Several New Champions Crowned At Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam PPV

WWE SummerSlam opened up on Sunday night with two title changes, as Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion in the pay-per-view opener, while Paige defeated AJ Lee in the second PPV match of the evening to become the new WWE Divas Champion.

Later on in the show, in the third of three title matches, the title change count went 3-0, as Brock Lesnar defeated John Cena in the main event of the evening to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion

      I would say the only one of these that was surprising was Paige. Although, in hindsight, it makes sense for her to take the match so that they could continue to add fuel to the rivalry. AJ would have been up 3-1 with a victory here tonight, and I can see interest in that rivalry dying down in that scenario.

      I wouldn’t say I was surprised or shocked but I didn’t think that Ziggler would win. Seem like the Miz was being focused on more and was given a slight push. I’m glad Ziggler won and the guy deserves it.
