John Cena & Bray Wyatt Promo Segment
When we return from commercial, after Arnold Schrwazenegger is announced as next week’s RAW celebrity guest host, John Cena makes his way to the ring. He receives his usual mixed-bag reaction, actually getting more positive cheers than negative.
He says there is a lot of energy in the building tonight. He says that he has been here for 12 years, and over 3500 matches. He says he has spent a lot of time with The WWE Universe. Sometimes they get along, sometimes not so much. He says he has always given his best. He says that he has always been honest. Cena says that he is afraid of Bray Wyatt. He says that he is afraid of who he is and what he stands for. He says he is afraid that the people are actually listening to Bray Wyatt. He says Bray is different from anyone he has ever faced. He says Bray couldn’t care less if he was the best. He just wants to destroy everything. He says that Bray is trying to convince them that he is a phony, and that he is evil. Cena says he believes in everything he has done in the past. He says Wrestlemania is about fighting for every injury and scar his body has had to endure. He says at Wrestlemania, he will fight for his legacy. As he continues to speak, The Wyatt Family cut-in happens.
Bray Wyatt, along with the rest of The Wyatt Family appear on screen. Bray says that children believe in superheros, because they want to believe that the world is good. They haven’t lived long enough to learn that life is a lie. Bray says that his childhood wasn’t about rainbows and butterflies. Bray says he has some scars too. Bray says his scars are from his birthright. Bray says that he could be just like Cena. He could kiss babies and sign autograph. He said he could tell jokes to make himself feel better. Bray says that he is different, because at Wrestlemania he doesn’t care if he ever leaves, and he doesn’t care if he dies. Just as long as the world sees Cena the same way that he does. He finishes with his usual “Follow the Buzzards” tag-line.
Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan
We see both Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan backstage heading to the ring as we head to another commercial. When we return from commercial, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his way to the ring. During his ring walk, we see highlights of the opening segment tonight where Orton blasted Batista with his RKO, as well as Renee Young attempting to talk to “The Animal” backstage afterwards. Out next is the leader of the “Yes! Movement,” Daniel Bryan. Bryan comes out to his usual loud positive reaction from the fans in San Antonio.
The bell rings to make this one official. Orton starts off with a kick to the gut followed by right hands. Bryan fights back with rights of his own. Bryan tosses Orton face first into the corner. Bryan lands kicks to the gut. Orton hits the ropes and eats a knee to the gut. Bryan slides outside and wraps Orton’s leg around the ring post. Bryan slides back in the ring and hits a drop kick. Bryan lands a few uppercuts but Orton comes back with a headbutt. Orton pulls Bryan to the apron and hits a few clubbing blows to the chest.
Orton climbs back into the ring. Orton hits a few uppercuts. Orton hits the ropes and gets drop kicked to the outside. Bryan hits a suicide dive to the floor and leads the fans in a big in “Yes!” chant. Orton pulls a kendo stick from under the ring and nails Bryan with it. Orton back drops Bryan onto the announce table. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from commercial, Orton is choking Daniel Bryan with the kendo stick in the ring. Orton connects with a big kendo stick shot to the body. Both men are now outside and Orton drops Bryan back first on the barricade. Orton rolls Bryan in the ring and covers for a 2 count. Both men outside again and Orton tosses Bryan crotch first into the ring post. Orton then hits his back breaker while Bryan is wrapped around the ring post. Both men back in the ring and Orton covers for a 2 count. Orton covers again and gets another 2 count. Orton now mounts Bryan and connects with right hands followed by some stomps. Orton connects with some rights hands in the corner to Bryan. Bryan hits the corner but flips over. Bryan hits the ropes and connects with a running lariat. Bryan is getting his 2nd wind. Bryan charges and hits a dropkick to Orton in the corner. Bryan lifts Orton up and hits a top rope hurricanrana. Bryan covers and gets a close 2 count.
Bryan now grabs the kendo stick. Orton tries to beg Bryan off. Bryan unloads on Orton with a kendo stick shot followed by a kick to the chest over and over again. Bryan connects with a kick to the head. Bryan covers and gets another close 2 count. Bryan goes up top but Orton straddles him up there. Orton connects with a headbutt and goes up top with Bryan. Orton connects with a huge superplex. Orton covers and gets a 2 count. Orton starts stomping Bryan repeatedly. Orton hangs Bryan on the 2nd rope and hits his DDT. Orton calls for the RKO, but Bryan rolls to the outside. Orton gives chase but Bryan hits him in the face with a kendo stick. Bryan hits Orton over and over again with the stick. Bryan charges in and dropkicks Orton into the timekeeper’s area. Orton comes back and hangs Bryan throat first on the barricade. Orton grabs a chair and blasts Bryan in the back with it. Orton tosses Bryan into the ring and climbs in himself. Out of nowhere, Batista comes in and spears Orton. Bryan dropkicks “The Animal” out of the ring and covers Orton. 1-2-3. Bryan wins.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
After The Match
The announcers put over the fact that if this happens at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan will become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Michael Cole makes sure to point out that Bryan first has to get past Triple H. After that, Batista blasts Orton with a Batista-bomb. The fans chant “one more time” to “The Animal,” however he simply walks away instead.
In-Ring Segment: Paul Heyman
Paul Heyman comes out and stands at the top of the stage. He says he is here tonight to make the point that Undertaker’s last few opponents have taken him to the limit, and these are the same people that Lesnar has dominated. Heyman then shows footage of Undertaker’s history at Wrestlemania, and the history of Brock Lesnar in the WWE. Heyman says that it’s an uncomfortable truth, but Taker’s streak will be conquered by Brock Lesnar. Heyman closes by saying that both Undertaker and his streak will “Rest In Peace.”
Backstage: Triple H & Stephanie McMahon
A quick backstage segment is shown where Stephanie McMahon dresses Triple H down for losing control and not thinking straight. She complains about him wanting to talk to Daniel Bryan tonight, and asks what his plans are if he wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and has to go back on the road. He tells her to let him handle it. She says “you better” and leaves.
Fandango vs. Goldust
Fandango and Summer Rae dance their way to the ring after the Triple H and Stephanie McMahon backstage segment. We head to commercial. When we return from commercial, Goldust, accompanied by Cody Rhodes, makes his way to the ring. The two dance in mocking fashion to poke fun at Fandango.
The bell rings and the match begins with Fandango quickly in control. Goldust ends up quickly coming back and getting on control. Goldust connects with an atomic drop and hits his uppercut. Summer Rae gets on the apron to distract Goldust. Goldust does a disco dance and scares Summer Rae and Cody catches her on the outside. Fandango see’s this and it distracts him. Fandango grabs Goldust and whips him hard into the corner. Goldust covers for a 2 count. Fandango locks in a neck crank. Goldust fights back to his feet, but Fandango hits a club to the back of the neck.
Fandango drops a knee to the face of Goldust and locks in another neck crank. Cody tries to get the crowd behind Goldust. Goldust tosses Fandango off him and connects with a big right hand. Goldust is whipped hard into the corner again. Fandango covers for another 2 count. Fandango locks in a rear chin lock. Goldust fights back to his feet. Fandango whips Goldust into the corner, but Goldust gets a boot up. Goldust hits a head scissor and both men are down. Fandango covers and gets a 2 count. Fandango hits a suplex and goes up top. Fandango goes for his top-rope leg drop, but misses. Goldust counters by hitting his finisher. 1-2-3. Goldust wins.
In-Ring Segment: Kane, The Shield & Jerry Lawler
Kane and The Shield come to the ring. Kane calls out Jerry Lawler, basically blaming him for the “occupy RAW” segment last Monday night. The Shield force Lawler to get into the ring. Kane talks about how he doesn’t want to beat up Lawler, but how he’s going to.
Seth Rollins gets in Lawler’s face and says The Shield always does what’s best for business. With that said, all three members of The Shield turn around and focus their attention on Kane. They attack Kane. Kane tries fighting back, but Roman Reigns blasts him with a big spear. They triple-powerbomb Kane and that about does it.
