We reported recently that the local advertising for WWE’s Summerslam had a big match for The Undertaker listed. The local market had an advert stating that ‘Taker would be taking on Drew McIntyre at the event. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this doesn’t actually appear to be the case. Dave Meltzer wrote that “WWE is advertising Undertaker vs. McIntyre for SummerSlam on 8/11 in the Toronto market. We’re told that is typical local market advertising and that is not the actual plan right now for the show. ”

Undertaker will be teaming with Roman Reigns this Sunday for the Extreme Rules pay per view event on WWE Network. Whilst we do not know who Undertaker will be facing at Summerslam it is likely that the feud is started this Sunday. Meltzer again speculates who ‘Taker may be facing at the ‘biggest event of the summer.’

Dave wrote that “The problem is that given the Extreme Rules match, the big match being built would seem to be against either McIntyre or Shane, unless somebody new (Wyatt?) gets involved in the Extreme Rules match.”
