RAW Rating, Backstage Note from SmackDown, Flair Talks Lawler

- WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair appeared on CNN Headline News this evening to talk about Jerry Lawler and the heart attack he suffered during RAW last night. Flair said he believes Lawler is more qualified to wrestle than most of the wrestlers on WWE’s roster because of his experience.

- Last night’s WWE RAW did a 2.88 cable rating with 4,136,000 viewers. In comparison, the two Monday Night Football games on ESPN did 10.96 million viewers and 10.45 million viewers.

- No word yet on who will do the announcing at tonight’s SmackDown tapings. The only word coming from the arena is that it’s pretty quiet backstage and likely to be a tame show.

As least there was one very positive thing from Raw. We never had to suffer Pat Patterson appreciation night. What has Patterson done to deserve it?. 1st IC Champ?. A fictional tournament in Rio in 79?, plus of cause Patterson had his feet on the rope right before the 123 was called on Ken Pantera, when of course the Ref should have called for the break. BULLSHIT!. Then there is the sexual harassment of Murray Hodgson, a ring announcer?. This was only dropped after so called lies to discredit Hodgson. Superstar Billy Graham always maintained that Patterson was a child molester, but could never prove it. Good publicity for the WWE?. NOT!!. Then there was the fiasco at a live PPV. Capital Carnage in London I think was the event. Patterson was guest announcer in the ring, and he addressed HHH as Hunter Hearse Hemsley instead of Hunter Hearst Helmsley. I put it to you all. PAT PATTERSON HAS DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE AN APPRECIATION NIGHT. The only reason he’s maybe getting it is because he’s Stephanie McMahon Helmsley’s godfather.
