It’s for the WWE Network. Honestly, this isn’t that “new”. Their WWE 24/7 program was essentially the same thing but on a smaller scale.

Frankly the network will flop, in my view. WWE is lucky to get ratings in the 2’s. For those keeping score those are the kind of numbers WWE was seeing when they had their cartoony gimmiks going on during the New Generation Era right before the Monday Night Wars started. That’s pretty abysmal. While I think a WWE Network would be great, they just don’t have a strong enough core demo to support it, and with fans moving more and more to outlets such as Hulu and Netflix and away from traditional cable, it just isn’t financially sound.

The big thing not being talked about is if it does fail, how much is it going to set back WWE financially? And will it be a number they can recover from?

The WWE Network is doomed to fail, and I hate that just as much as anyone else, but it’s a harsh truth, and I sincerely do hope that I’m proven wrong. Bottom line, if the NFL network is losing viewers as quickly as they are then the WWE has “No Chance In Hell.”
