible. HHH says he's not sweating the Triple Threat match because a few weeks ago he beat Cena, and HBK reminds Cena that they're going to England where he beat Cena too. Cena says he's beat both of them too, and they've all took turns beating each other. That leads to an awkward pause, and the Bellas walk away disgusted. Cena says that didn't come out right. Shawn says he took physics without taking algebra. He says DX has a mathematical probability of leaving with the title. Cena says anything can happen in a triple threat match, and they could end up beating up on each other. He says they always say they got two words, but he's got four for them. The Champ is Here! Cena leaves, and Shawn yells that people need to get their own material. He's tired of everyone stealing their stuff. This was hysterical.
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho vs. Big Show
As DX takes a seat at ringside, the WWE Champion John Cena makes his way to the ring for tonight's Triple Threat main event. Out next is one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho followed by his partner Big Show. As Show finishes his entrance, we go to commercial.
Back from the break and Show is working Cena over on the floor. Cena counters him and goes back in the ring against Jericho. Cena with a suplex on Jericho and a 2 count. Show trips Cena as he runs the ropes and pulls him out to the floor. Show works Cena over and tosses him into the fan barrier. Show throws him in the ring and Jericho gets a 2 count on him. Jericho and Show exchange words before beating down Cena some more. Show with a big suplex on Cena.
Cena fights back on Show and Jericho but gets knocked out of the air by Big Show. Jericho with right hands on Cena. Jericho holds Cena while Show hits him with a big chop. Show and Jericho continue to dominate Cena. Jericho with a backdrop on Cena. "Vintage DX" on commentary tonight. They launch Cena into the opposite corner and he goes down.
Show charges Cena in the corner but he moves out of the way. Cena hip tosses Jericho and hits the running bulldog. Show comes back and spears Cena. Jericho hits the Lionsault and goes for a pin but Show breaks the pin. Show and Jericho have words. Jericho shoves him and slaps him. Show tosses Jericho over the top rope and goes for a knockout punch on Cena. Cena ducks it and fights back. Show goes for a chokeslam but Cena slides out of it. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment but Show falls on top of him. Show climbs to the second rope for the Vader Bomb. Cena rolls out of the way. Show runs into a boot of Cena in the corner, and another. Cena knocks Show through the ropes with a shoulder. Jericho comes in and Cena hits his usual set of moves. Cena hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Jericho and goes for an Attitude Adjustment. As he picks Jericho up, Show is on the apron and hits Cena with the knockout punch. Jericho takes advantage and gets the pinfall and the win.
Winner: Chris Jericho
After the match, Jericho locks on the Walls of Jericho while Show applies the clutch at the same time. DX rush the ring but Show takes HBK out with the knockout punch. Triple H tries to fight back but Jericho drops him with the Codebreaker. Big Show and Jericho celebrate in the ring while DX and Cena are laid out. We go to replays. RAW goes off the air with the Tag Team Champions on the ramp as DX and Cena try to recover in the ring.

Ric Flair Training Hard For Return, Austin Movie Update
Posted on 11.02.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. He recently heard from two WWE legends...
Ric Flair: “Ric Flair called me Saturday as I was pulling into Owen Field in Norman about two hours before the Sooner game. Ric is staying very busy and the state lottery, promotional endorsement that he’s doing may be growing to other states outside the old, Mid Atlantic Territory area. Ric told me he was working out twice a day, when he could, in preparation for the upcoming Australian tour on which he’s booked. After talking to ‘Naitch’ it’s obvious to me that he still has the passion and the fire to perform inside a wrestling ring which should come really as no shock or surprise and I don’t think that his passion to perform will ever wane. Mother Nature might cause Ric more ‘female problems’ but Ric’s will to compete and perform can’t be deterred.”
Steve Austin: “Steve Austin called me Sunday afternoon during the Packers-Vikings game and most of our discussion centered on football and how I was doing battling my ‘little friend’ Bells palsy #3. Steve is preparing to head up to Vancouver to film another action/adventure movie that is going to be largely done outdoors in the beautiful terrain of Vancouver, British Columbia. The Texas Rattlesnake expects to encounter plenty of ‘weather’ including ample rain which apparently is what they want for the film to have the organic grittiness to fit the script. I don’t know the release date but one can assume some time in 2010 nor do I know the title. I obviously don’t know much but as I said we talked football and not work.”

TNA Founder Comments On Hogan & Bischoff Signings
Posted on 11.02.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Jerry Jarrett, one of the founders of TNA Wrestling, posted the following comments on his Facebook page today regarding TNA's new partnership with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff:
The hot news currently is all about Hulk Hogan and Eric Bishoff signing with TNA. I sincerely wish them well and from the one comment I read, Hulk might be able to bring a positive shift to the company. Hulk stated that he wants to help the new talent learn and appreciate the "Art of Professional Wrestling". If he is allowed to do this, the product will greatly improve and it will be positive for the business.
The "Art of Professional Wrestling" has been lost recently and I place the blame squarly on the shoulders of the promoters of the business. Wrestling talent currently is over-produced to the point that most wrestlers are reduced to trying to be actors, (which most are not) by giving scripted interviews and robotic matches. To make matters worse, the scripts are written by producers who don't have a clue what professional wrestling is all about.
In about five years the business changed and in my opinion for the worst. I discovered in 2002, when we started TNA, that the heart of the business had been removed and all that remained was the illusion of professional wrestling. I walked in the building in Huntsville, Ala. to find the ring filled with wrestlers rehearsing every move that they planned to make during their match. I watched as wrestlers sat reading and memorizing interviews. I was dumbfounded when I discovered that basic principals of the business were alien to the new wrestlers. I felt that I was talking in a foreign language. What is heat? What is a ring general? What is selling? What do you mean when you say listen to the fans?
I was told after I broke into this business that it was our duty to teach the new talent the "Art of Professional Wrestling". I was told when we began TNA that the business had changed and it was not possible to go back to that art form. I have my personal excuses for not going in that direction, but I regret not trying and this is why I truly hope Terry can do what I could not do.
The business today has truly changed. The new wrestlers are taught in "training camps", or wrestling schools. It seems to me that if you put twenty wrestlers in a school and one man teaches them all, they would tend to be somewhat clones of each other. Wrestlers should be taught the business by other wrestlers in live situations. A student who goes to a wrestling school will learn everything he is going to lean at the school in 90 days. He will never advance until he learns from veteran wrestlers in live match situations. Far too much emphases is placed on in ring work anyway. I think this is the result of wrestling websites, written by people who have never had a match, telling wrestlers that they have a 5 star match or a 2 star match. I'd guess that Hulk Hogan has never been given one 5 star match rating in his career. I'd also bet that he had drawn more money in the wrestling business than all the 5 star rated wrestles combined.
Superstars of the wrestling business become Superstars because of their personalities and not because of their in-ring wrestling abliity. Verbal skills are much more important that physical skills when it comes to drawing money in this business. You don't develop verbal skills in a talent by writing a script and allowing the talent to read his lines. How can a writer of these interview scripts not produce clone interviews? The unique personalities of wrestlers are hidden and only the thoughts of this one writer are expressed.
The uniqueness of professional wrestling and it's great public appeal is based on the interaction of personalities of the talent. To not understand this concept is to fail. If you take a walk in your memory and remember the great stars of professional wrestling, you will find that you best remember the personality and not the matches of these stars.
So Terry, good luck in your efforts. You have a big job in front of you.

TNA Officials Extremely Worried About Hulk Hogan Deal

Hulk Hogan already has some of the higher-ups in TNA worried as he apparently seemed hard-pressed to even mention the organization during his media blitz promoting his book last week.
While the wrestling legend put over TNA here and there, the feeling is he treated the organization as an afterthought when appearing on such highly visible shows as Larry King Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Some within TNA are even second-guessing whether The Hulkster will even show up on TV or not.

– For those wondering, Hulk Hogan will be not appearing at this week’s set of iMPACT! television tapings in Orlando, Florida.
– Eric Bischoff is supposed to show up in Orlando for this week’s slate of iMPACT! tapings, but as of yesterday, TNA officials weren’t sure of his intentions. Many feel that if he works this week’s television tapings, it would show interest on the part of Hogan’s camp in the organization. However, if the former Vice President of World Championship Wrestling isn’t present this week, they doubt Hogan will ever show up in TNA.
– In terms of pay-per-view buys, trending numbers are showing Bound for Glory up 40% from the previous month’s No Surrender event (which is believed to have scored bottom level numbers), but with lower preliminary numbers than this year’s Lockdown.

Dwayne Johnson Makes Amends With Fan Who He Denied

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got some negative press last month after he refused to sign an autograph for a fan. According to ContactMusic.com, the former WWE champ is making it up to the fan in a big way.
It all started when a security guard on the set of his upcoming film "The Other Guys" approached Johnson and asked for an autograph and a picture for his son. Johnson refused, saying he can't sign autographs for every single person who asks.
The story was reported in the New York Post newspaper and caught the attention of Johnson. Determined to make the situation right, he tracked down the fan and offered him a walk-on role in the 'Other Guys' movie and an autographed photo for his son. A source told Contact Music, "He was very apologetic."

Jim Ross Says WWE Needs To Overhaul Its Recruiting Process
Posted on 11.02.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
In an interview with Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross spoke at length about how important it is for WWE to overhaul its recruiting process and find the next generation of superstars. “It’s just a matter focusing on recruiting and finding world class athletes and encouraging them to have the aptitude and desire – and maybe more importantly, be fans of the product – to try this profession.”
Ross continued, “It’s imperative. The scouting and the whole process has to be accelerated and maintained and improved upon every single day. As long as they have that mind-set, they’re going to continue to find good young guys that have potential. And then about one or two out of 10 will make it. It’s going to be an interesting future, but I don’t perceive it to be bleak whatsoever.”
Ross also commented on fellow Oklahoman Jack Swagger’s strengths and weaknesses. “Swagger’s got a blessing and a curse,” Ross said. ” He has the blessing of having so much God-given physical ability as a natural 6-5 or 6-6 kid that’s 260, so he has good size. He has an amazing athletic background. He’s been wrestling since he was in elementary school. He wrestled in a Division I program [at Oklahoma] with good success. But he’s one of those guys that is so good that he can put it in a little above neutral and be better than most. What he has to find is the fire inside him that’s going to drive him internally to get to the next level and the next level after that.”

Hulk Hogan Rips Vince McMahon & Hypes His Return
Posted on 11.02.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
In an interview with the Chicago Tribune newspaper, Hulk Hogan pulled no punches when talking about his relationship with WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Hogan admits that his return to wrestling is partially motivated by money, but says the desire to help the industry and compete with Vince are also factors.
“Some people say Vince made wrestling and some say it was Hulk Hogan,” Hogan said. “We both did it together. I thought it would be cool to see who has more juice right now.” He added “I still have reasons to go do this, and it’s not just because I need to make money — which I do. I still love it. I still love it, man. I don’t know what else to say.”
Hulk explained that he wears his WWE Hall of Fame ring to cover up a tattoo of his ex-wife’s name, but any value the ring has is purely sentimental. “I think Vince McMahon paid $20 for it. My high school ring was better than this thing.”
Despite the expectations that he’s coming to TNA to wrestle, his true motivation is to get people excited about wrestling again. “It’s all about having fun and making the crowd go crazy and I think I can still do that, man. I might limp a little and might have to pull myself up by the ropes to get up, but I won’t know until I get in there,” he said. “If I really do embarrass myself to the point where fans are laughing at me, I’ll leave.”

Matt Morgan Says Kurt Is Greatest Ever, DDP/TNA Update
Posted on 11.01.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
-- The Sun in the UK did an interview with TNA star Matt Morgan just moments after his match with Kurt Angle at Bound For Glory a few weeks ago. Here are some of the highlights.
On Kurt Angle raising his arm at Bound For Glory: "It felt like a passing of the torch, in some ways. Sometimes it doesn't matter whether you win or lose. I genuinely wasn't expecting him to do that. I was lying in the corner and he came over to me. I was like "are you f***ing kidding me?" and he said "I'm dead serious." He said to me after the match "no-one in my career has pushed me to the limit like this, ever." I earned the respect of the best wrestler in the entire universe. I feel great.
If Kurt Angle is the best ever: "I'm sorry, he just is. Even if I didn't work for this company, I would say the same thing. There ain't nobody better. He's like a robot. He's had broken necks, the full deal. I walked by him before the match and I noticed a scar on the back of his neck. He came out for his entrance and was almost hunched over. I thought he was hurt. The bell rings, and he's a whole other animal. From the walking dead to the best wrestler on the planet."
On the fan reaction at Bound For Glory and getting booed: "We had a lot of mainstream fans here tonight. There were some TNA loyals cheering for me, but some cheer for a heel to be cool, and some simply knew Kurt better than me. Everyone who pays for their ticket has the right to express their opinion, and it's my job to make them cheer or boo. Sometimes it's just about being in the moment. Remember at Wrestlemania when The Rock faced Hogan and all the fans cheered Hogan and booed The Rock? The Rock reacted and played, he was so awesome, he was living that moment. Fans, for better or worse, want to cheer the heels. That's how the nWo got started. I was a huge nWo fan. I never cheered a heel in my life apart from them. But they were great, they were hysterical. Perhaps it's because heels in the business get more mic time, more time to show their cockiness. I think babyfaces maybe need to get more."
-- Diamond Dallas Page did an interview with ForceofWrestling. A few questions asked to him were:
Who his dream opponent would be: He listed The Rock because it would have been great to have The People's Champion vs. The People's Champion. He had envisioned that angle 2 years before joining WWE, but felt he missed the boat on that one and that was a big goal of his. The other being Randy Orton cause DDP mentioned that they both have the same moves and puts over his character as a heel. He loves that Randy Orton has the RKO finisher and isn’t upset with him doing the same move as the diamond cutter. DDP stated when it’s time for Orton to turn baby face he will be the hottest thing going and no one will touch him.
On possibly going to TNA: His exact words were "As of right now no, none, I have no interest, but I am going to do some independent wrestling to see how my body feels. When you go to TV you need to be bringing your A game. I am 53 years old, I don’t want to be beat up like Hulk Hogan, walking around the way he does. Am I ruling out returning to TNA, no, will I return, well who knows. You would have to offer me the right money, it would have to be the right angle. You never rule it out, cause never say never."
On the stalker angle in WWE: He felt it could have went well, but that’s not Takers gimmick and blames himself for going through with it. As said in question 1, he pitched the Ppl’s Champ vs. Ppl’s Champ angle to Vince, but Vince said he would have rather have him come in as Undertaker’s stalker and said do you really want to do a Ppl’s Champ vs. Ppl’s champ, and regrets giving in to the whole angle with Undertaker.
On Vince McMahon: He respects Vince for what he’s done in the business. He has nothing bad to say about him, due to the fact that he made his own decisions. “Did he help my career while I was there? Hell no” , “Could he have used me better? Absoultely”. He states not blaming anyone for anything and has no hard feelings towards Vince.
DDP also mentioned his main priority is www.yrgfitness.com and to go check it out if you want to see what he's up to.

Kofi Kingston Reveals Why He Dropped The Fake Accent
Posted on 10.30.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
In a recent interview with SkySports, WWE Raw superstar Kofi Kingston explains why he’s dropped the Jamaican gimmick and is now billed from his real birthplace, Ghana, West Africa.
“I was actually born in Ghana, West Africa,” Kingston said. “As far as the whole Jamaican thing is actually concerned, growing up I actually loved everything about Jamaica. I loved the food, the culture, the laid-back attitude. When I came to the WWE initially I wanted to come out to something that attributed both my love for wrestling and the Jamaican heritage.
“I wanted to come out to something unique and something people had never seen before. But at a certain point it becomes about being real and true to yourself, as opposed to playing a character. You look at guys like Triple H. When he first started out he was Hunter Hearst Helmsley and before that he was Terra Ryzing – I don’t know if a lot of people know that.
“Stone Cold Steve Austin was Stunning Steve Austin before he became Stone Cold. The Rock was Rocky Maivia before he became The Rock. Shawn Michaels was a Rocker before he became the Heartbreak Kid. I think in wrestling and the WWE you see a trend of guys who make transitions. And I think for me I’m in that transition stage into coming into my own.”

Hulk Hogan Tells Time Magazine Why He Picked TNA Over WWE

In an interview with Time Magazine, Hulk Hogan says that he chose to partner with TNA Wrestling instead of returning to World Wrestling Entertainment mostly because he wants to help the younger generation of wrestlers. To read the full interview, visit Time.com.
"When I woke up and realized I should be my own man and be responsible for being happy, I realized I still have a lot to contribute to the wrestling business," Hogan said. "And jumping into TNA and being a part of that company is huge. I have a chance to give back and help these young wrestlers who don't understand the business and the art form."
Hogan explains how the business has changed dramatically since the 1980s. "The business moves so much faster now," he responded. "It used to be if Andre the Giant and I had a feud, it'd probably play out six or seven months later at a big event. Nowadays, if Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan have a feud at 9 o'clock, it's usually over by 9:30. It's a story-telling art form to create emotion and drama and I just think a lot of that is lost."

Following the announcement that Hulk Hogan will now be working with TNA Wrestling, there have been some curious changes to WWE.com that are worth noting.
Both Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair's profiles have been removed from the Alumni section of WWE.com. Eric Bischoff, who will be joining Hulk Hogan in working with TNA, still has a profile on the Alumni page.
While its somewhat understandable why Hogan's profile would be taken down now that he's working for WWE's top competitor, there hasn't really been anything newsworthy with Ric Flair in recent days. While he is wrestling next month despite WWE's grand sendoff last year at WrestleMania, this has been known for quite some time.

Roddy Piper Hosting Raw & Wants To Wrestle Vince McMahon
Posted on 10.29.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
REMINDER: Rowdy Roddy Piper will be appearing on tonight’s episode of the FX comedy show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
In an interview with IconvsIcon.com, WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper says that he’ll be hosting an upcoming edition of WWE Raw. While Piper hosting WWE Raw seems to be an indication that everything is fine between the two parties, that’s far from the case. Piper says he wasn’t happy with his involvement at WrestleMania 25 this April and wants to close his career on a better note.
“I wasn’t very happy with Wrestlemania XXV. In my mind, I want to put a cap on it as you say, with one more match, an extraordinary performance,” Piper said. “Ya know the clock is tickin’, let’s be honest, so sooner rather then later. So, I think if you saw me in Raw that it would be leading into that match. I don’t know what it is yet. But yeah, you are correct.”
Since WrestleMania back in April, Piper has been outspoken against WWE for booking him in a three-on-one handicap match with Ricky Steamboat and Jimmy Snuka against Chris Jericho. “I wasn’t wild about WrestleMania 25 to put it mildly. There’s not a chance in hell that that’s the last way you’re gonna see me,” Piper said on the Monday Night Mayhem radio show in August. “There will definitely be a return of Roddy Piper…and sooner than later. How many more fights I have in me, I don’t know.”
Piper knows that his days in the ring are virtually over, but he’s got an idea for one more high profile match that he’d like to see take place at WrestleMania 26 next year. “You got Vince McMahon who’s done a great job of promoting, who became a bodybuilder, and the last I saw him, I think he’s convinced himself he could fight now,” Piper said. “I say this…why don’t you just put Roddy Piper and Vince McMahon in the ring.”

Hulk Hogan appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. Fallon plugged his book and his “long-awaited return to pro wrestling” during Hulk’s intro. Jimmy talks about how he had all of the Hulk Hogan merchandise like the bandanas and dolls.
First, they talk about his book. Hulk says that he bottomed out, and everything disappeared at once which is what lead to the book. He recalls when he was about to open up American Gladiators and received the phone call that his wife was filing for divorce right before he was about to head onto the stage. He talks about having two of the worst days of his life when he got into his “old wrestler mentality” with drinking and taking pills. He says his main message is that things are cool and things get better. He says Eric Bischoff and Jimmy Hart told him he needs to speak up about his situation after he was getting slammed in the tabloids for so many months.
He speaks on Lou Albano passing away and says he was a great friend of his.
Jimmy says that The Hulkster just announced that he’s back wrestling again. Hulk says he’s going to get his legs back in Australia, and is going to be working with TNA. He says there has only been one wrestling company for the fans to watch, and he wants to start things back up again. He says he thinks he knows a little something about the wrestling business and wants to talk to all of the young wrestlers. There was no mention of tonight’s TNA iMPACT on Spike TV.

The TNA roster was notified yesterday via emails and text messages that Hulk Hogan had signed with TNA. The signing of Hogan was kept a secret from even top individuals in TNA, only a select few knew about it.
Hogan’s signing isn’t without controversy, as some within the company feel he’s only there to promote his book. Others feel Bischoff is only trying to get in with Kevin Kay from Spike TV, so he can lay the groundwork for future reality shows.
There are already people within the company shaking their heads that Hogan has basically done nothing to promote TNA during his media appearances.
TNA will be airing highlights from the Hogan press conference this week on iMPACT, then we’ll see what happens after that at next week’s iMPACT tapings on Monday and Tuesday.

Following the announcement of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff signing with TNA, word from within the company has been that there will be yet another big announcement on the way and this was only the first of several major changes. With Dixie Carter’s mission to create marquee names out of the likes of Matt Morgan and Hernandez, there’s talk of a Monday night timeslot for the company as well as several other major signings. Ric Flair is currently in talks with the company, and rumors are swirling about other big names in negotiations.
To get the biggest names out of the way, TNA has reached out to Steve Austin and Bill Goldberg but the two have not shown any interest in working for them.
All of the rumors going around about Mr. Kennedy and Diamond Dallas Page appear to be false right now, and we can also confirm that Jimmy Hart was not part of the Hogan/Bischoff-TNA deal.
Hogan and Bischoff are currently pushing pretty hard for TNA to sign a certain former WWE and ECW champion. TNA has officially reached out to Rob Van Dam but he has yet to make a decision, as of press time.

Jim Ross Comments On Hulk Hogan Signing With TNA
Posted on 10.28.09 by Jason Stone | WWE News |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on Hulk Hogan signing with TNA Wrestling and Hogan's ability to keep himself in the spotlight:
"Hogan makes big news this week launching his new book, talking Australian tour, and briefly mentioning TNA on what I saw of his Larry King appearance Tuesday night of which 'Ol Lar' phoned it in."
"I did agree with Hulk that pro wrestling needs to put more individualism back into the game and allow talents to explore the bounds of their abilities which will facilitate finding new stars quicker and, at the same time, eliminates some wannabes from the process. Instincts is more of a vital skill than the ability to memorize."
"Hulk Hogan is ALL over the news this week which re-establishes the premise that Hulk is one of the greatest, self promoters of all time...BROTHER! Now, that isn't necessarily a bad thing as any independent contractor who is entrepreneurial in spirit such as a pro wrestler has to have the ability to promote one's self in order to survive over time. Hogan is an old school guy, in many ways, so 'keeping one's self over' is nothing new and many guys have raised that skill to an art form but none better than Hulk."

To follow up on rumors that Ric Flair is currently in talks with TNA, it's worth noting that Flair has a multi-year deal with Eric Bischoff's production company for upcoming projects. Now that Bischoff and Hogan have joined TNA, it apparently has opened up talks between the company and The Nature Boy. Flair and Bischoff have aparently resolved their once-bitter rivalry.
One source within TNA feels that Flair joining the company is a matter of "when" and not "if". Flair is still slated for the upcoming "Hulkamania Tour" of Australia.
Also, rumors are still swirling about TNA getting a Monday night timeslot from 8:00-10:00 PM, which would put them head-to-head with WWE RAW for one hour. Nothing regarding the Monday night timeslot rumors has been confirmed, but it's definitely a hot topic among TNA employees right now.

Hogan On Stern: Why He Signed w/ TNA, Hosting RAW?, More
Posted on 10.28.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was a guest on the Howard Stern SiriusXM satellite radio show this morning. Here's a recap:
- Hogan confirmed what we reported earlier this year, that he had talks with WWE about facing John Cena at WrestleMania 25. The match never happened because Hogan hurt himself training and needed back surgery.
- Hogan claims WWE CEO Vince McMahon contacted him recently about hosting an upcoming edition of WWE Raw. Ironically enough, Vince wanted Hogan to host WWE Raw on November 16th from Madison Square Garden – the location where Hogan held a press conference this week to announce he’s signed with TNA Wrestling.
- Hogan also claimed Vince McMahon wanted to begin the Hulk Hogan retirement tour, similar to what they did for Ric Flair last year. Hogan said he still feels he has plenty of gas left in the tank and doesn’t want to retire.
- Hulk said the main reason he signed with TNA Wrestling instead of going back to work for WWE is because Vince wanted to own the rights to the Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania names – which he wouldn’t do. He told Howard that Vince is probably not pleased with his decision to sign with TNA.

Report: TNA Planning Even Bigger Announcement Than Hulk?
Posted on 10.28.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
With reports suggesting that Ric Flair has agreed to be linked with Hulk Hogan in wrestling endeavors, talk has already started suggesting Flair will follow The Hulkster in going to TNA Wrestling. But, if insider reports are correct, there could be even more to the story.
F4WOnline.com cites sources familiar with TNA's plans who said that something bigger than the Hulk Hogan/Eric Bischoff acquisition is set to break in the coming weeks. As Hogan is a bigger commercial draw than a name like Ric Flair, the feeling is that it will be more than a mere announcement that another wrestling veteran has signed.
At the same time, because TNA announcements have a history of being over-hyped, one should hesitate before assuming the upcoming story will totally shake up the wrestling industry. One rumor going around the 'web is that TNA has acquired a Monday night TV time slot from 8:00 to 10:00 PM, but this is purely a rumor right now.

Breaking: Kevin Nash Suspended From TNA For 1 Week
Posted on 10.28.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch
According to a source, Kevin Nash has been told not to attend next week's TNA iMPACT! tapings. Some within the company are referring to it as a one-week suspension.
The suspension is a result of Nash blowing up last week due to Chris Sabin's injury. Nash thought the match should have been stopped, and then proceeded to go to the ring and cut an unscripted promo bashing the company.
All eyes were on Dixie Carter to see whether she would punish Nash over the outburst and that is what happened. For what it's worth, most of the locker room was in favor of Nash looking out for the well-being of his co-workers.

He says that later on tonight Rey Mysterio and Batista will have a heart to heart to discuss what happened at the PPV. He talks about the title match at Survivor Series and is interrupted by Chris Jericho. Jericho says he should get the title shot, not Big Show. Long says the Bragging Rights trophy is the property of Smackdown and takes it away from Jericho. Kane interrupts and says he deserves a title shot since he was co-captain. Jericho argues with Kane, who starts choking him. Long tells Kane to let Jericho go, and he does. Long says if Raw is going to have a triple threat title match, so is Smackdown. Tonight it will be Kane vs. Jericho, and the winner gets put into the title match at Survivor Series.

Dolph tells Morrison that he's the only member of the SD roster that lost at Bragging Point (yes, he called it Bragging Point) and Morrison says he doesn't recall seeing Dolph actually have a match. Ziggler wins by countout after dropping Morrison on the SD announce table.
*Backstage Vince McMahon congratulates Teddy Long on winning at Bragging Rights. CM Punk comes in and says he should be in the title match at Survivor Series and that he'd still be champ if it wasn't for Scott Armstrong's shoddy officiating. Vince agrees with Punk and says tonight Punk will have a match against Scott Armstrong. Punk loves the idea and thanks Vince.

Batista comes out and asks Rey how dare he call him out. Rey says he just wants to straighten things out, Batista tells him he's giving him a chance to leave the ring. Rey refuses to leave and tells Batista that it was a Fatal 4 Way, did he not expect him to try to win? He says Batista is like his big brother and he's willing to let bygones be bygones, that if he had known being in the match was going to interfere with their friendship, he would have never been in the match. Batista gives Rey one last chance to leave the ring, Rey won't go. Rey says to think about everything they've been through, to think about Eddy. Batista says 'Eddy's dead', that he's not thinking about Rey, he's thinking about himself. Batista leaves the ring and walks off.
*Backstage, Matt Hardy approaches Batista and tells him to think about what he's doing. There are things he did to Jeff that he wishes he could take back but he can't, and that Rey and Batista really are family. Batista walks off and Matt turns around and starts texting on his cell phone, Batista comes up from behind and attacks him.
*Drew McIntyre comes out and says he didn't want to be a part of Team Smackdown to begin with, as he will be making his own impact. He says the party is over for his opponent. Finlay comes out but Drew attacks him as he stepped on the apron. Drew beats him down. The match never officially happened. Refs comes out to help Finlay.

Hulk On Larry King: TNA, His Son Wrestling?, Suicide, More
Posted on 10.27.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Hulk Hogan appeared on Larry King Live tonight on CNN to plug his new book, My Life Outside The Ring. The interview started off with Hulk explaining why he came out with the book now, saying that he wants to give people hope and show them that life is worth fighting for.
He says that he “crashed and burned” and his life as he knew it had changed when he walked into his house and it was completely empty. He says he prayed to be happy, and things changed instantly. He recounts the story where he came close to suicide but a friendly phone call from Layla Ali gave him hope. He talks about how he hardly knew her but she called to check on him because she saw how lost he was on the set of American Gladiators when he was served with the divorce papers. Larry got a quote from Ali who says she had no idea the shape he was in when she called her, but that the phone call was divine intervention.
He says they weren’t hiding anything on Hogan Knows Best, but rather were hoping that the show would bring them together. He says he has learned that life is beautiful, and he doesn’t retract anything in the book because it’s all the truth. Hulk briefly mentions that Linda is still with Charlie Hill, who went to school with his children.
Larry calls Hulk’s story “incredible” and says the book is sure to be a best-seller.
They show a clip of Nick Hogan on Brooke Knows Best talking about losing his mind in solitary confinement in jail. Hulk says Nick is a great kid and walks in the spirit of Christ. He says both Nick and Brooke are great kids, and what happened with Nick was an accident. Hulk’s lawyer says that Hulk has always wanted to take care of John Graziano, but they feel some people among John’s guardians have ulterior motives. He says Hulk is being sued because he co-owned the vehicle and allowed his son to drive it. He says Brooke is working on her career and doing great things.
Hulk says he’s handled all of the recent events in his life by going back to a place that was real, and that was back of inside himself to find the spirit of Christ. He says that he already possesses everything he needs to be happy inside him, and now he attracts positive things because he‘s realized that.
They show footage from Hulk Hogan’s press conference at Madison Square Garden today. They show a bunch of fans wearing their Hulkamania gear and that one guy with a huge Hulk Hogan tattoo on his back. Larry mentions that Hulk has signed with TNA, and asks if Hulk will get back in the ring. Hulk says he is going to contribute as much as he can in TNA and take the business to a whole new level. He says he’s going to test out his legs in the ring in Australia before he decides if he’ll get in the TNA ring or not.
On the subject of steroids, he says when he got in the business everyone was using them and it was the norm. He says around 1988-1990 people got educated on it and realized it wasn’t necessary.
Hulk says Nick Hogan is heading out to Rikishi’s wrestling school in north Hollywood in his spare time and is learning the ropes. He thinks Nick is curious about what attracted his dad to the wrestling business all those years and wants to get in shape.
To close off the segment, Hulk says he wants to do a reality show where they find the next Hulk Hogan, like American Idol for wrestling.

WWE Raw from Monday night averaged a strong 3.7 rating and 5.59 million viewers over the course of two hours with strong showings in the first and second hour.
Looking at the viewership number, Raw had tremendous increases across the board. Raw was up 18.1 percent compared to the previous five weeks of TV, up 10.5 percent compared to the previous ten weeks of TV, and up 5.3 percent compared to all of 2009.
Over the previous five weeks, only one show cracked the five-million average viewer benchmark that WWE is striving for up against Monday Night Football.
The strong ratings for this week's show are found in the key demographics. Among males 18-49 and adults 18-49, Raw averaged its highest ratings since the September 7 show. Although the Sept. 7 show hosted by Bob Barker did very well in the TV ratings, this week's Raw following the Bragging Rights PPV averaged more viewers - 5.59 million vs. 5.48 million.

Details On Eric Bischoff's New Role In TNA
Posted on 10.27.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
Eric Bischoff will be partnering with TNA via Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment, according to a TNA source.
Bischoff was instrumental in Hulk Hogan signing with TNA and will be working with TNA going forward in creating new TNA television product and in securing television deals for those entities.
TNA has been looking at expanding their television product as their newest SpikeTV deal allows them to shop new series outside of Spike, should Spike pass on them. In the past, TNA has looked at launching series for the Knockouts, The X-Division and the Jeremy Borash-hosted Spin Cycle.
While we may see Eric Bischoff at some point appearing on TNA programming, he's more going to be partnering with TNA behind the scenes, as opposed to working day to day creatively.
Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment have produced a number of reality series, most notably the excellent VH-1 Scott Baio series.

Hogan Press Conference Recap: Bischoff, Russo, TNA, More
Posted on 10.27.09 by Jason Stone | TNA News |
The Hulk Hogan-TNA press conference today featured Eric Bischoff introducing Hulk Hogan. Hogan talked about TNA and stated he was becoming a "partner" in the company and that he was feeling great and looking forward to being a part of the company. The conference left the impression Hogan may be involved as a personality, but not wrestling for the group.
TNA President Dixie Carter gave a short speech saying she was looking forward to working with Hogan and that while they have great ratings for a Thursday night, Hogan would be the "boost that TNA needed." SpikeTV's Kevin Kay was also in attendance and gave a brief statement about the network working with Hogan.
The Q&A session was said to mostly be fluff fan type questions, although one fan did ask Hogan whether working with Vince Russo would be an issue. Hogan responded that as long as Russo stayed in his place and didn't cross him, there would be no issues. Hogan then said that if he did, Hogan would have to take care of it.
When the topic of Eric Bischoff came up, Hogan did not say if Bischoff was working with him in TNA but noted they have other side projects they are working on.
Obviously, Hogan's book being plugged was a big part of the conference as well.
CNN's Larry King Live had a camera crew there shooting footage for tonight's Hogan appearance.

More On Hogan To TNA & How It Will Affect The Creative Team

The following is from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com:
For those who have asked whether Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff coming into the company means they are going to take the reigns of TNA, I am told, "absolutely not."
I am also told, and this one shocks me personally, that the signing is not a precursor to removing the current TNA creative team. Given Vince Russo's past issues with Hogan, that is going to be extremely interesting to follow.
There are SpikeTV and TNA banners up at the Hogan press conference outside Madison Square Garden right now. Jimmy Hart is with Hogan and Bischoff as well. The signing was kept a secret to even the inner-most members of the TNA circle until today.
