There’s a new pro wrestling drama headed to NBC – and WWE star Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson will be one of the Executive Producers for the project, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with Warner Bros. Television have sold a the one-hour “fictional wrestling drama” based int he 1980s to NBC.
The show will see Brent Fletcher and Seamus Kevin Fahey as co-executive producers and writers, with Kristie Anne Reed on board as a co-Executive Producer. Fletcher had previously written an episode of Lost and Friday Night Lights, and Fahey has written for Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Battlestar Galactica.
The Rock wrote the following on Twitter about the show: “Kickin’ Ass! Excited to partner up w @BruckheimerJB & @NBC to create 1980′s wrestling TV drama.”
