Ryback Says He’s Better Than Bill Goldberg Ever Was

Posted by Matt Boone October 14, 2012 26 Comments

Ryback addressed oft-made comparisons between himself and Bill Goldberg during an interview published in the latest issue of WWE Magazine. He said they don’t bother him and that “people are misinformed.”

“People see a big guy with a shaved head who’s intense, and they draw those comparisons,” said Ryback. “I will say this: Goldberg did this for the money. He was never a fan of wrestling. I do this because I have a passion for it, and that’s the biggest difference between Goldberg and me. I’m not here to make five million dollars and then walk away. I’m here for life. And, I firmly believe that I’m much better than he was in the ring. He was great, and I was a fan of his when I was younger. But, I feel I’m a better athlete and wrestler than Goldberg ever was, and people are going to see that over time.”

goldberg would knock ryback all over the ring if them 2 ever did face off lol
      goldberg is a legend

      • Common Sense

A legend who got his ass whooped, literally, in a fight backstage with Chris Jericho.

        • Randy Savage

no he didnt. goldberg slammed jericho into a wall and jericho took him down. jericho is actually a really good wrestler but he didnt beat goldbergs ass no punches were thrown

Golberg is the man Ryback Just some pussy hole

    • Sofa

guess hes right…but still liked the badass gimmick of goldberg.

    • King James

Goldberg was athletic. Ryback is okay as far as athletics are concerned, but with creative limiting him to a few moves, nobody would ever know if he is better. He’s turning into the same “five move” wrestler that Cena is.
If he’s better than Goldberg, let’s see it.

Goldberg really isn’t an athelete, if he was then he wouldn’t have gotten cut from the Atlanta Falcons and tried to look for another job. Plus you always seen Goldberg’s matches end quick since he didn’t a variety of move set.

        • King James

According to that mentality if someone got cut from a professional football team, that person isn’t an athlete. I wonder if you hold Brock Lesnar to the same standard. UFC Champion wouldn’t be easy for a non-athlete I believe.

          • #HEEL

Lesnar was 1-1 before he got a shot at the title beating out a guy who was past his prime. If u use Brock as an example atleast bring up his NCAA wrestling accomplishments.

      • Common Sense

People seem to forget that Goldberg was just as limited as Cena was! Asides from the Spear, Jackhammer, Military Press, his arsenal of moves was pretty nonexistant. Ryback can actually say his technical skill is superior to Goldberg’s easily.

        • King James

He can say it. Now let’s see it.

      • ahmad

        lol. totally agree with you.
he has limited moves, i’m starting to get bored when he has a match.

It’s funny how Stone Cold said that he told Eric Bischoff that he wanted to just come out to no music and just black trunks. Then he leaves(fired) goes to WWE(after ECW) and uses that gimmick and BLOWS up. Then Bischoff and WCW uses that same idea for Goldberg and that blows up. I don’t think Goldberg is great like everyone said. I mean it did impress me when he jackhammered some guys. But the 1 thing that will always stay in my mind was when Curt Hennig perfect plexed the Giant.

Henning is number one in my top five fav of all time.

He can’t be claiming such things when you’re getting stuff for free. Vince is his friend and gave him this opportunity (blatant push), considering McMahon’s recent unplanned decisions I can’t take him seriously and whether Bill loved wrestling or not is irrelevant. Ryback is still a rookie overall.

      • http://www.facebook.com/havardj1 Håvard Johansen

Ryback has been in the game since 2003, he is not a rookie. WWE wanted to push him already in 2010, but he got injured. He is a great performer. Don’t let yourself get fooled by his squash matches on television, because he can do 20-min matches.

You’re the type that swallow’s anything McMahon throws at you, Feed me more is the new we want ryder. Get real Ryback vs Tensai was one of the worst matches of the year, seeing Tensai hold back looked to have the same formula as Angle vs Cena in 2006. I hate big pushes, hate them, you know why? because there are no rules, they will do ANYTHING to get this fucker relevant to anyone. Ring a bell sHHHeamus.

          • #HEEL

We want Ryder was an IWC thing. Zack was never going to be utilized as u can see by his push.

      • http://www.disqus/panin200.com ob4

i dnt see him rookie i see him as a pet Vince is shinning his ass for him

    • Papa Georgio

BLAH BLAH BLAH…you still suck Ryback and your big push has not been earned IMHO. Learn how to wrestle properly and earn your spot at the top instead of jumping the line. In Ryback’s defense though, it’s not his fault that the WWE is handing him the Golden Ticket.

    • Josh

“But, I feel I’m a better athlete and wrestler than Goldberg ever was, except for the fact that I couldn’t lift Albert from the mat and a sucky guy like him had to carry me (no pun intended) through the match.”

      • Splodey

It’s obvious that Albert sandbagged him.

    • santosh oza

i cute raiy back but wwe in hell in the cell go main event on punk and get wwe champian

    • The Flock

You guys act like it’s real and Ryback is his first role. In his past part he had more moves, there for he knows how to do more.
