Punk Banged Up at WM, Backstage News on Cesaro Not Being Used, More

Posted by Matt Boone April 8, 2013 15 Comments

- CM Punk banged up his knee in the spot where he jumped off the top rope with a flying elbow onto The Undertaker and the announcers table. People backstage were amazed that Punk didn’t slow down and finished the match because he was in a lot of pain.

- Time was cut from the Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio match at last nights pay-per-view.

- As noted earlier, several mid card talents were not used at WrestleMania 29, and they seemed to be down because of that. Many people within the company thought it was silly that United States Champion Antonio Cesaro was not used at all, despite how hard he has worked for the company.

I have newfound respect for Punk after that match. I was so happy the Spanish anounce table didn’t break for once. Of course, it did later on. I hate to say it because I can’t stand the guy, but Cesaro not being used was a little odd. When was the last time he defended?

i dont understand why Barrett was used and defended his title but Cesaro whos a better wrestler didn’t. I mean even if it was the pre-show but atleast let the man shine.

      • morrisonfanone

Yeah, I don’t know. Personally, I think Barrett’s a snooze fest. I’ve thought that since his Nexus days. Cesaro’s not bad, I guess.

Barett in preshow, Cesaro not used. Thats how much WWE cares for the guys who could be top stars if used right …

if those rumors about who vince likes and who he doesnt like are right, there is the problem.
vince likes fandangoo and invests a lot in him.
he does not like antonio cesaro. he IS the us champion…maybe because paul heyman and punk made that suggestion but thats all they wanted which is why vince makes him and barrett lose every raw and smackdown which means the us champ and ic champ are worthless.
when rocky is gone and cena retired, wwe is really going to suffer from those decisions

in those 3 main events, there was only one wrestler who is able to succeed more than he already has

    Blame Vince & Triple H

They could have easily put both the IC & US title for grabs in a triple threat match w/ Miz vs Barrett vs Cesaro winner take all. They could have had that as the pre-match. Personally I would have bumped Henry vs Ryback to pre-match & moved the title match to the main card. I would have had that open the show, followed by the six man tag & left everything else the same.

Hes a decent wrestler but the reason he was left off the show is because the crowd is never ever into his matches and even his parents go to the bathroom when his match is on TV. A little charisma goes a long way.

All of you WWE marks have no idea how over Cesaro/Castagnoli really is. You say he has no charisma because you eat only what WWE feeds you. Take a look outside of WWE every once in a while. The NY/NJ Wrestlemania crowd would have went wild over him, just like Daniel Bryan at last year’s, Guaranteed.

      • Save_Us.Y2K

If that’s true that’s only because last night crowd was pretty terrible. Please don’t assume you know anything about the people who post on here. Besides, what wrestling I follow is besides the point, the only thing that is relevant to this topic is how the crowds react to him since he is in the WWE, which is poorly. He gets less of a reaction then that clown Ryder. People just dont care about him and i highly doubt they ever will.
Nice of you to bring up DB though, because he’s really done anything of importance in the last year. He’s half of the comedy troupe known as the tag team champions. His biggest claim to fame is he can get people to chant YES in a few cities. HOF stuff right there.

        • Camp Cornette

I assumed right with you. What wrestling you follow IS the point. As long as you accept ONLY what WWE preaches to you as the gospel, it will continue to preach the “same ol’ sh!t” and fall into it’s downward spiral. Last night’s crowd at RAW wouldn’t, and the show was great because of them… By the way, as I’d hope you know, WWE is scripted by people other than the wrestlers. Hall of Fame? It’s WWE’s Hall of Fame and based on politics and fiction, not by actual success. Wake up.

WWE has gone to hell! After watching for 15 years, I think it is time for me to move on! FUCK WWE! FUCK TRIPLE H AND FUCK VINCE MCMAHON!

Everyone wants everything, now, now, now. There is no patience anymore. The guy hasn’t had a full year yet on the main roster, his career is not over.

ok I understand your point on that BUT what about Fandango, Ryback, or the Shield?

  • Beer Money Jobber

To paraphrase the words of the immortal Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, Vince & HHH are flushing the WWE down the old Bemis.
