The Latest On Issues Regarding The WWE Network Launch
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
The WWE Network delay has been confirmed by several key people involved, who were told of the delay this week. Nobody knows the new launch date yet, but people were told to get rid of all mentions of the previous April 1st plans. Word going around at RAW was that it will launch this Fall, but no date is known. As previously noted, they pushed back the launch date because they don’t have enough clearance yet and don’t want the channel to be labeled a flop right off the bat.
Vince McMahon is looking to get more wrestling legends involved with the channel and has reportedly reached out to people who in the past he wouldn’t have.
A reality show, presumably the “Legends House” project, will begin filming soon and will go for 21 weeks, including post-production. The house will be in the Palm Springs area and 10 episodes will be shot. It’s a “Big Brother”-style reality show featuring eccentric wrestling legends living under one roof. As of last we heard, The Iron Sheik has not been approached for the show yet.
