Update On Roderick Strong & Kevin Steen Trying Out For WWE, Elgin/WWE

Posted by Matt Boone February 27, 2014 2 Comments

As previously reported, Ring Of Honor stars Roderick Strong and Kevin Steen were considered pretty likely candidates for the next WWE NXT tryout camp at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Apparently Strong and Steen are confirmed to take part in the next WWE tryout, which takes place from March 24th through March 26th.

Independent wrestling star Michael Elgin was also reportedly trying to get into the next tryout camp, but there is no definitive word yet as to whether or not he will be a part of it.

Damn, if this is true then ROH will just be damn near completely gutted!

Woah. To be honest, I don’t think this is much of a blow to ROH. Both Roddy and Steen have done pretty much everything in the company – but I can see Elgin being a loss – if only because he still has the potential to be ROH’s next big ‘homegrown’ star.

Nevertheless, I can’t see Kevin Steen being Kevin Steen in WWE without some serious neutering (not to mention his body shape). Hopefully HHH will go to bat for him, and let him keep his edgy persona (and not pull a Chris Hero by forcing him to ‘train harder’).
