New details have emerged on what exactly TNA hired former WWE writer Dave Lagana for. PWInsider.com reports that Lagana will not be working on Impact Wrestling, but rather a brand new and completely separate project in India.
The new project is a weekly wrestling series for the Indian market, which will apparently not be using the Impact Wrestling brand name nor it’s creative team. The project is spearheaded by Jeff Jarrett and will begin taping in December in India. Dutch Mantel is also working on the project with Jarrett, and now Lagana as well.
As far as the roster goes, it will be completely separate from the TNA roster. Sonjay Dutt and former TNA referee Rudy Charles have been scouting talent in India to join a roster that will also include former WWE/TNA/WCW/ECW talent, as well as independent talent from the U.S.
When Sonjay Dutt was in India, he had a tryout with other 100 potential talents. Ten were selected and will be brought to the U.S. for training prior to the tapings in December.
The new series will air on The Colors Network, which is known as Aapka Colors in the U.S. This is a Viacom-owned network that launched in 2008, and is carried on Dish Network.
